I started my professional journey at the age of 18, back in 2012, in luxury tourism and its e-commerce sector, handling direct sales and community management for a travel agency, all while pursuing my studies at university.

One question crossed my mind one day:

"J’ai pas besoin de leads sur LinkedIn, j’ai déjà du bouche-à-oreille" (un client m’a dit ça hier, en pensant que c’était un bon argument)

Traduction : "je suis confortable, je ne veux pas me mettre en scène”

Le problème, c'est que le confort crée une illusion de sécurité.

Le bouche-à-oreille n’est pas une stratégie, mais une chance.

Et cette chance repose sur trois variables que vous ne contrôlez pas :

- la forme du réseau
- la loyauté de vos clients
- la mémoire des gens
(donc tout peut s’effondrer en un seul projet raté, ou une recommandation qui ne se fait pas)

Voici mes 4 contre-arguments "pour" LinkedIn: 

1/ Le bouche-à-oreille fonctionne, jusqu’au jour où il ne fonctionne plus.

LinkedIn n’est pas une urgence quand tout va bien, mais une assurance quand le cycle ralentit.

2/ Si tout votre business dépend de ce que les autres disent de vous, vous ne contrôlez ni le message, ni le timing.

LinkedIn, c’est le seul endroit où votre réputation vous appartient.
(re-lisez, s'il vous plaît) 

3/ Les experts que j’accompagne n’ont pas besoin de leads non plus.

Ils ont besoin de traces, car demain, un appel d’offre, un podcast ou un partenaire fera d’abord une recherche Google (et pas un café avec un ancien client).

4 / Le bouche-à-oreille c'est du marketing passif
(= qui s’éteint après chaque projet)

LinkedIn c'est  marketing cumulatif
(= qui se renforce à chaque post)

Le bouche-à-oreille dépend du contexte.

La reconnaissance publique vous rend indépendant de ce dernier.

Ne pas être actif/-ve sur LinkedIn, c’est déléguer sa crédibilité à d’autres.

P.S. Et les leads entrants, vous pouvez très bien les accueillir dans une liste d'attente, avec la même exigence que pour la suite éventuelle.

Ils ne viendront pas tout de suite, et sûrement pas sur commande (si seulement ce bouton magique existait)
