My role includes: Building relationships with clients from ground zero mostly on the telephone encouraging them to consign their cars with us rather than a competitor. Cataloguing and researching listings for marketing material. Negotiating reserves with sellers and keeping them informed every step of the way. Using the knowledge of what they are selling to turn them into buyers.

Since my return to Sothebys bid department in 2015  I have managed the department in London, Geneva, Zurich, and latterly Dubai and Mumbai through all bids related activities. Also, attending sales in Hong Kong. 
Duties included but not limited to:
- Scheduling & resourcing staff to cover multiple sales at any one time in the above locations. 
- Devising & overseeing the departments yearly budget
- Making sure expert & service departments are serviced in an efficient and timely way
- Monitoring everybody in side and out side of the department are working to the high service and compliant standards required
- Managing expectations of Auctioneers and department Heads, before during & post auction day. Include making sure phone calls emails are all answered and dealt with as well as any interest meeting scheduled. 
- Making sure the Auctioneers working document is ready for the sale start time  
- Saleroom Duties
- Clerking to a high standard, assisting the Auctioneers at all times, correctly keying in information for Post sale and Auditing purposes.
- Telephone bidding when required, talking to Clients in the Saleroom pre and during the sales. 
- Making sure all sales live or online are closed in a timely manner to facilitate the start of the post sale procedures.
- Responsible for new Auctioneer training across Europe as well as helping existing Auctioneers to learn and understand our new system on Viking and the fundamental change of now using an IPad as opposed to a paper book.   
- Meeting regularly with the Auctioneers committee as my role of Chair of the committee
- Facilitate where possible requests from outside the organisation for a Sothebys Auctioneer to attend and sell at a Charity Auction
- Attend meetings as and when to discuss changes to the business/policy review and any other business
