Fellow Mustangs - I'm excited to be back on Western University campus this Sunday!

Feels like a full-circle moment because I'm co-hosting this event with friends I met on my old stomping grounds who continue to inspire me till this day :) 

Vincent and I bonded over our experience at Front Row Ventures, and Naomi was one of the early people supporting Rubaina and I when we were just getting SINGLA off the ground.

While at Western, choosing the startup path felt like the exception. Which is why it's been incredibly exciting to watch the culture change on campus. With clubs like Ivey Venture Capital Club, Momentum, Western AI and Western Founders Network fostering our ecosystem, I'm seeing across the board more Western students and alumni empowered to build companies, join early-stage startups, and even launch careers in venture!

Also wanted to highlight a growing list of trailblazers from UWO that paved the way for me and many others - Braden Ream, Emily Lonetto, Rahul Parmar, Alex Ha, Matthew Woo etc.!

Excited to meet more Western folks doing ambitious, interesting things! It's about time more people pay attention to all we have to offer :)

Having an off-the-record conversation with our very own, Matt Espinoza (Co-founder of Clover Labs) during the week of Socratica Symposium!

Matt was one of the youngest fellows we ever took at RippleX. We didn't typically accept high school students back then, but Dominic made an exception for the exceptional.

From there, we watched Matt do something most founders spend years trying to figure out. He built his first company at 18, raised hundreds of thousands, and had it acquired by a $50M company before he turned 20. He was just getting started. He went heads-down again and sold a second company to private equity in three months.

As software becomes increasingly commoditized, building stops being the hard part. Distribution does. What if you could engineer GTM from day one instead of scrambling for it after?

That question became Clover Labs, a holding company Matt built alongside Ryan and Anton. And it's working. He reached $500K/ month, four months post-launch, making Clover one of the fastest-growing companies we have ever backed.

What makes Matt genuinely fun to watch is that he is always a few steps ahead, deep in whatever tool or trend the rest of us are still reading about. He has product intuition you cannot teach, moves faster than almost anyone I know, and a relentless curiosity that continues to inspire me.

The rules for building a company are being rewritten right now in this post-AI era. If you want to learn from someone who is doing exactly that, in the ring, with real results, this is the conversation to be at.
