That’s reportedly how long Atlassian employees had to wait to find out whether they still had a job.

Moments like this are difficult to watch.

Behind every headline are real people, real families, and years of work that suddenly shifts overnight.

But there’s also a bigger conversation happening beneath the surface.

Atlassian is still growing.

Revenue is up. The company is strong.

Yet we’re watching a restructuring that reflects something much deeper happening across the entire #technology industry.

#AI isn’t just changing products.

It’s changing how companies are built.

Over the past few years working closely with founders, product teams and emerging AI companies, one thing has become increasingly clear to me. 

The leverage that technology now gives to small teams is wild.

What used to require 50 people can sometimes now be done by 10.

What used to take months can happen in days.

That shift is forcing companies everywhere to rethink structure, talent and execution.

It’s uncomfortable.

It’s confronting.

And it’s happening faster than most people realise.

The real question now isn’t whether AI will reshape companies.

It’s how quickly leaders are willing to adapt to it.

Because the next generation of companies won’t necessarily be the biggest.

They’ll be the ones with the most leverage.

ATO Finance deliver essential services that strengthen ATO outcomes and priorities, overseeing all aspects of ATO finances including resource management and strategy, budgeting, financial accounting and tax reporting, procurement and contract management as well as project, property and facilities management services.

Work as part of a team to research and analyse financial, operational, administrative and technical accounting, reporting and assurance matters, analyse trends and data to identify issues, risks, and opportunities to develop solutions in consultation with stakeholders to influence business outcomes.

Duties:

- Accountable for bank accounts, ensuring policy compliance and account integrity.

- Facilitate reconciliation between bank deposits, remittances, and payments.

- Create, download, and reconcile financial reports daily using COGNOS and VIPER       Reporting   software.

- Investigate credit card transactions to prevent fraud.

- Perform daily financial transactions, including Administered Drawdowns through the    Department of Finance CBMS Portal.

- Process credit card chargebacks and reversals, updating client accounts accordingly.

- Detect and report fraudulent activity on client accounts, coordinating with banks and   AMEX.

- Manage daily sweep figures input into SAP Account system and reconcile complex   transactions.

- Conduct research and resolution of financial issues independently, maintaining    documentation.

- Generate end-of-month bank reconciliation reports and develop operational procedures.

- Provide advice to stakeholders on financial management processes.

- Maintain data related to resource management activities.

- Make administrative and operational decisions to support financial management activities.

- Identify opportunities for process improvement in financial services provision.

Training, Mentoring & Leadership Role In readiness for the 2021 & 2022 Tax Time Season

Duties:

 - Perform a range of quality assessments, case processing or case management and approvals to support and deliver ATO service delivery outcomes

 - Understand and apply Quality Assurance frameworks in the review and monitoring of work and provide feedback on work undertaken to ensure quality standards are met.

 - Allocated workloads that support strategic priorities and business links, operational and planning processes to meet set standards.

 - Support staff in maintaining a safe work environment, safe work practices and adherence to workplace health and safety policy.

 - Operate and provide technical support on ATO systems and apply and interpret procedures to manage and review the quality of data and information held in these systems

 - Contribute to the development of other team members by imparting knowledge, skills and techniques specific to the work area through training, coaching and mentoring

 - Liaise and provide advice to clients and stakeholders, gauging and understanding their specific needs to enable service delivery activities

 - Gather, research and analyse information and data from a wide range of sources, prepare reports and present findings to supervisor for review

 - Provide sound written and verbal advice, negotiate and assist clients with their payment and lodgment obligations

APS 4 SERVICE DELIVERY OFFICER (Higher Duties)

- Undertake a range of tasks to enable debt collection, client account, registration, lodgement and processing activities

- Confirm client information and process correspondence and taxation forms via phone, in person or through electronic interactions

- Provide information and options to clients following established procedures and protocols and undertake difficult conversations to assist clients to meet taxation and superannuation obligations

- Maintain the quality and integrity of ATO records by accurately recording client data, interactions and decisions

- Ask questions to understand client needs and escalate issues as required to provide appropriate solutions and resolve issues

- Build and sustain client relationships to create and maintain a positive impression of the ATO and resolve enquiries or issues

- Provide written and verbal advice, negotiate and assist clients with their payment and lodgment obligations

APS 3 SERVICE DELIVERY OFFICER

Training, Mentoring & Leadership Role for the 2021 Tax Time Season in the Out Of Hours Team (OOH) in Capture Paper Returns

Duties: 

- Led, Train & Support Casual APS 1 Services Delivery Officers in the OOH Space for Tax Time 2021.

- Support Out Of Hours Team Leader, Co Ordinator and Leadership Group.

- Prepare the training program as per the requirements and instructions of senior leadership.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training programs, Make changes, if required to improve outcomes of the programs.

- Identify training and development needs through job analysis, appraisal schemes and regular consultation with team leaders, co-ordinators, and training department

- Design and expand training and development programs based on the needs of the organisation and the individual.

- Perform Quality Control and Quality Assurances of Key Processing of RFC’s, ITR’s, Tax Agent IITR's, Company, Strata Title,  Partnership, Trust, FBT and SMSF Paper Tax Returns.

- Undertook Quality Control & Quality Assurance Feedback activities to keying staff within Smart Capture procedure guidelines.

- Provided support to staff questions or queries with keying of Returns into the system and the pre-processing of returns as necessary.

- Maintain & Updating CPR’s Keying & Pre-Processing Staff Quality Control Matrix. 

- Allocated workloads that support strategic priorities and business links, operational and planning processes to meet set standards.

- Support staff in maintaining a safe work environment, safe work practices and adherence to workplace health and safety policy.

- Provided support to staff questions or queries regarding WFM software. (Shift Allocation Software)
