It’s the compression of time.

GPT-5 doesn’t just answer smartly.
It compresses weeks or months of scientific work into hours — in math, physics, immunology, astronomy.
That’s much deeper than “writing emails faster.”

Across every field in the OpenAI report, the same pattern shows up:
GPT-5 doesn’t replace experts. It removes the slowest part of expert work.

The strongest example

For years, immunologists couldn’t fully explain one old experiment.
T cells behaved strangely when glucose was blocked, and no one could understand why.

GPT-5 looked at the data and, within minutes, proposed the exact mechanism: not an energy deficit, but disrupted glycosylation plus a list of follow-up experiments the lab later confirmed.

Then it predicted that the same metabolic tweak would make CAR-T cells more lethal against cancer and this matched the lab’s unpublished data almost perfectly.

That’s not autocomplete.
That’s compressed scientific reasoning

AI accelerates the “frontier step,” not the routine.
In physics, GPT-5 found hidden symmetries of a curved-space equation but only after a warm-up on a simpler version.

2. It sees connections people never look for.
In geometry, it linked a new theorem to obscure literature in multi-objective optimization something that would have taken weeks of human searching.

3. It produces publishable results.
GPT-5 helped generate new proofs of Erdős problems and solved integrals that were too difficult even for Mathematica.

This isn’t a “chatbot.”
It’s a new kind of scientific instrument.

The report says it clearly:
the cycle from “idea - result” shrinks from months to days.

AI won’t replace scientists.
It removes the time between ideas.

The-Real-Breakthrough-in-AI

In my view, the biggest illusion on the AI market today is that we’re living through a breakthrough. 

In reality, we’re living through an exceptional period of self-deception.

90% of AI startups aren’t building a business.
 
They’re building pretty demos and hoping investors won’t ask one simple question: “How many of your customers actually use the AI, not just the old features?”

Recently, a big AI platform for finance teams went out to raise at an inflated valuation.
 
The topline looked great: 300% growth year over year.

But out of 700 customers, only 54 turned on the AI module at least once a month. NRR: 88%. 

Payback period on acquisition: 19 months. 

Investors walked away without even negotiating. 

Not because the product was terrible, but because this isn’t an AI business. It’s an old system with an “AI” sticker on it.

Here’s what most founders don’t want to hear:

– Without your own data, you’re nothing.
– Without strong retention, you’re irrelevant.
– Without real unit economics, even a warehouse full of GPUs won’t save you.

The AI wave won’t kill the market. It will kill everything that doesn’t know how to make money.

The-AI-Boom-Is-Not-What-It-Looks-Like

If an investor messages you first, don’t overreact.
It’s simply a test of whether you’re ready to operate at a professional standard.

Most founders make one of two mistakes:
they send way too much information, or they reply with something vague.
Both reduce the chances of moving forward.

What you actually need is a simple, lightweight initial package.
It lets the investor understand your business in a few minutes.
This is not due diligence. It’s a filter.

Here’s what to send:

1. One-pager
The problem, the solution, your market, traction, team, and the round you’re raising.


2. Pitch deck (10–12 slides)
Product, market, economics, progress, and your plan. Clear and concise.


3. One key metric
MRR, growth rate, retention, sign-ups—any metric that shows real movement.


4. 30–60 second demo
Show the product. It saves time and removes guesswork.


5. Call availability
A couple of time slots or your Calendly link.



Why this works:
the investor spends less time evaluating you,
and you look prepared and consistent.

Example
A founder building an AI tool for legal teams got an inbound message from an angel investor.
He sent a one-pager, a short deck, MRR growth from $12k to $18k over two months, and a 40-second demo.
The investor replied in 40 minutes.
A week later, he wired $150k via SAFE.

Fundraising is information work.
Your initial package shows whether you control the essentials.

How-to-Reply-When-Investors-Reach-Out

To me, the biggest illusion about AI agents in 2025 is thinking they’re just “tools”.
They’re not.
They’re coordination systems.
And coordination systems reshape industries, not interfaces.

If you look at the new AI Agents Roadmap, the shift is obvious:
the move from single agents to multi-agent teams is the real breaking point.

Agents don’t just generate text anymore.
They plan, reason, search, retrieve information, trigger workflows, analyze documents, operate browsers, call APIs, and they do it together.

One agent writing code is automation.
Ten agents with shared memory and defined roles is a company without employees.

Look at what's already happening:
finance teams, legal teams, design teams, research teams, all rebuilt as multi-agent structures with shared long-term memory and autonomous planning.
This isn’t automation.
This is coordination at machine scale.

Most founders still miss the most important part:

It’s not about the model.
It’s about the architecture.

The roadmap shows four quiet shifts:

1. RAG stops being retrieval and becomes reasoning.
Corrective RAG, Autonomous RAG, Vision RAG, Hybrid Search, Database Routing,
this is no longer search; it’s a cognitive system.

2. Memory stops being a feature and becomes identity.
Agents that remember you, adapt to you, hold long-term context, and build personal continuity.

3. MCP stops being a protocol and becomes a nervous system.
Agents controlling browsers, GitHub, Notion, travel apps, all through a shared interface for action.


4. Multi-agent teams stop being demos and become organizations.
Legal, financial, analytics, and product teams, all automated, modular, and scalable.

Humans have intelligence.
What we don’t have is parallelism.
We can’t share memory instantly.
We don’t think in thousands of threads.

AI agents don’t beat us in understanding.
They beat us in throughput.

If I were building today, I’d completely ignore the hype around “a single agent”.
The future belongs to founders who treat agents not as assistants,
but as teams.
