Open Robotics

At Open Robotics, I was the "ROS Boss" of the Humble (LTS) release of ROS 2. This involved extensive collaboration with various stakeholders and the development of new infrastructure to streamline the release process.

To address a need in the testing process, I designed and implemented a Test Case Manager tool in Typescript. This tool automates the creation of test cases for different platform permutations and has been employed in several key releases, including ROS 2 Humble, ROS 2 Iron, and Gazebo Garden.

In addition to these responsibilities, I worked on various other projects that required a wide range of technical skills. These included debugging multithreaded executor issues, designing C++ client library features for Nvidia, contributing to NASA's VIPER mission, and integrating different UAV frameworks under a common API.

Robohub

As the Podcast Director at Robohub, I managed an international team and conducted over 100 interviews with key figures in the robotics field. The variety of our interviewees, from academics to industry leaders, allowed us to present a comprehensive view of the sector.

I led the team in expanding our podcast's monthly listenership from 2k to 120k and secured $20k in academic sponsorships. This growth and financial support helped to sustain our operations and extend our reach.

During my tenure, we produced and released 160 podcast episodes. This consistent output, combined with our increased listenership and financial support, illustrates my focus on steady growth and commitment to sharing knowledge in the robotics community.

Circuit Launch is a dedicated 31K sq ft, co-working and and vocational training facility for IOT, VR, AR, and other electronic HARDWARE startups.

Bay Area startups often use co-working spaces such as Incubators, Accelerators, and Shared Offices to develop their business models. Most of these spaces do not scale economically, or flexibly enough to suit teams in rapid growth, or teams that produce tangible products. In particular, electronic hardware startups face a shortage of spaces that can support their businesses from concept through early production runs.

Hardware startups find themselves in the awkward position of outstripping a simple office set-up, yet being unprepared to acquire their own manufacturing equipment and/or outsource expensive limited production runs.

We are based in the amazing Oakland, CA. The city is centrally located to the entire San Francisco Bay Area. Oakland is a major transit and transportation hub, and being located next to Oakland International Airport allows for last-minute overnight shipments and easy access to arriving visitors.

At Jorli, we are working to transform your old (or current) cell phone devices into a multi purpose security alarm system. It started as joke, when we created a motion alarm to prank family and friends. But then, users from all over the world began installing the app in older android devices, and placing them in strategic places around their homes (behind the door, on top of the windows, expensive electronic devices) to alert them when someone breaks in.

That's when we realize that we could solve a real problem with our app. With the current version, we were able to scale to over 3 million downloads. Next version is being developed based on the user feedback, catered to capitalize on their most immediate needs.

• Crew member on the training of the Dominican Republican Armed Forces (survival and combat techniques), in Santo Domingo, DR

• WayVirtual was the first company to bring the Street view to Brazil. ‘
• We used the same equipment that Google used to create the Street View in the United States.  
• We captured 360 images of entire cities in Brazil, 3 years before Google (Brazil) did. 
• Created the very first 360 music video (Fuja Lurdes).

• Nuvius intended to be a Web Based Operating System (a sort of Google Docs).  
• This was my very first company and we failed in raising the necessary funds for the enterprise. 
• We needed 2 million dollars to fund the creation of the technology, which would take about 2 years. 
• This process gave me some really important insights in how a company is structured, mistakes to avoid when choosing the managing team, and here I had my first experiences in pitching to investors.
