I had my first ever personal branding photoshoot last week.

In South Korea.

And I am still not over it.

Almost two years after launching my personal branding and lead generation agency… I finally did the damn thing.

Which honestly makes me laugh because I’ve helped so many clients elevate their brands while I was over here like, “Ummm… yeah, I’ll do that later.”

But that’s how building works sometimes. You focus on clients, revenue and staying sane while scaling. 

The glossy upgrades come when you’re ready for them.

And I was ready.

My photographer was half Russian, half Korean, living in Seoul, and she was SUCH a vibe. Cool, creative, calm but also fully down for my dramatic ideas. 

I’m blunt. I speak my mind. I don’t do stiff corporate poses. Street photography felt so aligned with who I am.

Also can we talk about Seoul for a second? The streets are gorgeous. Clean, stylish, alive. Every corner looked like it was designed for a campaign shoot. I was thriving.

I genuinely cannot wait to get the final photos back and step into this next level of my brand.

Yesterday, I turned 31.

I spent my birthday on the east side of Jeju Island. Walking along the beaches. Exploring lava caves. Sitting quietly inside Buddhist temples. Letting the wind hit my face and staying outside for hours without checking my phone.

It felt peaceful.

I’ve been in South Korea for a week now, and I fly back to India on the 23rd. This trip has given me space I didn’t know I needed.

I’ve met people from all over the world. Complete strangers who became travel partners for a few days. We shared meals, stories, different perspectives on life. There’s something beautiful about connecting with people without history, without expectations. There’s only being present with each other.

The food here is good. Truly.

But I can’t eat it every day.

So yes, I’ve been surviving on convenience store ramen and thinking about dal chawal more than I’d like to admit. I miss home in small, specific ways. The comfort of familiar food. The ease of not having to adjust.

Turning 31 feels emotional in a quiet way.

I feel grateful.

For my health.
For the ability to travel.
For the strength it took to rebuild my life in my twenties.
For the work I’ve built with my own hands.
For the people who trust me.
For the ones who stayed when things were messy.

I want a calm nervous system.
A strong body.
Meaningful relationships.
Work that feels aligned and sustainable.
Time outdoors.
Depth over noise.

I now run a 6-figure business

It’s pretty simple. 
You can be brilliant, wise, talented and gifted. 

But if you’re not where you love, doing what calls your heart, mind, body, and soul, all that brilliance, wisdom, talent and those gifts are wasted. 

Find your place. Find your tribe. 
And go all in.

I turn 31 today.

I’m in Jeju Island, South Korea, sitting in a little homestay that overlooks Hyeopjae beach, and the sea looks calm in a way I fought my whole 20s to feel.

 I just feel… grateful.

There was a time in my life when I didn’t think I would make it to 31 feeling whole. I was surviving things I didn’t even have the language for.

And today I’m here. In a different country. Living a life I once whispered to God about.

Yesterday was chaotic in the most poetic way.

I twisted my ankle and still walked 15kms around Nami Island because… that’s me. I limped past trees and frozen paths, half laughing at myself, half questioning my life choices.

I bought ramen from a convenience store without knowing it had anchovies in it. The smell hit me and I genuinely gagged. 🤮
I stood there thinking, wow, this is how adventurous I am. Dumped it. Tried again. Got buldak carbonara because safe felt wise at that point.

Then I dropped the seasoning packet. Of course I did. 🙄 By the time I rescued what I could, the tub was filled with too much warm water and what I had was this sad, confused soup that tasted like regret. I took two bites, looked at it, and just laughed. Threw that too.

Hungry. Limping. Mildly dramatic. Still moving.

And somehow that feels like a metaphor for my entire life. Things not going as planned. Me adjusting. Me continuing anyway.

But the second half of the day… that’s the part I’ll never forget.

We met a mother and daughter from Brazil. Complete strangers. And within hours we were dancing through the streets of Myeongdong in -3 degrees like we had known each other for years. We shared fried chicken and soju and stories about life and courage and travel. We squeezed into a photobooth and made memories that will live somewhere in four tiny glossy pictures forever.

At midnight we were singing at karaoke like the world wasn’t heavy and adulthood wasn’t complicated.

When it was time to say goodbye, we hugged and cried a little. Promised to visit. And I meant it. There was something so pure about it all. 

Then my sister and I rushed to the airport at 3 am, shivering outside waiting for it to open, running on zero sleep and sheer stubborn joy. 36 hours awake. Flying to Jeju a day before my birthday.

I finally showered. Finally slept. Woke up to the ocean. Ate margherita pizza and kimchi rice like it was a feast.

And I just sat there thinking about my life.

About my parents who held me when I didn’t know how to hold myself. About my brother who has walked through every version of me. About my friends and colleagues who saw me in my worst seasons and stayed.

About the woman I am today. 

I don’t take that lightly.

Everything I went through shaped me.

31 doesn’t feel like a number. It feels like victory.

I am not the same girl I was.

And thank God for that.

I just landed in Korea 
I’ll be here for 9 days and it feels unreal to even say that! 

Yep, this is my birthday gift to myself this year. 

Those who know me, know I’m a big kdrama fan and a simp like that. 

This one trip had been in the making for the last 13 years, ever since I first watched a kdrama. 

Lee min ho took my breath away with “Boys over flowers”.

In the last 36 hours, I have secured a love lock where Lara Jean from “To all the boys I’ve loved before,” did too. My Peter Kavinsky is soon going to find me. 

I have taken a subway, only to pick up the wrong route and end up with a full city tour close to midnight. 

I have visited hanoks and imagined myself living in one of those in my previous life with my love. 

I have had the classic Korean fried chicken with Soju while IU stared at me from the walls of that little shack. 

I have seen the hype around Gwangjang market. 

I have bought for myself and my mum some lovely Korean skincare. 

I have relished a steaming bowl of teokbokki.. (it’s divine)

Downed honey hotteok, red bean paste Bungeo-ppang and the famous Soha salt pond salt bread.

Everything on that list is crazy delicious and I’m not exaggerating.

To think I would be here.. living my forever dream was….. just a dream. 

You, my clients and linkedin made it possible.

It’s been brutal catching flights, missing subways, hailing cabs at 3am for the last 7 days.

No kidding. 

I haven’t had a wink of sleep in so long. 
I mean, yes, I did sleep for 8 hours today after 7 days of being everywhere. 
(Guess that’s why I am even writing this. Those who know me, know I’m a zombie if I haven’t had my special 8 hours) 

But that’s not the point of this post.
The point is despite not posting actively or engaging, my DMs have been on fire.

I have booked 5 sales calls in 7 days while I posted only twice. 

The posts certainly supported my outreach efforts and I don’t take that lightly.

However, it was majorly due to my conversations with people. 

And…. Just being human. 

Linkedin can be a lead mine if you understood how beautifully it supports human engagement, relation building and nurturing.

Were so quick to start selling. 

In reality, it starts with 
- Empathising
- acknowledging
- mirroring

I don’t work miracles for free.

You don’t need an appointment setter.
You need a business model, a sales process, and possibly a reality check.

They said, “She’ll settle down when she’s older.”
Spoiler alert: She didn’t.

And thank God for that.
Because what does “settling down” even mean?

For most women in India, it looks like this:
> Stay home until you’re married.
> Marry by the “right” age.
> Prioritize your husband’s dreams over your own.
> Work….Only if he lets you.

Yeah, no thanks.

Here’s the life I actually built:
> Single and thriving at 30.
> 6-figure net worth…and climbing.
> Traveling where I want, when I want.
> Freedom of time, money, and location.
> Answering to no one but my own damn soul.

Sure, it’s not the script I was handed.
But it’s the one I f*cking rewrote.

Was it brutal sometimes? Hell yes.
Was it worth it? Every painful, beautiful second.

The real tragedy for me is shrinking myself to fit into a life I don’t even want.

If you’re scared to rewrite your story, listen up:
Choose courage over comfort.
Define success on your terms.
Stop apologizing for wanting more.

The world rewards the bold.
 

You weren’t born to live by someone else’s rules.

So go ahead.
Be the “black sheep.”
The rule breaker.
The one who never settles.

The ones who change the world never do.

P.S. if settling down with the right man who is your rock through it all is your dream, than that’s exactly where you’re supposed to be. 
Many would kill for a partnership like that - India or outside. (Yeah, me too)

It’s been 735 days since I quit my full time job.

Here’s what it did to my life:

1. Went broke
2. Got called delusional for leaving “security”
3. Moved cities 3 times
4. Wanted to quit at least a hundred times
5. Reworked my offer 5,665 freaking times

And still?

I’d choose it again.

Every single time.

Because in those 735 days…

I fell in love with building a business.

I grew more in 2 years than I did in the previous 10.

I got inside rooms I never thought I’d even be allowed to peek into.

Started working with Forbes Business Council members.
Fortune 500 and Fortune 100 executives.
Public figures I used to only read about.

I 10x’d my yearly salary.

Learned everything on the ground.

I was always a writer.
A storyteller.

But I became a professional marketer.
Then a salesperson.

And I’m bloody proud of it.

My work saved me from depression.
Gave me something to build instead of something to escape into.

I started traveling the world.
Extensively.
Because that was always the dream.

Expanded my team across continents.

I lost the weight I had gained from stress.

Entrepreneurship kicked my ass.

But it also rebuilt me.

There was a moment recently when I thought about how “easy” life would’ve been if I stayed.

Stable paycheck and the works….

And then I remembered…

Predictable was slowly killing my ambition.

735 days later…

I don’t have certainty.

I have capability.

And that’s worth a hell of a lot more.

I turned 31 this year and for the first time in my life, I came back from a holiday feeling physically wrecked.

I had just returned from a 9-day birthday trip to South Korea, a country I’ve wanted to visit for 13 years. 

It was beautiful… it was surreal. It meant something to me. I stood there thinking about the girl who had this on her Pinterest board in her early 20s and felt proud that I made it happen.

And then my body humbled me.

I was running around catching late-night subways, dragging luggage through stations, boarding early morning flights to another island, walking 20k-25k steps a day like that was completely normal behaviour. 

By the end of each day my back hurt, my knees hurt, and I wasn’t romanticising the adventure anymore. I was just tired.

There was a time when this kind of chaos felt exciting. I could take the cheapest option, hop between buses and trains, land at odd hours and still wake up ready to explore. 

I did that for most of my 20s...

Now I complain.

Now I look at 3 train transfers and think, absolutely not. I will book the cab. I will pay extra. I will choose ease.

It surprised me how quickly that change happened. 

My body does not want to hustle the way it used to. And honestly, I don’t want to either.

Comfort has become non-negotiable.

It’s not that I’m fragile. Not that I can’t push through. 

It’s just that I don’t need to prove that I can survive inconvenience anymore. 

I’ve survived much harder things in life than a missed subway. 

If I can make something gentler, why wouldn’t I?

I mean, I’m at the age where you start  wanting stability. You still want the experiences. You still want the magic. You just don’t want to destroy your nervous system while getting there.

And I think that’s maturity.

You stop glorifying exhaustion. You start paying for peace.

$7000 invested in 2024
Over 4x returned.
And the real payoff is still compounding.

In 2024, I hired a business coach, a sales coach, and a DM outreach and appointment setting coach, and that decision changed how fast and how clean my business started to move. 

What that money really bought me was speed, better judgment, and fewer avoidable mistakes, because while I could have figured things out alone, I would have paid for it with burnout, confusion, and months of trial and error that I simply did not need to go through.

What genuinely concerns me now is watching young freelancers hesitate to invest even a few hundred dollars into their own growth while confidently calling themselves experts, masters, or authorities, as if a label can replace skill, repetition, mentorship, and real feedback earned through doing the work properly.

Every meaningful upgrade in my business has come from being willing to admit that I was still learning, that my ego did not need protecting, and that investing in myself was not reckless but responsible, because growth always charges a price and you either pay it intentionally through learning or unintentionally through stagnation.

If spending on your own development feels uncomfortable, that discomfort is worth sitting with honestly rather than justifying away, because the real question is not whether you can afford to invest in yourself but whether you are ready to outgrow the version of you that feels safer staying exactly where you are.

I’m flying to my dream destination next week to celebrate my birthday
and it’s honestly insane to even type that out. Whaaaattttt!!

This trip has been 13 years in the making, which feels mildly unhinged when I say it out loud, but also very on brand for me.

I’m very excited and also very aware that I picked a wonderfully inconvenient time because my business is busy, things are moving fast, and my brain is doing constant background processing.

So yes, I’m excited about the trip and also mentally planning content, client work, systems, and reminding myself that taking a few days away is allowed.

A girl's gotta do what she's gotta do, y'all. 

BTW, there’s something very satisfying about planning a birthday trip you once thought was wildly unrealistic while also knowing you built the life that makes it possible.

I’ll share where I’m going soon, but for now I’ll say this.

Food is a serious affair there.
Music is everywhere.

You hate it sometimes, but you also love it with every fibre of your being.
