Now: I strive to be engaged, authentic and conscious of the world and people around me. I believe creative work is about moving the needle towards equal opportunity, shared voices, safe spaces and economic empowerment for all. I manage multidisciplinary project teams on a huge range of creative work. I fuel them with donuts, gifs, emojis and celebrating the wins. 

I believe in a growth mindset and have never met a problem I didn't want to solve. I focus on the strengths of my team and leverage my own strengths as a driven leader, risk taker, straight talker and trusted advisor on all projects. I’ve managed through more reorgs than I can count and always come out smiling, happy that my team is where they should be: change is a great way to grow.

Then: I have worked in design for 25 years with nearly 20 years experience managing people and projects. I’m most fulfilled when facilitating creative work that causes positive impacts in people’s lives, but find joy in working on behemoth brands. I’ve partnered with CCO’s and Principals to drive change in their agencies and studios.

In Grad school I began my journey with social justice issues around gender, race and economic disparities. While at W+K I had the opportunity to produce several important platforms addressing issues of inclusion,  opportunities for women of color and gender equality, supporting and executing on the strategic and creative visions of strong female leaders and creators.

The world right now: 🌊🌪️🌫️🗑️🔥but you’re still here, and so am I.

Curious where I’ve been?  Wondering if I fell off the face of the planet? DW, I didn’t give up.

I am working on some big things (for years)…

but I am human and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t struggling.

Like many of you, I’m hurting from the state of the world. It’s all A LOT. 
I’m overwhelmed.

I have health issues and anxiety and stress. Caregiving is harder than ever— because so does everyone else.

Staying centered and kind and hopeful takes all my will power. I falter daily.

The flood of info is a lot by design. It’s all distraction AND it all matters. Don’t put people or problems in hierarchies.

Truth: it’s not coming. It’s been here and the impact of (waves hands) ALL OF THIS is rippling through my connections and communities— more like a rip current than a wave.

Maybe you hade privilege and luck and resources that helped you ignore all this…but I know to my bones, it was a false sense of security.

Everyone will be touched by the fallout or an unstable government, unsustainable economic system, and a broken social contract.

No one will be spared if the climate or social order collapses. No one will be free if technofasc takes hold.

The one solace I take from this fact is that maybe now people will see we really are in this together.

It’s local, national, global.
It’s interconnected. 
It’s not one issue or one problem to fix.


What can you do?
Pause your spiral, and roll back your shoulders.
Drink a sip of water and don’t forget about ice.
Slow your scroll and take a deep breath.

What I CAN’T do today:
Pick one thing to rant on or one 🔥#HotTip. 

What I can do: tell you you are VERY MUCH NOT ALONE. 

Even the bravest of people take cover when the storm hits. Protecting yourself is not weak.
It’s strategic. 

This is bananas. It is bad. It’s scary AF.

Maybe it’s no better or worse than other bad times or places. Yearning for an easier by gone era is not something I tend to do. 

Personally, I’m always looking ahead. What can we do now to make tomorrow easier and safer. And the answers may or may not be in your feed.

YES: I’m still working and writing and consulting and designing. 

I’m still running a nonprofit community seeking donors and sponsors.

I’m also parenting and volunteering and advocating and educating.

I’m still launching a very personal site with my work-life-purpose story, to ensure I am the one who tells it.

I will not let this storm or cosplay stormtroopers wash me away. 

Geared up or resting up.
Taking cover or calling for back up.
Maniacally laughing or hysterically crying.

😳 Are you shocked? Don't be. "They cannot surprise me. I know what’s coming." Do you?

If you're worried, I can totally relate. Are you afraid? Understandable, and you're not alone.

It's ok if you are outraged that all of this is happening—but "surprised"? You're missing the memo, several in fact.

Mainstream #media and prominent journalists keeps missing them too (see: men).

But WE knew who he was; he was never going to protect US.
When people tell you who they are, believe them.
He said on tape, he takes what and who he wants.

Yet, here we are. What now?

We take the power back. Period.
Today's reminder...WE save us.

I've written about (waves hands) ALL OF THIS before...no less than a dozen times. (On medium, LinkedIn, my blog, guest blogs, and long bluesky and twitter threads).
