➡️ As a critical enabler of Continuous Delivery, I drastically reduced the deploy times from 4 - 5 hours to less than 15 - 30 minutes by enabling the entire ecosystem to use feature toggles and 100% automatic deploys in multiple pre-live environments and tear down deploy times.

➡️ Ensured a highly efficient data tracking process by architecting a solution that could handle at a minimum of 45 000 - 50 000 products, read in 15 seconds, by implementing a CQRS + Event Sourcing architecture, optimized for maximum read performance. The architectural style chosen comes with auditing and undo features baked in.

➡️ The solution was highly maintainable and reliable, as it was covered entirely by unit tests, API level tests, and contract tests.

It was a significant pain because it transformed the e-commerce platform’s database into a central integration database, i.e. a bottleneck for changes required to support the ever-evolving e-commerce platform that was a significant revenue source.

➡️ Eradicated the bottleneck by envisioning and implementing a new, state of the art architecture, thus opening up a new era of possibilities, flexibility, and loose coupling, for the entire ecosystem of apps and microservices, present and future, implemented over 1+ year in carefully selected stages for 0 downtime.

➡️ Minimized the risk and increased the development speed of changes with 2x up to 4x by shifting the base implementation from SQL to .NET with a heavy unit test dose.

➡️ Ensured a successful transition to the new stack by optimizing rewrite costs and significantly increasing the development speed, robustness, and reliability of the app by creating a tailor-made CQRS architecture leading to rare conflicts, and <3 bugs per 2 weeks sprint.

➡️ Drastically improved the user’s ability to optimize stock costs by timely providing them updated critical data to make cost-effective buying decisions by highly optimizing the process of moving and processing 3.5 - 4 million data records in 40 minutes, down from 2 - 2.5 hours initially.

➡️ Achieved colossal time savings, from days to hours or minutes, for regular operations, by
designing a custom persistent queue fined tuned to carefully maximize the quantity of data sent to SAP on the one hand and keeping the server up and responsive on the other.

➡️ Adding a new SKU in the system reduced from 40 minutes to 5 - 10 minutes while making a product sellable from a branch office reduced from 10 minutes/branch to 1 minute no matter the number of branches.

I had to leverage all my skills across multiple windows desktop technologies as well as installers.

🔰 DISK IMAGING SOLUTION

To increase the user base of their suite of backup products, the client wanted to enhance them with disk imaging features. That is, to create exact hard drive copies, the operating system included while it was running.

➡️ Achieved a powerful initial proof of concept by successfully delivering this incredibly technical, challenging, and 100% custom-built project, obtaining performance in the range of 5-20% to the market’s top product (Acronis True Image) by doing extensive research in the field and designing an algorithm that optimized the data size/read count ration for best results.

➡️ The solution backed up a 4 GB volume in only 4 minutes, only a few seconds slower than
Acronis.

➡️ Good results were obtained even with compression, matching the market leader’s compressed size in about 50% longer time. This is a remarkable result for a one-person project over 2 - 3 months vs. an entire company built around disk imaging.
