Anw, all this wasn’t a lucky “drop.”

Not from one big client.

Not from a launch.

But The (Dad) Funnel quietly stacking leverage in the background while I went about my week.

(We’ve been prepping for my daughter’s christening last week).

Here’s what made up the total:

– Daily customers grabbing $9, $47, $99 products
– Weekly clients on $50–$250/w memberships
– Higher-ticket clients ($990–$2,999) pushing the numbers up

Most people try to glue tactics together - freebies, funnels, launches, calls, DMs, coffee chats → into a Frankenstein that exhausts them.

I keep it simple: three levels.
1. Customers → small one-time offers
2. Clients → recurring memberships
3. Higher Ticket Clients → high-touch programs

People want flexibility. They want to move up and down without feeling locked in.

This is how it works:

– Deliver huge value at every level
– Make the baseline sticky (low churn)
– Let upgrades feel obvious and natural
– Keep buyers flowing in daily

The result?
$9.3K in a week.
70%+ recurring revenue.
10+ new buyers entering daily.
All while life goes on.

I live a very simple life.

2025 was a season of slowing down.

Having a baby changed our life around :)

It’s been incredible. Yet logistically challenging.

I take Wednesday & Friday off to have a different role. Probably the hardest role I’ve had to play.

Stay-at-home dad.

Because both my wife and I own our own businesses.

(She has a team of 12, so she’s got many more responsibilities)

But that means designing my business to fit around my life.

This is what it looks like:

- Only take client calls Mon, Tues, Thurs
- Reply to clients for 2h daily - empty inbox
- Start work day at 9, end at 2-3pm-ish
- Do hands on work in the morning when fresh
- Write all posts & emails every Friday & schedule 

At the core I know…

- If I write a daily post.
- If I write a daily email.
- If I make a daily offer.

Those are my work non-negotiables to keep the engine running.

And now with low cost $5/day ads, I put fuel into the engine even when I’m not there (beautiful).

I have The (Dad) Funnel that does the heavy lifting for me once someone is in my orbit.

That way I get to be present.

This process has made my relationship with my wife better than ever.

Its made my relationship with my daughter amazing. I’m grateful to never miss a moment.

And I get time to do things I love to feed my mind, body, & soul. 

Like serve incredible clients that challenge me daily, commit to a marathon, play music & doodle. And of course, take care of our 3 dogs and 3 cats.

To some that may be simple.

But I love our simple little life.

Here’s 10 things it taught me about B2B Sales:

I had to address the elephant in the room.

I did a post yesterday about this funnel I was SO proud of.

And guess what? 

To my surprise…

More people noticed my hair was gone than I’d imagined.

In hindsight: DUUUUUH. I’ve had it for 10 years.

Who cares about the funnel. Gimme the goss bro.

So today’s post is 10 lessons it taught me about B2B Sales to honor that.

I made a bold decision, and it turned out to be the best thing I ever did…

In January, I scrapped 17 pieces of content I had scheduled.

That moment was pivotal for me.

Not because they were bad.
They were “good.”
Polished. Sharp. Scroll-stopping.

But none of them sounded like me.

They sounded like everyone I follow…
…everyone I’ve learned from.

And that was the problem.

It wasn’t until I posted a clumsy voice note 
raw, unedited, kind of a mess …
and even did a bit of a meme thing
that people messaged me saying:

“This. More of this. It hit.”

That’s when it clicked:

It’s not about being louder.
Or smarter.
Or even clearer.

It’s about being truer.

Most of us start online trying to “do it right.”
Say the right thing. In the right format. With the right tone.

But eventually, that voice becomes someone else’s.

And when your voice isn’t yours…
No strategy can save you.

So I stopped performing.
Stopped trying to sound like a ‘bRaNd’ blueprint.
And started listening for my own signal again.

That’s what *frequency* is.
Not a tone. Not a tactic.
But your truth → expressed.

It’s not about volume.
It’s about resonance.

Last night, someone asked: “Which funnel made you the most money?”

I smiled.

Because it’s the wrong question.

In the last 2 years, I hit $1M in sales.
Grew my LinkedIn to just under 50,000 followers.
Built an email list of 6,000+ buyers and readers.
And served over 350+ clients and 3,000+ customers.

Not because I found one perfect funnel.
But because I stacked 5.

Each one built for a different stage.
Each one doing a different job.

Here's a breakdown:

5 different funnels

Last week I was invited to a storytelling workshop.

Had some fun convos with Louis, Matt & Nick.

A few people have DM’d me about the Story → Lesson → Pivot → Offer framework since.

You can use it to collect stories from stuff you’ve already done this week, and use it to make offers without sounding salesy. Works for LinkedIn, email, or any other platform.

So, here it is:

Story:

Pick out a 5 second moment you experienced this week either in life or business.

Lesson:

Draw out a lesson from the 5 second moment.

Pivot:

This is where you switch and create, almost a “bow tie” between your story and the offer that’s about to come in the next step.

Offer:

You unselfishly plug your offer that enables someone to buy into the next step.

Let’s map out an example. 

Note, stories could even be one-liners. As long as there’s a scene, a person, a time, a place - you’re golden.

Here it is:

“I ran 15KM yesterday, and let loose. Running takes a lot of preparation and endurance. Just like in business where it’s a marathon not a sprint. If you’d like to build some business endurance, you might consider my product “X”.

See what we did there?

Story. Lesson. Pivot. Offer.

I’ve used this framework every day (for 4 years) to write my emails.

It’s fun, it gets people to keep coming back, and makes the writing journey more enjoyable.

It could be anything you wish that’s interesting.

Remember.

Content is communication in context.

And if no one can replicate your story, it’s unique to you.

I didn’t do any money affirmations this morning.

I changed 1 element & made an extra $13k.

Last Friday I worked for 45 mins.

I checked my funnel.
I changed one part of it.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Outcome?

+74.4% increase in new customers.
+80.9% increase in average spend per customer.

It might not sound like a lot.

But it’s why consultants don’t hit their money goals.

I joke but most shouldn’t do their own marketing.

It’s like being your own lawyer. Technically possible. Inadvisable.

And many underestimate the boring, data insights that drive incremental growth.

They focus on big ideas.
I focus on improving numbers.

(One sounds sexier at dinner parties. The other pays for dinner.)

When I’m asked why it matters…

Well, let’s say your funnel shows this:

BEFORE:

• 1,000 leads come in
• 5% buy product → 50 customers at $200 each = $10,000
•10% of customers buy upsell → 5 clients at $3,000 each = $15,000
	
• Total revenue: $25,000
• Total buyers: 55 people

Now just up these numbers by 10%. 
(Being conservative here).

AFTER:

• 1,100 leads (10% more opt-ins)
• 5.5% buy product → 60 customers at $200 = $12,000
• 11% buy upsell → 7 clients at $3,000 = $21,000

• Total revenue: $33,000
• Total buyers: 67 people

The result?

67 buyers instead of 55.

That’s a 22% increase in buyers.
That’s a 32% increase in revenue.

From a few simple tweaks.

With each client being worth $3,000.

And each customer spending $200 on average.

That’s an extra $96,000 per year from one funnel.

That’s why I spend my mornings changing one element, not whispering affirmations to my bank account.

It’s the compound interest of tiny improvements.

And it’s the unsexy reason my students grow — fast.

While others are manifesting, we’re optimizing.

I've been contemplating this lately. So I'm just gonna share it as it is:

You don’t become the new version by waiting to feel ready.

You become it by showing up as it before you are.

See, the gap between who you are and who you’re becoming isn’t closed by knowing more, learning more, or getting more confident.

It’s closed by acting like that person today.

You don’t earn the identity first, then act.

You act first. Then the identity catches up.

Every time you do the thing when it feels uncomfortable.

Every time you show up when no one’s watching.

Every time you move before you feel like the person who moves like that…

You’re not building a habit.

You’re becoming proof to yourself that you already are.

The version of you that takes action? Not more talented. They just decided to be that person and stopped negotiating.

The version of you that shows up fully? Not more ready. They just started before feeling ready. 

The version of you that’s recognized, respected, and undeniable in your space?  Didn’t wait for permission. Gave it to yourself.

And the moment you stop waiting to feel like that person and just start being that person:

Everything changes.

(At least it did for me)

Not because you finally figured it out.

Because you finally stopped waiting.

You were always capable. 

You just weren’t ready to let yourself be.

I still don't know what I wanna be when I grow up.

For me, the important bit? 

I'm building a business around my life.
Not the other way around.

And that matters more than anything.

Last month I stopped guessing what would work.

We ran a split test instead. The results were brutal.

Here’s the framework you can use:

Two creative styles:

1. Logical / Rational → charts, reports, text-heavy
2. Emotional → lifestyle shots, aspirational imagery

Five copy styles:

1. Urgency & Scarcity
2. Authority-Based
3. Objection Handling
4. Simple & Direct
5. Story/Narrative

That gave me 10 variations.

And the data was clear:

What worked:

(For a more sophisticated audience, not beginners)

– Professional, report-style creative (56% more leads, 18% cheaper CPL)

– Authority-based and objection-handling copy

What failed:

– Emotional imagery drove clicks but tanked conversions
– Urgency and story-driven copy nearly doubled cost per lead

The insight?
This audience rejected hype and pressure.
They wanted credibility, not charisma.
They wanted systems, not stories.

Now I’m turning off everything else and scaling what actually works.

Question for you:
Do your buyers respond more to data-driven proof or emotional storytelling?

Bottom line:
Winners aren’t found by guessing.
They’re found by testing.

how to make $$ with content

Everyone says “teach.”

But most of what they post sounds like this:

“You’re stuck because of self-sabotage. Here’s the 3-step fix.”

“Your content isn’t converting because your hook sucks.”

“Stop skipping leg day if you want real results.”

That’s not resonance.
That’s performance.

It’s advice dressed up as authority.

And people can smell it.

Now here’s what showing sounds like:

“I skipped meditation today — and instead of judging myself, I got curious. That’s new for me.”

“I posted 3 times this week and hated all of them. I realized I wasn’t writing in my voice — just copying what ‘works.’”

“I almost didn’t go to the gym. But I made a deal: just put on your shoes. That got me out the door.”

Same value.
Same insight.

But instead of teaching from the stage…

You’re speaking from the floor, next to them.

Because you’ve been there.

You’re still in it.

You’re not better — just a bit clearer.

People don’t want gurus.

They want guides who’ve walked the same road… and are still walking it.

That’s what makes your content feel true.

Experts teach.

Fellow travelers show.

A client (who was a bit annoyed) messaged me this last week:

“I feel like I’m sitting on a goldmine - but nothing’s happening.”

They had buyers.
They had past clients.
They had interest.

But revenue was stalling - because everything was waiting on a big push.

And I get it.

We’re taught to wait for the perfect time:

The next launch.
The next funnel.
The next promo window.

But in relationship-driven businesses?
That’s not how money moves.

So we built 9 'Fast Cash Plays' for them to execute.

Not by creating something new.
By activating what was already there.

Here’s 9 things we ran:

1. Made “yes” easier.
Their offer was $1,000/month.
We added a weekly option — $250/week.

They paid within the hour.

2. Gave current clients a reason to prepay.

“Prepay 3 months, get 10% off.”

No sales page. Only a simple message:
“Want to lock in your spot and save $300?”

3. Reopened warm conversations.

We searched paused threads and sent:
“Hey [name], you popped into my mind. Still curious about [result]?”

4. Reached out to past clients.

Nothing fancy. Just:
“Got a few spots opening. Want me to save you one?”

5. Let leads write the copy.

We asked:
“What would make this a no-brainer for you?”

One said: “If it were shorter, I’d do it.”

So we built a mini version. They bought that week.

6. Offered a beta.

4 weeks. 1 outcome. 3 spots.

We messaged:
“Testing something new — want to try it first?”

7. Ran a 72-hour bonus window.

Private feedback + one bonus session. No discount.
Shared via IG stories and email.

8. Turned an old training into a $48 offer.

Pulled it from Google Drive. Gave it a name.
Posted casually.

It sold. Got customers. Fast.

Because people don’t always want more.
They want access to what you’ve already nailed.

9. Asked for referrals.

Simple DM:
“Know anyone who’d be a great fit? I’ve got space this month.”

Again, nothing fancy.
And not having to reinvent the wheel.

A little bit of motion.

Because when revenue dips, most people think they need more stuff.

But what they actually need - is more proximity.

This client didn’t change their business.
They just reconnected with the people already leaning in.

You can do the same.

Last Tuesday, I felt drained and something felt a bit off. I realized why:

I’d been sleeping for 5 hours on average.

I usually sleep for 6 hours daily.

Something I’ve always done. Pretty much a “must” in my books.

Now that the baby routine is sorted too.
I wake up as an entirely different person.

So when I don’t do it, I can’t run my one person business at my best.

When I sleep less → i get moody
When I’m tired → my business underperforms 
When I’m not at my best → my clients sense it

Yeah. Pretty usual stuff for a one person biz. 

But I did some things to get back to peak energy:

1. Took afternoon off → no client work or socials

2. Figured out issue → wound clocks back to do my marathon prep earlier 

3. Made a change → fixed routine to sleep earlier 

And I simply…slept.

And it worked over and over and over.

It’s been a week of sleeping 6 hours again. And waking up at 5am and running like I wanted. As I’m prepping for a marathon.

My energy started peaking.

- content flowing instantly
- mood on a high both for family and clients
- generally felt energized and flowing

That’s why sleeping optimally is a must for me. I’ve been told 6 hours is too little but it has always been my jam.

Even when I commit to crazy marathons :) 

Energized me → energized clients → energized life.

ps. the marathon is in January. 3 months to go before the big day.

Last quarter I added 2 emails to my backend that brought in multi-5 figures so far.

One asks weekly clients if they want to save 20% by paying annually.

The other quietly introduces a higher tier with DM support.

There’s no promos, or pitching or anything like that. Simply some info.

(Because they’re already clients)

I sent the annual offer to weekly clients - and explained the incentive for long-term thinking.

I shared the tier upgrade as a simple invite, without any pressure.

About 10% of Tier 1 clients took the higher-tier offer.

And without any public promotion…

Those 2 emails have quietly brought in $25,000 in the last 60 days.

I’ve given them to clients too and they’ve now reported with results coming in (I’ll do another post on this ascension funnel).

I stopped treating backend emails as admin.

And started treating them as leverage.

What I actually did:

1. Incentivized the behavior I wanted more of (annuals = long-term thinkers).

2. Positioned the next tier as an opportunity, not an upsell.

3. Let email do the quiet lifting while I stayed off the feed.

No DMs. No sales calls. No free webinars.

Stop posting everything for free.
Start selling small.

Because $9 isn’t just $9.
It’s the first step to $9,000.

Last year, I realized I didn’t need to build more.

I just needed to offer what I was already doing — but clearly.

Inside Modern Maker, I run a smaller group called The Inner Circle.

20 people. More direct access to me.

That was the first layer.

Then I looked at what I was already doing for the wider group:

Trainings. Workshops. Live calls.

Instead of letting them sit there, I started offering them up:

• I created a product around my training Your Next Client in 10 Days

• I sold tickets to workshops I was already running

• I gave people simple ways to get more of my brain without needing to “join” something

None of this was extra work.
It was just leveraged reuse.

People want different things.

Some want a quick win.
Some want access.
Some want depth.

When you offer all 3 — it works.

I made it simple to buy from me like this:
	
1. Took what I was already doing and gave it a name (The Inner Circle)

2. Turned the training I was already delivering into a product

3. Started selling access to live workshops

4. Let people choose how close they want to get

Now I’ve got people paying a few bucks for a training and others paying thousands to borrow my brain.

Lemme ask you…

What’s already working that you haven’t offered yet?

I built this business around my life.

Not the other way around.

If that’s the goal - follow along.

I’ve got to own up to it.

Working less has been one of the hardest things to sit with that I’ve experienced in over a decade of consulting.

I always knew work to be hard.

So I operated with:

- A jam packed calendar
- Long work hours
- Very little weekend time 
- Always “on” due to international clients 
- Constantly busy 
- Scarcity mindset 

No matter what I did. Give or take feelings were there.

Since I’ve had my daughter I’ve promised myself to work 3 days a week.

And even though I was good at systems.

I never truly 100% embodied what I said until 7 months ago.

What often goes on in my mind:

- You’re not servicing clients properly
- You’re pretty much a fraud for working less
- Everything can’t work in such little time 
- Making money so easily doesn’t feel right 

Among many other thoughts.

I have to sit still and hold those feelings.

Old me would push them away.
New me embodies their very presence.

You can call them first world problems. But it’s been an amalgamation of all these hours, hard work, leverage, audience building, funnels, clients, personal & business growth — now paying off the dividends.

Building a system that = money on easy mode.

Has completely rewired my inner nervous system.

I’m still figuring it out.

And I feel blessed to be here. So, cheers:

To more presence.
To more life.

We’ve only got one round of this life.

Might as well live it.

I’ve heard lots of stuff that gets you leads on LinkedIn.

(Especially on the content side)

“This is the best framework”
“This gets you booked out”
“This will crush your goals”

I’m genuinely happy for folks.

But what works for them doesn’t necessarily mean it’s going to work for you. I used to get upset with myself when it didn’t.

This one thing worked for me. 

So, I’ll show you how I write my content.
And it might click, or work for you.

I realized that I collect content more than create it.

This is how I do it:

1: Look at my calendar
2: Pick out an event from last week
3: Write out a list of what I did
4: Expand on that list in short paragraphs
5. End with an optional CTA

Example:

- Last Tues. I helped Chris write his G-Doc offer 
- We went over his promise, plan, price 
- We then added easy-to-deliver features 
- Gave him some scripts to validate it
- If you want the scripts shoot me a message

👆then write 3-4 lines under each one of these points and expand on them. I’ll demonstrate with one of them. Let’s take point 3.

Instead of bulky tutorials, we picked Google Docs for notes. Google meets to have the call. WhatsApp for fast communication. Fathom for the video recording. No need to overcomplicate when you can get the job done with what you’ve already got.

Collected something that *already* happened.
No need to create anything & make it hard. 

Your real insights are 93.4% more valuable than the trash post you were going to steal from that influencer anyway.
