I fell into start-ups by joining a shabby outfit above an industrial garage in South Wimbledon, then known as Streetcar. That business exited to Zipcar which eventually sold to Avis for a cool half a billion.

At MyBuilder, it became clear marketing was the function where I could add most impact. We grew that business and exited to IAC (Expedia, Trivago). 

Since then I’ve worked with and advised multiple companies in growth and marketing, with roles like Head of Brand, Head of Marketing, Marketing Director and Chief Marketing Officer. 

I love a bit of stradegee, but will never get tired of hands-on building, whether it’s creative, copywriting, PPC, SEO or paid search.

I Choose Freedom is a charity that provides refuge and a path to freedom for survivors of domestic abuse. We have three refuges that house women and children. As part of our Refuge for All project, we also offer self-contained units to support any survivor.

Alongside taking a career break to concentrate on my MSC, personal development and community work, I founded my own agency working with a limited number of clients at a time to provide exceptional service combined with great technology and my wealth of experience.  This gave me experience as a self employed estate agent as well as the opportunity to explore different models within the industry.  

In addition I have provided Organisational Development Consultancy to local organisations outside of the industry as well as delivering coaching and development sessions to teams within Nested (previous employer) and mentoring. During lockdown for Covid-19 I founded and led the Reigate & Redhill Mutual Aid volunteer group; remotely coordinating 800 volunteers and working closely with local authorities and charities to support the community.

I took a short break when head hunted by Purplebricks; a role I took for 6 months.

Heading up the Partnerships team at Nested.com -  Nested is changing the property market by providing certainty and liquidity to those that need to sell their property in order to move forwards with their future plans; either with their next purchase, a relocation perhaps, or to release funds. This includes developers, estate agents, bridging loan organisations and asset managers, amongst others.

A newly created role to manage and develop the flagship branch of this independent Surrey estate agency. This quickly developed into a more senior and diverse role with responsibilities across multiple branches including:  

Creating a company-wide reporting system for a range of disciplines to allow (for the first time) a clear understanding of the status of each branch.
Initiating and chairing company Managers' Meetings 
Implementing and managing a companywide training programme
Designing and implementing companywide staff review and reward systems
Designing and implementing a New Starter programme
Suggesting, negotiating and rolling out a companywide conveyancing partnership.

In Relation to Branch Management:
Conducted holistic branch analyse - current business practice and identifying strengths and weaknesses and areas for improvement and development.
Producing a comprehensive business plan (not before used by the company) to achieve my goals for the branch based on measurable targets (both short and long term) forged from the analysis. This included analysis and targets for fee levels, valuations, instructions, sales, fall-throughs & peripheral business.  Designing how these targets were going to be achieved including staff training and development, staff target awareness and ownership, marketing, brand development and streamlining.
Managing all aspects of the branch and property marketing and sales process to achieve these goals.
Working closely to develop my team of 7 by providing support, advice & coaching 
Overall Results:
Increase in turnover by 25% in less than two years; creating a £1million branch.
Increase market share to consistently be number one for properties listed and sales agreed 
Targeted reduction in fall through rates 
Staff development and tangible engagement with their roles and responsibilities

This was a bespoke role created to increase market share and return the branch to profitability. The branch is in a high volume area with a high density of Estate Agents.  As a previous branch manager my skills, experience and support were invaluable to the Branch Manager and we were very much a Management Team. 
Successes included increasing valuation appointments by 59%, personal valuation conversion for 2014 at 61% and increased fee levels.
As part of this role I took responsibility for designing bespoke marketing material with specific messages for targeted campaigns, monitoring the success of these campaigns and moving our message with the market.
As the Assistant Branch Manager I was also heavily involved in sales progression and pipeline conversion which rose to 36%, general branch management duties and staff training and development.
