After working across different industries, here are the four beliefs that shape every engagement I take on.

1. Your buyer's search behavior is more important than keyword volume.

A keyword with 50 monthly searches from buyers ready to hire is worth more than a keyword with 5,000 searches from people just browsing. I always start with intent, never volume.

2. Technical SEO is not optional; it's the foundation.

Beautiful content on a technically broken website is like a great salesperson working a broken phone. I audit the infrastructure before I touch the strategy.

3. Leads are the only metric that matters to your business.

I track rankings, impressions, and traffic — but only as indicators. The number I'm accountable for is how many qualified leads came from organic search this month.

4. SEO is a long game played with short-term milestones.

📌 I believe in 90-day checkpoint plans. You should see directional progress, not just promises, within the first three months of any engagement.

Here's the SEO framework I use for every new client — regardless of industry.

I call it the 3-Layer Audit.

Layer 1: Technical Health
Before any content or keywords, I check whether Google can properly crawl, index, and understand the site. Broken indexing, slow load speed, duplicate content, and poor mobile experience silently kill rankings. Most agencies skip this or skim it. I spend the first week here.

Layer 2: Intent Mapping
I map every existing page to a stage of the buyer journey — awareness, consideration, or decision. Then I identify the gaps. Most small business websites are heavy on awareness content and completely missing decision-stage pages. That's where leads come from.

Layer 3: Competitive Gap Analysis
I find the exact keywords your top 3 competitors are ranking for that you aren't. These aren't random opportunities — they're proven terms that your market is already responding to. I build the content strategy around closing those gaps first.

Only after all three layers are complete do I touch a single piece of content or recommend a single keyword.

This process takes longer upfront.
But it's the reason my clients see results instead of reports.
