Oil giants like Schlumberger would hire for roles in Iraq from IIT Bombay, and pay 40-50L in 2014

Worth 60-70L today, they would pay 2-3x McKinsey

But they also had a clause where they would pay ransom if you got kidnapped once, but not the second time

High pay, life risk

Incredible that people spend best young years attempting an exam that they may not be fit

JEE keeping attempts limited to 2 years was the best thing

India has just 5 firms with a market cap of greater than $100B, with the youngest being Airtel at 31 years old

US has 89 firms, the youngest being AppLovin at 13 years old

China has 17 with the youngest being PinDuoDuo at 10 years

India needs more $100B cos who are also young

This is crazy. 

Tesla is the ONLY electric car company on the planet that has generated a positive free cash flow in its lifetime.

It's cumulative cash flow has been +$16bn. Miles ahead of - 
→ Rivian at -$22.4bn
→ Ford's EV unit at -$12.7bn
→ Nio at -$10.7bn
→ Vinfast at -$7.8bn

All of these losses have happened within each company's first 5-10 years.

This is pretty normal for the EV industry, which has MASSIVE upfront Capex (on factories, tech, and manpower) and long product development cycles with weak monetization.

In other words, no one wants to buy your cars until everyone wants to buy your cars.

Tesla has not only become profitable but also generates enough FCF to fund growth internally. Very rare example of snowball-type growth in a hardware-based business.

The path to FCF positivity in EVs is extremely long. 

It took Tesla a decade and billions in funding. Most others don’t survive long enough to reach that stage. 

Obviously most other companies haven't reached that stage where the growth starts to reverse and compound, but then again - it shows you how powerful the first mover advantage has been in EVs.

Elon is truly in playing in a league of his own.
