I come from a family of employees.

Good people. 
Hard workers.

You need delusion.

I get called lucky a lot.

And honestly? I have been lucky.

I had savings when I quit my job.
I wrote on LinkedIn before it was popular.
And a wife who supported me while I figured it out.

But here's the thing about luck:

It doesn't show up when you're sitting around.
It shows up when you're working on something.

People confuse wealth with money.

They're related, but not the same at all.

I used to make great money at work. 

Big title and bonuses, the whole startup thing.
But my calendar always belonged to other people.

Prior to 2019, I'd never used social media. 

3 years later, I had 1 million followers.

But for the first eight months, nobody listened.

I told everyone about my big idea.

Then I did nothing about it for a year.

Talked about it at work.

I didn't have it figured out when I started.

I still don't, honestly.
