5 signs your current career strategy is a ticking time bomb:

	1.	You haven’t updated your LinkedIn in 6+ months
	2.	No one outside your company knows what you do

I made the same mistake at the peak of my corporate career.

I thought a strong results, and internal credibility
meant I was safe.

I thought staying quiet was “professional.”
That visibility was risky.
That loyalty would be rewarded.

Then I watched restructurings wipe out people with 20+ years of experience.
AI accelerate faster than job titles.
And brilliant leaders become “redundant” overnight.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
Invisibility feels safe until it becomes your biggest risk.

Most leaders hit by restructuring aren’t weak performers.
They’re strong operators with zero external positioning.

Inside the company: respected.
Outside the company: unknown.

And if your value disappears the moment your corporate email does,
that’s not stability.

That’s fragility.

The leaders who will survive what’s coming
aren’t louder, younger, or trendier.

They’re visible before they need to be.

Sit with that.
Then rethink how you’re positioning yourselfwhile you still have the choice.

I might lose friends over this, but:

Staying in one company for 15+ years without building external relevance is career suicide in 2026.

Here’s why I’m willing to bet my reputation on it:

Because loyalty doesn’t protect you anymore.

AI eliminates roles. Restructuring is constant. And the longer you stay invisible in one company, the harder it is to pivot when you’re forced to.

I’m not saying quit your job.

I’m saying build Career Autonomy WHILE you’re employed.

So when the time comes(and it will)you have options.

Most people ignore “feeling invisible at work.”

They think: “It’s fine. I’m still getting my paycheck.”

But in 6 months, that turns into:

	•	Being passed over for promotions
	•	Being “too expensive” during restructuring

Because the cost of staying invisible is higher than the cost of building visibility.

Here’s how it proves whether Career Autonomy is actually working:

If your profile visits are only from colleagues, you’re building internal visibility. That’s good.

But if your profile visits are from recruiters, industry leaders, and potential clients? You’re building Career Autonomy.

The difference?

Internal visibility keeps you employed.

External visibility gives you options.


Where are your profile visits coming from?

The last ten days fundamentally altered the rhythm of our lives.

The disruptions we are experiencing now remind me of how deeply interconnected we truly are.

My days are usually spent helping leaders find their voice, build their presence, and navigate corporate challenges. 

But this week, the conversations have shifted. 

I have spoken with brilliant professionals who are struggling to focus, leaders who are trying to project strength while quietly managing their own anxieties, and expatriates who are constantly checking their phones for news from home or worrying about the safety of their loved ones.

We often talk about "bringing our whole selves to work," but what does that mean when our whole selves are exhausted, worried, and grieving?

In my 15 years of professional experience, I have learned that true leadership is not about having all the answers or maintaining a facade of invulnerability. 

It is about holding space for the uncomfortable realities. 

It is about acknowledging that it is okay if productivity is not at 100% right now. 

It is about looking at the person across the table (or the screen) and recognizing their humanity before their job title.

The human disruption is what requires our immediate attention. 
We cannot simply "business as usual" our way through this.

To the leaders reading this: 
Your teams are watching how you respond. 

They don't need you to solve the geopolitical crisis. 
They need you to show empathy. 
They need you to offer flexibility. 

They need you to say, "I know this is hard, and I am here to support you."

To the professionals feeling overwhelmed: 
Your silence right now is not a sign of weakness; it is a natural response to trauma and uncertainty. 
But please, do not isolate yourself. 
Reach out to your network, lean on your colleagues, and give yourself the grace to process what is happening.

Resilience does not mean ignoring the pain; it means moving through it together.

Check on your colleagues. 
Be patient with your clients. 

And above all, be kind to yourselves.

Being the smartest person in the room means nothing if you don't speak up.

If you can't express your idea at the right moment, in the right way it's as if you never had it at all.

There were moments in my career when nothing was "technically wrong."

And yet, I couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

The title was strong.
The trajectory looked impressive.
People respected what I was building.

But inside, there was friction.

📌 I remember one season very clearly.

I was delivering at a high level.
People relied on me.
I was the one fixing, advising, carrying.

And still… I felt smaller than my potential.

Not because I lacked skill.
Not because I lacked ambition.

But because I was operating inside a frame I had already outgrown.

I didn’t have language for it at the time.

So I did what high-performers do.

- pressed on more hard work.
- I added more.
- I tried to optimize what was already “good.”

Hayat was stuck at Senior Manager for 3 years.

She stopped drowning in to-do lists. We repositioned her as someone who thinks about vision, priorities, and direction.

Her boss finally started seeing her differently.

2. 𝐀𝐭 𝐑𝐄𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐇𝐈𝐏𝐒 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥:

She stopped waiting for everything to be flawless before sharing it. We shifted her to "done and improved beats perfect and hidden."

Her ideas finally got traction because people could see them.

4. 𝐀𝐭 𝐓𝐄𝐀𝐌 𝐃𝐘𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐈𝐂𝐒 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥: 
 ↳ 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐋𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐫 → 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫
She stopped doing everything herself to "ensure quality." We helped her develop others and multiply her impact.

She stopped burning out and started building real influence.

5. 𝐀𝐭 𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐂𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥: 
 ↳ 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐫 → 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞
She stopped hiding behind her deliverables. We worked on speaking up, sharing her insights, and owning her wins.

Leadership started pulling her into bigger conversations.

The result?

Six months later, she called me from a Convention Center in Jeddah: 

she was promoted to Director.

Not because she worked harder. Because she thought differently.

These weren't just cute reframes. They were 5 out of the 12 exact shifts that made her leadership-ready.

If you're stuck at mid-level, this is your sign.

You don't need to work harder. You need to shift how you show up.

Some days I feel like a mind-reader.

Around 70% of the time, I’m the one who reaches out first.
And almost every reply sounds the same:

“Wow… I needed this today. How did you know?”

Here’s the truth:

Most people don’t know what they need. 
They just know they’re tired, irritated, stuck… and can’t name it.

Psychology has a word for that: 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐲𝐦𝐢𝐚 — difficulty identifying and describing emotions. Resulting in:

→ Low emotional clarity 
→ higher stress/anxiety over time
→ lower likelihood of asking for support.

So no, I’m not reading minds.
I’m reading patterns.

- “I’m fine, just busy” (for the third year in a row)
- Promotions that never match your potential
- Talk about a big ambition… and laugh it off with a quick joke to shrink it

Self-awareness research also shows a consistent gap between how we see ourselves and how others experience us.

That gap is where blind spots, stagnation, and quiet burnout live.

That’s why an external message can feel 𝐭𝐨𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞:

Your brain is busy protecting your identity (“I’m strong, I can handle it”), 
not spotlighting your needs.

A coach simply holds up a mirror you haven’t used yet.

If this feels uncomfortably familiar, take it as data.

You don’t need the perfect sentence.
Just the honest one:

“Something isn’t working anymore. I’m ready to look at it.”

𝐏𝐒. 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭?

Ramadan isn’t a “low-energy month.”
It’s a different operating system.

Yes—working hours are already adjusted in GCC

But support isn’t just about 'changing the schedule'.

It’s about changing the expectations, the rhythm, and the culture.

Especially in a cross-culture workplace. Here are a few reminders:


1) Don’t confuse “shorter hours” with “lighter responsibility.”
People can still deliver big outcomes in Ramadan.

In my experience, Ramadan was among my 'highest productivity' seasons.

Not because I did more.

Because I did less… with more intention.

2) Expect the coffee-withdrawal days.
Headaches. Lower patience. Slower reaction time.

Not a character issue. A body issue.

Lead accordingly.


3) Be strategic with meeting timing (especially late afternoon).
Avoid heavy, high-stakes meetings right before iftar.

Energy dips are real—especially in the first week.


4) Replace “hours watched” with “outputs agreed.”
Ramadan is the month to run on clarity:

- What matters this week?
- What can wait?
- What is the one deliverable that moves the needle?


5) Allow micro-breaks without guilt.
A 7-minute reset can save a 2-hour crash.

Normalize it.

6) Respect the last 10 Days.
Some colleagues will want time off, lighter loads, or flexibility.

This is not “less commitment.”

For many, it’s the most spiritually significant stretch of the year.

7) Remember what Ramadan means for that colleague practising it.
A month that forces perspective:

Why we’re here.
What we chase.
And what it feels like to be hungry and thirsty—not by choice, but by reality.

Ramadan builds empathy (if we let it).

And yes—say it.
"Ramadan Mubarak."

My biggest career upgrades all started with this ↓.

(and no, it's not strategy)

They all started with one sentence:

“Who do you think you are?”

I remember a moment that still lives in my body.

I was about to make a decision that looked irrational on paper.

A safe role. A respected title. A comfortable “yes.”

And yet…

comfort had started to feel like confinement.

I sat with the noise:

“You’re ungrateful.”
“You’ll regret it.”
“You’ll never find a position like this again.” 

But the real gatekeeper was quieter:

Who do you think you are? 

That question is the same one keeping brilliant women stuck today.

Not because they lack skill.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥. 

Here’s what I learned the hard way:

Hard work takes you far.

But only identity takes you higher. 

So if you’re feeling restless in your current level…

don’t label it as “ungrateful.”

Sometimes it’s your next identity asking to be chosen.

I’ve been on LinkedIn since 2010.

But for years, I was 'present'… without being 'visible'.

I was existing. Not living.

This last year? I committed to showing up — and LinkedIn gave me back more than I expected.

Here’s what visibility changed for me (for real):

1) It gave me a community I could’ve never “networked” into

- I made friends I genuinely know better than people who live in my own city.
- People I had a 1-in-a-zillion chance of meeting.
- Opportunities + conversations that simply don’t exist offline.

2) It gave me my best business year ever
My clients may look “quiet” on LinkedIn… but '95% come from here.'

Visibility isn’t vanity.

It’s a pipeline.

3) It taught me discipline (and humbled my perfectionism)
8:30am KSA time is my posting time.

No matter what.

And yes — I’ve posted “imperfect” carousels because it was past midnight and I still couldn’t nail the design.

That moment taught me something my ego hated:

Perfect is not impressive.
Done is productive.

4) It forced me to unlearn how I was trained to write
I’m proud I wrote my PhD before ChatGPT.

But academic writing was often about proving something.

LinkedIn writing is different:

- you’re not proving
- you’re connecting
- you’re building trust, one insight at a time

I had to unlearn “performance writing” and learn “human writing.”

5) It showed me the truth about breakthroughs
You really are 'one post away'.

Some mornings you wake up to 59K… 96K impressions…

…and it doesn’t hit you until you remember:

That’s not “views.”

That’s 'stadium-level attention'.

And then the other side of the game:

Some of your most personal, well-crafted posts will struggle to hit 1K.

That’s not a failure.

That’s the tuition.



If you need the simple formula that changed my results, it’s this:

Post → collect data → study patterns → repeat.

If your entire life depends on one salary…

You’re not secure.
You’re exposed.

Maram was a 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭.

But she was 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐰 where she was actually operating.

And no—this doesn’t mean “start a business from scratch.”

It means you build 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐨 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 based on what you already know:

- advisory
- consulting
- fractional support
- coaching / training
- paid workshops
- paid expertise (not paid hours)

Stop asking: “𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐦𝐞?”
Start asking: “𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐈 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞—𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭?”

The market doesn’t pay for your job title.
It pays for your judgment.

Maram didn’t need “more motivation.”

I used to think that quantum career leaps are just a big lie.

Not because I didn’t believe in growth…

But because I was trying to grow without changing who I believed I was.

And when we do that, we interpret reality through inherited rules:

“Be patient.”
“Be realistic.”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself.”
“Leadership is for the ‘special ones.’”

None of that was mine.

It was passed down.
(And it’s expensive.)

Here are the 5 paradigms that kept me trapped in the “quantum leaps aren’t real” story. I see so many high-performing women stuck there too:

1) I believed progress had to be slow. One title at a time. One year at a time.
So I kept waiting for time to do what strategy should do.

2) I believed there were only a few “seats” and you had to be chosen.
So I optimized for approval instead of authority.

3) I believed being easy to work with was the fastest path up.
So I stayed polished… but quiet. Helpful… but forgettable.

4) I believed hard work speaks for itself.
So I overdelivered in silence and called it “humility.” (It was invisibility.)

5) I believed confidence is something you either have or you don’t.
So I waited to “feel ready”… while other people moved with half the competence and double the conviction.

Then I learned the real truth:

A quantum leap isn’t magic.

It’s an "identity recode."

Everything changes when we stop asking:
“Am I ready?”

And start deciding:
“This is who I am now.”

Because when you accept a new identity, you naturally:

- 'unwire' the old belief (“I’m not leadership material”)
- 'install' a new one (“I create outcomes, I lead decisions, I move rooms”)
- 'prove it' with visible consistent behavior (cleaner communication, sharper positioning, bolder asks, better boundaries)

That’s when the world responds.

I’ve seen it up close:

✅ Zainab was told she’s not “leadership material.”
We rebuilt her leadership identity, changed how she communicated her value, and she walked into a "major jump in both title and pay."

𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐝. 𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝.

Let me explain.

Your brain is running an "old map" that says 

if you just work harder, you'll be invited to the table. 

But in the boardroom, perception is reality. 

If your internal movie still casts you in a support role, that is exactly how the room will treat you.

Here are the 6 shifts to rewire your leadership identity:

1- 𝐔𝐩𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐞: Stop hoping to be taken seriously; start projecting that you are already the leader in the room.

2- 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐩: "I'm not ready" is often just a familiar feeling, not a fact. Challenge it.

3- 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬: Stop using "just" in emails. Create a physical trigger to access your most powerful state before high-stakes talks.

4- Reframe the Outcome: If someone takes credit, don't shut down. See the "visibility gap" and pivot to: "I led that—here is the data".

5- 𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭 𝐁𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐟𝐬: Being "bad at politics" isn't a personality trait; it’s a program you can uninstall.

6- 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐚𝐠𝐞: Swap "Sorry to take up time" for "My recommendation is...".

👉 The Revelation: Promotions don’t go to the best performer. 
They go to whoever signals they are already operating at the next level.

Stop trying to out-perform an identity you haven't upgraded yet.

You’re doing this wrong. Here’s why.

When asked for updates, most high performers 'explain'.

But Leaders always opt for 'framing'.

Explaining sounds like a long story:

- what happened
- why it happened
- how hard it was
- every detail you touched

Framing sounds like:
“Here’s the decision. Here’s the impact. Here’s what I need.”

If you want to be seen as Director-level, start speaking in 'decision language'.

Because the room doesn’t reward the most detailed person.
It rewards the 'clearest' person.

𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐞’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐮𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 (5 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬):

1. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 → 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞
  “I worked on X” → “X is now at Y result (and it changes Z).”

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟: “I worked on the Q1 report and updated the deck.”
𝐒𝐚𝐲: “Q1 deck is finalized and aligned with Finance. Outcome: we can sign off the forecast tomorrow and unblock the exec review.”

2. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 → 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥
  “Let me give context…” → “The key point you need is this: ___.”

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟: “Quick context—last week we had delays because Vendor A…”
𝐒𝐚𝐲: “Key signal: Vendor A is now the bottleneck. If we don’t switch by Friday, launch moves by 2 weeks.”

3. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 → 𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐤
  “This took longer than expected” → “Risk: ___ / Mitigation: ___ / Decision needed: ___.”

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟:“This took longer than expected because the data was messy.”
𝐒𝐚𝐲: “Risk: reporting accuracy drops if we ship with incomplete data. Mitigation: run a 24-hour validation. Decision needed: approve a 1-day shift or accept reduced confidence.”

4. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐬 → 𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬
  “We’re stuck because…” → “We have 3 options. I recommend B because ___.”

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟: “We’re stuck because stakeholders keep changing requirements.”
𝐒𝐚𝐲: “We have 3 options:
A) Freeze ...
B) Add ...
C) Split .....
I recommend B to protect quality and avoid rework.”

5. 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 → 𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
  “Can I…?” → “Decision required: approve ___ by ___ so we can deliver ___.”

𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟: “Can I move resources from Project X to help this?”
𝐒𝐚𝐲: “Decision required: reassign 1 analyst from Project X for 10 days so we can hit the regulatory deadline. If approved today, we stay on track.”

Here's a bonus: Try this 15-second Director-level structure:

𝐃𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧: ___

𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝: ___ (owner + deadline)

Tuesday morning. 9:07 AM.
She opens her laptop. Same desk. Same role. Same routine.

But something's different.

Or.

Strap on the AI jetpack. Do the routine in minutes instead of hours. Then walk into your manager's office and say:

"Now that this is handled — what strategic work should I be owning?"

That's not being replaced. That's being positioned.

The women who move up were never the most qualified. They were the most adaptable.

Walk in with the “already-aligned” version:
“I pressure-tested this with X and Y. Here’s what we’re recommending.”

That’s influence.

And yes—this is why average performers outrun brilliant ones:
They don’t manage tasks.
They manage momentum.

Nobody talks about this enough:
Leadership isn’t blocked by lack of talent.

I’ve seen it in high-performing women across the GCC:

- Degrees. Results. Reputation.
- Yet still waiting. Still “preparing.” Still self-editing.

→ You choose safety over trajectory

→ You over-credit others
→ You assume leadership is “for different women”

→ You wait for permission
→ You hope someone notices
→ You stay excellent… privately

That’s the invisible tax.

Not talent.
Not effort.
A belief.


Here’s the reframe I want you to adopt starting today:

𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝.
You need to become:

✅ 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 on your value
✅ 𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 in the right rooms
✅ 𝐖𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 to take strategic risks
✅ 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃𝐘 to claim space before perfect
✅ 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐌𝐈𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐃 to growth (even when confidence fluctuates)

Because the women you admire?

They didn’t start “exceptional.”
They became trusted.
They became visible.
They kept moving 'before' they felt fully ready.

Don’t ask because you finally feel ready.
Ask because you’re ready to grow.

The Lie That Delays careers More Than Lack of Talent

There was a point in my life I thought "I could do it all on my own." 

Then life humbled me.

So, if like me, you feel

You don’t lack talent.
You don’t lack ambition.
You don’t lack education.

But still something is off. Check this out.

What you might lack… is access.

And access feels personal.

“I don’t have the right network.”
“I’m not in the right circles.”
“Without wasta, I’ll hit a ceiling.”

But here’s the uncomfortable truth:

The belief itself becomes the ceiling.

When you think you’re excluded,
you ask for less.
You show yourself less.
You wait instead of positioning.

Meanwhile, promotions still happen in informal spaces.
Not always fair.
But predictable.

And predictable means strategic.

You don’t need 100 connections.
You don’t need a boys’ club.
You need 3–5 people who:

• Have seen you deliver
• Respect your judgment
• Will say your name in rooms you’re not in

That’s your leverage "safety belt."

In 2026, your “wasta” isn’t who your family knows.

It’s your track record.
Your visibility.
Your advocates.

The system may not be perfect.

But you can build access intentionally.

Who has seen your best work?
