5 signs your current career strategy is a ticking time bomb:

I made the same mistake at the peak of my corporate career.

I thought a strong results, and internal credibility
meant I was safe.

I thought staying quiet was “professional.”
That visibility was risky.
That loyalty would be rewarded.

Then I watched restructurings wipe out people with 20+ years of experience.
AI accelerate faster than job titles.
And brilliant leaders become “redundant” overnight.

Here’s the uncomfortable truth:
Invisibility feels safe until it becomes your biggest risk.

Most leaders hit by restructuring aren’t weak performers.
They’re strong operators with zero external positioning.

Inside the company: respected.
Outside the company: unknown.

And if your value disappears the moment your corporate email does,
that’s not stability.

That’s fragility.

The leaders who will survive what’s coming
aren’t louder, younger, or trendier.

They’re visible before they need to be.

Sit with that.
Then rethink how you’re positioning yourselfwhile you still have the choice.

I might lose friends over this, but:

Staying in one company for 15+ years without building external relevance is career suicide in 2026.

Here’s why I’m willing to bet my reputation on it:

Because loyalty doesn’t protect you anymore.

AI eliminates roles. Restructuring is constant. And the longer you stay invisible in one company, the harder it is to pivot when you’re forced to.

I’m not saying quit your job.

I’m saying build Career Autonomy WHILE you’re employed.

So when the time comes(and it will)you have options.


Do you have options? Or are you hoping loyalty will save you?

Most people ignore “feeling invisible at work.”

They think: “It’s fine. I’m still getting my paycheck.”

But in 6 months, that turns into:

	•	Being passed over for promotions
	•	Being “too expensive” during restructuring
	•	Being eliminated because “no one knows what you do”

Are you ignoring it?

Because the cost of staying invisible is higher than the cost of building visibility.


When was the last time someone outside your company asked for your expertise?

I track one metric that most people ignore:

“Profile visits from people OUTSIDE your company.”

Here’s how it proves whether Career Autonomy is actually working:

If your profile visits are only from colleagues, you’re building internal visibility. That’s good.

But if your profile visits are from recruiters, industry leaders, and potential clients? You’re building Career Autonomy.

The difference?

Internal visibility keeps you employed.

External visibility gives you options.


Where are your profile visits coming from?

The last ten days fundamentally altered the rhythm of our lives.

The disruptions we are experiencing now remind me of how deeply interconnected we truly are.

My days are usually spent helping leaders find their voice, build their presence, and navigate corporate challenges. 

But this week, the conversations have shifted. 

I have spoken with brilliant professionals who are struggling to focus, leaders who are trying to project strength while quietly managing their own anxieties, and expatriates who are constantly checking their phones for news from home or worrying about the safety of their loved ones.

We often talk about "bringing our whole selves to work," but what does that mean when our whole selves are exhausted, worried, and grieving?

In my 15 years of professional experience, I have learned that true leadership is not about having all the answers or maintaining a facade of invulnerability. 

It is about holding space for the uncomfortable realities. 

It is about acknowledging that it is okay if productivity is not at 100% right now. 

It is about looking at the person across the table (or the screen) and recognizing their humanity before their job title.

The human disruption is what requires our immediate attention. 
We cannot simply "business as usual" our way through this.

To the leaders reading this: 
Your teams are watching how you respond. 

They don't need you to solve the geopolitical crisis. 
They need you to show empathy. 
They need you to offer flexibility. 

They need you to say, "I know this is hard, and I am here to support you."

To the professionals feeling overwhelmed: 
Your silence right now is not a sign of weakness; it is a natural response to trauma and uncertainty. 
But please, do not isolate yourself. 
Reach out to your network, lean on your colleagues, and give yourself the grace to process what is happening.

Resilience does not mean ignoring the pain; it means moving through it together.

Check on your colleagues. 
Be patient with your clients. 

And above all, be kind to yourselves.

Being the smartest person in the room means nothing if you don't speak up.

If you can't express your idea at the right moment, in the right way it's as if you never had it at all.

I had 539 "coffees meetings" in 2025.

I'm done.

I don't know which guru told expats:

"have 3 coffees with them and then talk business"

Because I've realized I either end up getting pitched.

OR get that "sense" of a hidden agenda.

OR it becomes a clear "consult me for free as I distract you with a potential partnership".

Confession: I accepted some of those meetings only because I had a headache and needed coffee.

So the phrases I suggest you run away from:

- "Let's COLLABORATE" - collaborate on what?
- "Let's explore SYNERGIES" - synergy who?
- "Let's EXPLORE" - explore what?

These people want to "see what you do" but don't need it.

They want to "keep you in mind" but really don't care.

They want to "explore synergies" when there are no synergies.

It's just "look at me work" disguised as business development.

The coffee culture & tradition is beautiful.

The "coffee meeting" culture is a toxic version of it.

It's now being abused.

You don't need more coffee meetings.

You need fewer meetings with the right people.

Filter, then filter, then filter.

And protect your calendar.

The right "synergy" will come without the mandatory "coffee"

Your time is worth more than a Karak.

Your audience prefers ChatGPT over paying you. 

(your job is done - complete CINEMA)

The LinkedIn feed has become a ChatGPT chat.

- The posts are "correct" but they're empty
- The frameworks are clean but have no life
- The comments are long but say nothing

Then when engagement drops, they say "THE ALGO!".

People are not dumb, they "feel" when it's AI.

- "Not A. Not B. Not C."
- "It's not X, it's Y."
- "Here's the thing:"

And you know what else they feel?

That you don't care about their time.

You tell me, which one would you choose:

1. A book that's completely written with AI
2. A book that's handwritten

Exactly.

Another question:

How would you write an important email to a very important person?

You'd even handwrite if it wasn't awkward right?

Exactly "again".

That's why your content is not working.

AI is EINSTEIN-level genius.

But it'll never know the weight of opening LinkedIn with nothing to say but posting anyway because you can't afford to disappear.

It will never know what it's like to transfer your savings into a business while telling your family "it's going well".

It will never know what it feels like to smile on a discovery call while your bank account is screaming.

It will never know the loneliness of building something that nobody around you understands.

That's what gives "soul" to anything that comes from you.

(even "rewriting" with AI hurts you)

Be human, and stay human.

Otherwise, people would rather talk to GPT instead of you.

I have 13 employees...1 is human.

(the human costs 42x more)

Everyone says they "use AI".

I ask them how:

"I open ChatGPT, type something, copy paste, done."

If you hired a consultant. and gave them ZERO context about your business.

Then, you asked them 1 vague question.

You wouldn't expect world-class results.

You'd even fire them asap.

But that's exactly how you're "using" AI.

And end up blaming the technology.

"But AI doesn't write like me".

Here's what I did instead:

I stopped using AI.

I started hiring it.

Think of it this way:

Every AI agent gets a proper CV (like humans).

- They have a soul (interest & personality)
- They have skills (education & certificates)
- They have experiences (learnings from doing)

My copy AI writes better than a copy writer I hired in 2020 for $4k/mo.

I named all of them:

1. Mohammad is the CEO (reports to me)
2. Maitha is his secretary (admin work)
3. Mansour is the LinkedIn specialist

(don't judge)

They ask for a $20/month salary.

Without "notice periods" or "we need to talk".

And when one underperforms, I don't call HR.

I don't schedule an awkward meeting.

I hit delete and they're fired.

Exactly.

I'm not saying fire your whole team.

I'm saying you're doing the work of 13 people when you could hire all 13 for $20/month.

Unless your time is worth $20/month?

Your AI can work 24 hours.

They don't call in sick.

They don't quit.

They get BETTER every week.

You tell me:

Why are you still doing everything yourself?

My guess:

"You don't know where to begin"

(that's what I hear the most)

That's the only barrier.

Once you hire your first one, you won't go back.

That viral AI adoption graph is a LIE.

(insider info from my industry)

"Only 0.34% of people truly use AI"

You read that & felt special for using ChatGPT.

You felt like Einstein.

And that's by design.

It's a pat on the back for YOU. 

And the perfect sales pitch for THEM.

I was also happy when I saw those stats too.

I wanted it to be true so I leverage it.

But I proved it wrong after research.

ChatGPT has 900 million weekly active users.

AI hit 1.2 billion users in under 3 years.

It's the fastest adopted technology in history.

It's faster than the internet.

It's faster than the smartphone.

In the UAE, we have the highest adoption in the world.

64% of the working population uses AI tools.

97% of government entities use AI.

And globally, 94% of companies use AI in at least one function.

So why does that graph keep going viral?

Because "only 0.34% use AI" sells better than "everyone already has it".

That feeling of "being behind" makes you buy:

- Courses & memberships
- Consulting packages
- Coaching and masterminds

(all built on the promise that you're "early")

I hate to say this, but you're not early.

You were a couple of months ago.

But not today.

Being "AI-first" is no longer a selling point.

It's expected.

Your clients assume you're using it.

If you're not, something feels off to them.

They just won't tell you why they went somewhere else.

The question isn't "should I learn AI?"

That ship has sailed.

The question is "what am I building with it?"

You keep saying "I'll learn AI later, inshallah".

We know that'll never happen.

I get it... you're not technical.

Also, you have no clue where to begin.

And you don't know what a terminal is and honestly don't want to.

Every time someone brings up AI you think:

- "That's for tech people"
- "I don't have time for this"
- "I'll figure it out when it gets simpler"

You downloaded ChatGPT and use it like Google.

You maybe use it to write a LinkedIn post.

Or ask it something about your cat.

And you think you "use AI".

(I apologize, but you don't)

Only 0.04% of people "properly" use AI right now.

There's a high chance you're in the 99.96%.

And you're in a country that has a Minister of AI.

A country that invested AED 543 billion in AI.

A country running at 97% government AI adoption.

The country moved into the future. 

And you haven't.

But that's not a you problem.

The barrier was never intelligence.

The barrier was never being "technical".

The barrier was seeing HOW it works.

I broke that barrier for a non-technical person today.

Her first words:

"OMG Adham what would happen to all these jobs this is crazy"

(she also said: "McKinsey is so done")

She went from 99.96% to 0.04% in one hour.

That's your way in.

Find your someone, and come to the dark side.

"I get WAY more likes when I post my pic"

(now, we can be ugly + famous)

99% of posts in 2025 had an image for MORE "likes".

A lot of it was borderline inappropriate - I felt uncomfortable even engaging.

But then, they ran out of images you know?

And started recycling images over again.

(remember the "I'm 55 years old and..." trend?)

But for the past 6 months, I've seen text only posts do WELL.

It shows that LinkedIn picked up on the tactics:

1. content strategy
2. carousel, font, colors
3. hooks, re-hooks, CTA 

And they wanted to remind people on how to just "write".

We overcomplicated the one thing that was supposed to be simple.

JUST writing.

I'm not against posting images.

I do it too because I also want "people to know my face".

But I've noticed that when you strip everything away and just focus on the words, the message finds its audience.

It's the shift from "social media" to "interest media".

 Don't post anything about your plans.

 You don't want him/her mad right?

 I know, you are:

- leaving around 6 pm every day (with traffic)
- having that 15-min call while playing with your kids
- already planning a meeting when on leave

 It's ok, they're happy so far...right?

 Think positively:

 - That 3 year overdue promotion will come
 - You'll get a pat on your back for your extra work
 - Maybe you get to travel with your family some "year"

Don't worry about your childhood dreams.

They're not important.

Don't think about "impacting the world".

You're doing a good job in your office.

Don't look at your bank account.

You'll be a millionaire for sure...some day.

But honestly answer this:

NOTE: don't comment, your boss will see.

 Was this what the 10-year-old you wanted?

 Was this the life you dreamed of the day you graduated?

 What happened?

 All those work calls & emails marked "urgent" are really not.

All those fires burning can burn a little longer.

 (it can all wait)

 But your life has been in emergency for years.

 Now let me say this with genuine care:

 You put yourself in this spot.

 It's not the "I have bills you don't get it".

It's not "life is not fair and just happens".

 It's YOU.

 The good news: it's easy to change.

 You're already being paid for something by the market.

You have the AI super power in your hands to outwork and outcompete anyone you want.

 You just need decide.

 Don't worry about:

- Conflict of interest marketing yourself
- Uncertainty of a consistent & safe income
- Starting from 0 with no corporate leverage

None of those will matter when your "boss" decides to kick you out.

 The point is, you can have:

- MORE time with your kids
- MORE money in the bank
- MORE travel days in a year

Without you spending half your life in traffic.

Stop funding a business with your life.

Start funding your life with YOUR business.

That you run with your own rules.

(without work calling every 20 minutes)

 Read this.

Don't comment.

 Your boss is watching us.

(enjoy your ride home)

You won't let a boss tell you what to do.

But ChatGPT is fine?

It's odd because many left jobs because they "couldn't be told what to do". 

Now, they ask AI what to post, write, or say.

They replaced their Kafeel (sponsor) with a machine.

And it "feels acceptable".

The economy is splitting into two groups.

Economists call it the K-shaped economy.

(I've drawn a nice doodle below)

The upper line: People who tell AI what to do.

The lower line: People who get told by AI what to do.

Both use the same AI tools, but the outcomes vary.

Here are some stats that should concern you:

- Employees with AI skills earn 56% more in the same job
- That premium doubled in a single year
- 90% of workers haven't taken a single minute of AI training

And Goldman Sachs says 300 million jobs will be affected by 2028.

That's only 24 months away.

When you open ChatGPT, what do you ask?

If it's "What should I post today?" - you're on the lower line.

If it's "Help me build a system that does X while I sleep." - you're on the upper line.

You're either managing or being managed.

Yalla, you have 2 years to decide which line you're on.

After that, the gap won't be crossable.

Are you an "Arbab" or not?

I went through all 341 posts I wrote in 19 months.

(most of what I believed was wrong)

I thought my best content was my smartest content.

The "MASSIVE value" posts (Tony Robbins style).

Or the posts that were "useful".

But the data told me I was wrong.

My worst 20 posts averaged 37 engagements.

My best 20 averaged 283.

That's a 7.6x gap.

And it had nothing to do with how "valuable" the content was.

My personal stories outperformed everything else by 36%.

Every time I talked about quitting my $300k PhD, going broke, starting from zero...people didn't just like the post.

They stopped scrolling and typed.

The comment-to-like ratio on personal stories was 0.59.

And 0.40 on my "smart" AI content.

People here don't engage with information.

They engage with TRANSFORMATION.

50 of my posts were pure AI content with a "smart" hook.

They averaged 85 engagements.

Which is 30% below my average.

Those 50 posts made up nearly 15% of everything I wrote.

And they were dragging this entire account down.

But when I wrapped AI inside a personal story or case study, the numbers jumped right back up.

It was the same exact topic.

But it got a COMPLETELY different result.

I also found that my best posts were almost twice as long as my worst.

- Winners: 384 words, 45 short paragraphs
- Losers: 222 words, 25 paragraphs

With more empty lines (like this ^).

And the emotional arc mattered more than the content itself.

My top 3 posts started with pain & ended with hope.

My bottom posts stayed flat.

"My client Sally made $5" just flops. 

You don't need more content.

You don't need to post every single day.

You need the right 100 people reading the right story at the right time.

That's worth more than 10,000 followers scrolling past your "valuable" post.

The data doesn't lie.

And it doesn't care about how smart you sound.

It only cares about how much you make people feel.
