Even as a serial sales rep throughout school, I never considered a career in sales as a viable option.

I had resigned myself to the reality that teaching was my calling and that sales was just a means to pay the rent until I graduated.

That all changed when I attended a dinner my brother was hosting for his closest friends.

The topic of what I planned to do came up and there was an overwhelming amount of support to seriously consider the field of sales.

That night, without a business degree, I worked up the courage to apply to some of the perceived best sales organizations we had discussed.

To my surprise, companies began to reach out and I haven't looked back since.

Now, I am here to help others, in a similar position find their calling.

Working in the trenches, leading teams, or advising companies on their growth objectives.

I'm excited to give back and help those who may look to forge a similar path.

Built a future forward global business operations team leveraging product management fundamentals and agile framework to set-up the company for scale by focusing on strategic initiatives and BAU activities cross-functionally, cross-regionally and across all levels in the organization.

Leading 3 post-merger integration (PMI) streams: process alignment, facilities and communication/ change management in aligning Sourced Group with Amdocs.

Led the global ERP initiative towards automation, workflow re-design and data based decision making which involved replacing 3 core systems over 12 months with a team of 3, coming in under budget. We successfully launched Salesforce CRM MVP in 4 weeks and FinancialForce PSA MVP in 7 weeks. We also had FinancialForce Accounting ready to go-live in 5 months which included 2 full months of parallel testing.

Revolutionized the way we learn as an organisation - developing repeatable content online that can be accessed from anywhere, the way we work - knowing who is responsible for each part of the process and the way we access information - creating repeatable reports and dashboards that feed data to the relevant stakeholders in real-time. 

Supporting regions in Australia, Singapore, Canada, US and Malaysia.

Led internal project to drive department health across the company ensuring all internal services teams have a team charter, tooling and foundation.

Supporting global operations meetings with executive team to drive accountability, transparency and increased communication globally including discussions on financials, sales and recruitment pipeline, team health and global resourcing. Created one real-time global dashboard for executive team with revenue forecasts and sales metrics along many other real-time reports and dashboards used for weekly meetings with a vision to eliminate excel from our everyday where possible.

Global Head Of Business Operations

First global, corporate employee and successfully built global corporate and finance function and the infrastructure to support capital raise of $20M .

Oversight and management of global team of 6 across Australia, Canada and Singapore including controllers and operations and resource managers, consisting of 8 legal entities. Implemented global month-end close and quarterly business reviews, consistency in processes, build of consolidated and regional financial models.

Established operations team responsible for revenue forecasting and pipeline as well as resource management and operational KPI’s to increase future visibility and governance.

Supported and built back-office infrastructure for $20M equity/debt capital raise. This included preparing due diligence, data room creation using Firmex and corporate restructure to move global operating entities under parent company. 

Designed employee stock option methodology and executed roll-out globally. 

Oversight of initial reviews, audits and transfer pricing with KPMG.

Corporate Controller - Global Operations

Hired and managed a team of one, overseeing one legal entity in Canada. Coaching and mentoring led her to take over the controller role for North America.  

Led the creation and roll-out of initial RRSP plan and benefits renewal.

Researched, supported and documented regulatory and compliance for new region in Singapore including ECI, IR8A’s, etc and led the search and signing of the first co-working office space.

Support the roll-out and management of Egencia (corporate travel booking platform) to assist with easier corporate travel bookings, tracking and approvals.

Attended and planned first executive strategic off-site.

Supported capital raising initiatives including valuations, operating loans and corporate credit cards.

Financial Controller - North America

First full-time non-billable employee at the organization.

Established finance function in Canada developing processes, standards and proper record keeping including monthly close binders, compliance with regulatory bodies and cashflow reporting.  Led renewal of global insurance policy resulting in a lower fee and better coverage.

Responsible for all admin, finance, HR, operations and back-office support functions.

Executed the selection, roll-out and transition of first HRIS system (BambooHR) and supported the roll-out of PSA system (Mavenlink) from 10kft.

Assistant Controller - North America

EF Educational Tours

Managing a team of three to complete and coordinate daily accounting tasks of three legal entities and monthly reporting required for senior management and stakeholders.

Coordinating the completion of projects list (currently 40 projects) to improve processes, controls and efficiencies through collaboration from other departments.

Leading the change from quarterly legal reporting to monthly legal reporting including variance analysis, financial statements and presentation on highlights to CFO.

Preparing legal and cash flow forecasting for senior management and treasury.

Coaching and mentoring staff to develop their careers and meet their professional goals.

Responsible for meeting all covenants and requirements for regulatory bodies (TICO, CPBC, OPC, etc).

Accounting Manager

Leading team through daily tasks and monthly/quarterly closes to meet deadlines set by parent company and regulatory bodies.

Preparing and analyzing financial statements and significant accounts at month-end.

Developed cash flow management tool used to assess cash inflows and outflows on weekly and quarterly basis required for daily cash needs and to comply with regulatory bodies.

Adapting and implementing new processes to improve efficiencies including payments to various vendors, paperless record keeping and reconciling accounts. 

Other tasks include: training and supervising staff members, bank reconciliations, VISA reconciliations, accounts payable, journal entries, reclassification entries and inter-company entries, managing mobile phones and tablets with telecommunications provider, etc.

Formusa Zuccaro

Managing audit and review engagements for clients generating $50 million in revenues.

Performing risk assessments on new and existing clients to identify key operational and fraud risks associated with the industry, internal controls and any key performance metrics or covenants.

Analyzing financial statements, general ledger accounts and ratios to ensure accuracy and validity.

Preparing journal entries, note disclosures for financial statements and offering daily accounting advice to clients.

Leading the improvement of audit and review files for over 30 different clients to be efficient and timely, resulting in increased profitability and superior feedback by quality control reviewer, clients and partners.

Supervising and assisting in training staff members by offering direction and support, reviewing work, and ensuring firm and institute standards are met.

Grant Thornton LLP (Canada)

Took a senior role in planning and executing audits and special engagements for clients generating $270 million in revenues primarily under accounting standards for private-enterprises (ASPE), public sector accounting standards (PSAS) and accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations (ASNPO).

Led audit as senior accountant a year and a half early, receiving incredibly positive feedback from manager.

Obtained above average performance ratings on both job-based and annual performance evaluations at GT emphasizing work quality, leadership, client relationship management, and mentoring of junior staff members as highly ranked competencies.

Firm Leadership and Involvement:

Prepared and facilitated several CKE preparation sessions for the GT CKE mentor program for the January 2013 exam and received greater than expected feedback from participants on the effectiveness and usefulness of those sessions.

Volunteered for the GT tax clinic for low-income individuals in 2011 and 2012.

Represented GT in 2012 for the CIBC 5km Run for the Cure and the United Way CN Tower Climb.
