Unbelievable.

Is price management important?  You know my opinion but I have been taking a 3 year listening exercise to hear what peers outside of pricing believe.  

While prices are clearly important, professionals in other fields express hesitency regarding the importance of price management.  

I have heard multiple academics tell me that price management is not a field of study and it is not something a university should teach.  I have heard multiple academics infer that the claims coming from the pricing professionals are unbelievable.  That price management capability has not been definitively correlated with corporate financial performance.  

Even when they see the math and agree with the claims, I have heard academics state that these truths are unlikely to be published in academic papers because others will not believe it is true. 

Unbelievable indeed.  

I have a dataset of 150 measurements of pricing capability.  Who wants to write an academic paper with me demonstrating the relationship between a price management capability and financial performance.  Must have a track record of academic publishing AND access to a dataset of financial metrics  such as Altman Z-Scores and such.  Looking for a time series correlation.
