coFLOWco is a Management Consultancy and multidisciplinary Think Tank of business advisors, educators, technologists, creative strategists, and operations experts. Together we’re designing the “Future of Work” one business at a time.

We provide strategic planning, program management, small business operations, proposal and pitch creation, scoping, contract reviews, and content creation from solopreneurs and startups to SaaS and State Health Departments. Our consultants act as fractional C-suite support for mission-driven leaders and social entrepreneurs, scoping projects or brand audits to create complex work plans for long-term engagements and streamline internal and external brand communications. We ensure our processes are led with the principles from the Design Justice Network and the 10 Principles of Disability Justice.

Everything we do is grounded in our vision:
Design a new path for leaders, makers, writers, creators, and researchers to thrive without compromising their content or their integrity. Our work started with seeking a world with pay parity, but our goal is much bigger: to create a just world with more representation in publishing and leadership, where "pay isn’t a measure of success, and equal pay is [simply] a byproduct of widespread equality."

coFLOWco serves clients with the tools to build equitable, ethical workplaces for a Social and Solidarity Economy (SSE).

What is the FLOWLab?
Our mission is to help diverse innovators and neurodivergent creators survive the first 5 years in self-employment, startups, and solopreneurship—for economic justice and new leadership.

FL⁵ members are a global network of neurodivergent social entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs, independent, content designers, brand creators, creative consultants, researchers and writers who gather for mutual learning and support.

Small business leaders do the work of 4.2 humans, and that’s with 2-20 employees (Salesforce, 2019). Our members are doing all of that, plus added responsibilities: parent, house manager, caregiver, classroom volunteer, grad school, and often a FT job.

Usually they join with no capital, lack of familial support, and trauma. We help them unpack toxic workplace PTSD,  overworking, and burnout. Together we’re co-creating a dynamic, democratized entrepreneurial ecosystem. Members give each other space to feel heard, seen, valued, and inspired...Members are doing The Work and working together to help each other thrive.

We're here to help relieve you from one of your 4.2 jobs AND provide low & no cost resources, connections, networking, and business advising, with a healthy dose of social justice and opportunities for collaboration.

Second Story

Led multidisciplinary teams across time zones and studios. Scoped work from RFP through install, improving and optimizing overall project processes, creating a supportive and honest team atmosphere and delivering on time, within budget. Partnered with Technical and Creative leaders to execute on a shared vision. Master juggler. Pitched and presented projects to clients and managed several accounts/brands ranging in scale and personality. Achieved buy in from clients, delivered on time/budget, rallied the team and cut through the mess to find a clear path...All before lunch.

Fort Wick

Brought on by principal Jen Wick to review operations and produce projects as case studies to find opportunities for improvements. Audit studio communication tools, billing processes, workflow, budget improvement, vendor management and overall project tracking and forecasting. Fort Wick has several high profile Oregon clients in the arts, publishing, education and nonprofit industries. Main case study: produced brand design work for XOXO festival (tech/creative conference) Sept 2018.

Produced a broad range of Creative and Design work: brand logos and visual centers, style guides, digital/ website design, DTC emails, social, packaging, broadcast props/graphics, food photography, retail POP, ecommerce and broadcast, events and activations-concept through mechanicals. 

Managed large, diverse teams. Worked cross-functionally with broadcast producers, account executives, accounting/billing, photography, retouching and Creatives, PR and Creative executive leadership team (Design Leads, CDs, ECDs and CCO).

Creative Operations Manager

Big-Giant

Led studio as main client-facing Project Manager, partnering. Managed a multidisciplinary design and project management team (10-20 people-3D, graphic, brand, retail, digital, environmental designers, production, copywriters and freelancers). Focused on improving studio culture, review process and overall operations/processes for client reviews. Led pitches for New Business, increased revenue stream through strong negotiations and close tracking to change orders.

Worked with owner on strategic planning for next evolution of studio, processes and hands on project work forecasted studio work, reported weekly on job status and financials, resourcing, hiring. Contract and budget negotiations. Created a review process that was fair, time based and focused on goal setting by strengths of the team and individual.

Led production department, partnering with vendors and third party contractors nationally and internationally. Responsible for financials from estimate through final invoice, forecasting overall business revenue and growth. Tracked and forecasted studio revenue with 3 & 6 month outlook. Negotiated significant increases to projects and provided scoping and content for 1 million dollar new biz pitch which led to an 8 month contract and ability to hire more staff. Audited Studio PM software and costs to improve employee time tracking and utilization.

Now: I strive to be engaged, authentic and conscious of the world and people around me. I believe creative work is about moving the needle towards equal opportunity, shared voices, safe spaces and economic empowerment for all. I manage multidisciplinary project teams on a huge range of creative work. I fuel them with donuts, gifs, emojis and celebrating the wins. 

I believe in a growth mindset and have never met a problem I didn't want to solve. I focus on the strengths of my team and leverage my own strengths as a driven leader, risk taker, straight talker and trusted advisor on all projects. I’ve managed through more reorgs than I can count and always come out smiling, happy that my team is where they should be: change is a great way to grow.

Then: I have worked in design for 25 years with nearly 20 years experience managing people and projects. I’m most fulfilled when facilitating creative work that causes positive impacts in people’s lives, but find joy in working on behemoth brands. I’ve partnered with CCO’s and Principals to drive change in their agencies and studios.

In Grad school I began my journey with social justice issues around gender, race and economic disparities. While at W+K I had the opportunity to produce several important platforms addressing issues of inclusion,  opportunities for women of color and gender equality, supporting and executing on the strategic and creative visions of strong female leaders and creators.
