I was required to weigh up the pros and cons of taking on various companies as clients as well as conduct research to ensure that we knew and assessed every relevant detail about the company. This heavy scrutiny and adequate background research required in the insurance industry helped me hone my attention-to-detail skills.

Whilst at Aon's Botswana Office, I worked alongside several brokers and trainee brokers who gave me a deeper insight into the world of insurance law. I attended various board meetings where I learned about the crucial system used to assess other businesses and determine their liability in any incident.

In addition, it was very interesting to see the difference between the operation of Botswana's insurance law and that of the UK.
