Perfection sounds great, but it is usually the reason things move slower than they should.

Sometimes the issue is not a lack of standards, it is the opposite.

When high expectations turn into obsession, execution drags, the team freezes and you end up polishing details that do not change the outcome (I have personally lost hours fixing things no one would ever notice, so I know the pattern too well).

The trap with perfectionism is that it looks like quality, but it behaves like cost.

Cost in speed, in focus, in mental bandwidth.

Cost in conversations that run too long and decisions that arrive too late.

Cost in teams that interpret your expectations as pressure rather than a way to make people better.

The paradox is that under real pressure, the difference rarely comes from that final micro adjustment.

The real difference comes from moving.

Making the call with the information you have today.

Pushing the conversation forward instead of rewriting the same sentence (and yes, I have rewritten entire emails because one comma felt wrong).

Closing the deal instead of building the perfect slide for it.

Progress beats perfection every single time, because in real execution you win by moving, not by polishing the ending.
