I thought AI was overrated until about 3 months ago. Then last week, with the release of Opus 4.6, I swung to the complete other side of the pendulum -- this tool is wildly mispriced, it's the base layer for a new operating system, Anthropic is building the next Windows, computers in 15 years will run on the future version of CoWork and this will all be built on Code written in English by agents.

This terrifies me, I won't lie.

This weekend, I helped my wife try Claude Code. She and Claude created an app to send her a personalized newsletter every morning at 6:30 AM through its own gmail account curated to her specific interests.

I then set up Openclaw. On Telegram, I text it back and forth with ideas to build. I've got the Agent setup with a Claude API and it can also tap into Codex. We're testing app ideas that I never could've built by myself if you gave me 5 free years, and it knocks them out in about a day. It sent me an update this morning that it made a grammarly knock off that personalizes itself to the user over time. Wild, wild stuff.

I'm not telling you to go use it. I worry it'll do to our brains what Google Maps has done to our sense of direction.

However, my mind has changed. This is a complete paradigm shift in knowledge work. Not a clue what comes next but I've decided to run at it instead of run away from it.

My general thesis is the visible work -- writing, on-camera video, etc -- is more durable than the invisible work -- coding -- when it comes to AI, much like we prefer to watch 2 humans play chess rather than 2 AIs even though the AIs today trounce the humans.

Could obviously be wrong.

Will share more about my AI explorations as a non-technical guy along with the usual ideas on writing and storytelling.

Not necessarily for the prose but for the structure required to move you through a story.

- Intention & obstacle
- Hooks & cliffhangers

The internal logic builds the foundation of a great story, and it’s worth reverse engineering and trying to apply the ideas to your work.

It's been awhile since I wrote about storytelling on here. Every marketer on this site thinks they're Tolkien now, so I became disillusioned with the word. Distanced myself from it.

But as I've been exploring AI I've come back to the idea of storytelling as this layer that sits across pretty much everything. You can take someone at a random cafe in New York and drop them into your mind and experience through a story. It's not rocket science of course, but there's definitely an art and a science to it.

Sure, consider hooks and structure and pacing, but also trust your intuition. When I'm doing my best work there's almost zero thinking involved, all instinct. Then I'll come back to clean it up with my editor brain turned on.

I'm still annoyed about the psyop that's claimed my favorite word. The skill, however, I've never been more excited about.

Is there a great tool for linkedin analytics?

Shield’s close but not quite granular enough.

I’m less interested in follower numbers and impressions and moreso interested in the quality of the audience being built.

- Where are they?
- What level within their company?
- What industry?

You can find all that in linkedin directly but haven’t seen an external tool with it laid out in such a way I can share with a client.

PS. Yes I know Shield shares this for individual posts but that’s stupid time consuming to go through.

Here’s the problem with attribution:

1. I know of a business because I’ve followed the founder for years on twitter

2. Convo with friends around the topic

3. I don’t have link, so go to google to get link - accidentally hit sponsored link

4. Send link anyway

5. Friend applies for membership - it’ll be a low five figure a year thing

6. Business will see he clicked through Google ad

7. Attribute lead to Google ads

Reader, the Google ad did nothing, the twitter account did everything, and attribution will show the opposite.

Wonder how often this happens
