At NeurIPS2025, Google presented Titans, a new architecture that combines the speed of RNNs with the performance of Transformers. 

The trade-off between infinite context and computational cost is the biggest hurdle in AI right now.

While Transformers are accurate but expensive to scale, and linear models are fast but lose detail, Titans delivers the best of both worlds by introducing Test-Time Memorization.

The Core Innovation: Instead of a static state, Titans uses a deep neural memory module that actively updates while running, utilizing a "Surprise Metric":
- Low Surprise: Routine data is processed efficiently without clogging memory.
- High Surprise: Anomalies and key details are instantly integrated into long-term memory.

The Results:
- Scales effectively to 2M+ token context windows.
- Outperforms larger models (including GPT-4) on extreme long-context reasoning benchmarks.
- Generalizes beyond text to genomics and time-series.

This is a move from passive processing to active, efficient learning.

Jensen just dropped a masterclass on the future of AI.

Three key insights he shared:

1/ Human language is the new syntax: The "tech divide" is closing. You won't need C++ to code the future; you just need to speak.

2/ The "30-Day" Mindset: Nvidia operates like they are always 30 days from bankruptcy. This paranoia fuels their innovation and resilience.

3/ Safety is an engineering problem: Forget the sci-fi movie plots. AI safety is just like cybersecurity—as capabilities rise, so do the guardrails.

Gemini 3 is here and it isn’t just another model release. It’s Google firing on every AI cylinder: infra, research, product, and distribution.

A few things stand out:

1.	Full-stack advantage, finally realized.
Gemini 3 is the first model shipped into Google Search on day one. That’s not just marketing ; it’s how you put frontier AI in front of billions.

2.	The agent era is no longer theoretical.
With Deep Think mode, long context, multimodal understanding, and real-time planning, Gemini 3 moves beyond chat. It’s not a chatbot. It’s a problem-solver.

3.	AI is getting better at “reading the room.”
It reflects a core shift: models are starting to grasp intent and nuance and not just data.

Benchmarks back it up: topping LMArena, solving “Humanity’s Last Exam”, setting a new bar in math and science tasks. But that’s the sideshow.

As a leader, your job is to run a tight ship.

That doesn’t mean control. It means precision.

Clear goals. 
Clear roles. 
Clear standards.

In fast-moving teams, especially in AI, ambiguity is expensive and confusion kills momentum.  Alignment compounds it.

Scaling laws in AI are nowhere near finished. The latest Gemini 3 results show it clearly.

Pre-training: Many believed progress had plateaued. Yet the jump from 2.5 to 3.0 is one of the biggest leaps we have seen. When you improve data, architecture, and compute together, you keep breaking ceilings. No walls in sight.

Post-training: This might be the real frontier. We are still early in how we align, steer, and specialize models. The innovation curve here is just beginning, and the gains on 3.0 prove it.

Good insights from Deepmind engineers this week.

Better models are not coming slowly. They are coming faster.

Plan for continuous capability jumps, not incremental upgrades. The disruption curve is steepening.

𝗔𝗜 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝟭𝟬𝟭

Current AI is often described as a "statistical correlation machine." It predicts the next word or pixel based on patterns it has seen before. World Models represent a shift toward causal understanding—giving machines a way to simulate the future.

What is a World Model? Think of it as an internal flight simulator. Instead of just recognizing an environment, the AI builds a mental model of how that environment works. It uses this model to test hypotheses ("If I drop this glass, it will break") without needing to actually perform the action.

The "𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝘆" Example Imagine training a robot to fold clothes.

- 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹: The robot must physically interact with the clothes millions of times, learning through endless trial and error.

- 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹: The robot simulates the physics of the fabric in its head. It plans the fold internally, predicts the outcome, and only moves its arm when it is confident. This results in safer, faster, and more generalizable learning.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗟𝗠𝘀: While Large Language Models (LLMs) are masters of syntax and semantics, they often struggle with physical causality. World Models differ because:

𝟭. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹: They don't just retrieve information; they run mental experiments.

𝟮. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝗹𝗮𝘄𝘀, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: They infer the physics of their environment from data rather than being hand-coded.

𝟯. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲: They predict "what happens next" in a state-space, not just a token-space.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗽: The next frontier is the convergence of these technologies. By combining the reasoning of LLMs with the grounding of World Models, we move closer to Embodied Intelligence—software that can read, watch, plan, and act in the physical world.

All that time spent polishing pixels... now you just describe it in plain English and boom and nano banana AI handles the rest.

By the way, this is a solid, modern and agile AI stack. To build at x10 speed you need to have the right building blocks.

A lot of people ask me this question, I'll start with the absolute core:
1. I use Agno for multi-agent framework, they're fast, elegant and robust.
2. Exa for web grounding, I consider Exa a bigger booster than LLM choice for my use case.
3. FMP for premium, clean, reliable financial data turned into tailored tools.

For LLMs, I use O3 for multi-agent orchestration and planning, GPT 4.1 for digesting web content and supporting my A1Facts flow; Flash2.5 for structured extraction and Gemini 3 pro for synthesizing investment thesis.

I constantly progress the choices of LLMs prioritizing quality over price.

For tools, I use Cursor with Opus 4.5 (recently replacing Gemini 2.5 pro); and Figma make - which I absolutely love.

For internal ops agents, (1) managing coverage requests (2) digesting user feedback (3) analyzing product analytics (4) writing my weekly newsletter -- all built with Agno and Gemini 3 pro.

Less exciting but just as critical :-) Streamlit for front end [being replaced with react], and Firebase for database/auth/analytics -- both choices have been really critical for prototyping rapidly with my users.

The "secret sauce" is secret (lol), but I will say solving factuality in evolving market dynamics is a significant effort, and using expert-system techniques and simulations augments LLMs where they are critically weak.

Senior AI Advisor

Hundreds of AI minds gathered in Central Park on a chilly Saturday morning, it was incredible :)

The past weekend in New York felt like one of those moments where community completely surprises you in the best way.

I was traveling to the city for a work event, and my friend Pranjal and I had a thought- What if we host a small AI meetup on Saturday morning in Central Park? Nothing fancy, just a space for people to connect.

So we put up a quick Luma link and shared it on LinkedIn. We expected maybe a handful of people. Instead, the sign ups crossed 450+. 

We put a small table with coffee, muffins, cookies and some cool swag- thanks to Teachable. We weren’t sure how it would go. We just hoped people would show up.

What happened next honestly moved me.

We reached the park at 9.20am to set up for a 10am meetup, and people were already there. In the cold. On a Saturday morning. People had traveled from Boston, Maryland, upstate New York, New Jersey, even Philadelphia. I kept talking to folks thinking, you really came all this way… for this?

The meetup was meant to last two hours. People stayed until 3pm! Almost six hours of conversations about AI, careers, ideas, and everything in between. No microphones. No agenda. Just humans connecting because they care about the same things.

This experience reminded me of something I tend to forget- community doesn’t need perfect planning. It needs intention. It needs genuine people. And it needs a space where everyone feels welcome.

I’m grateful to every single person who showed up. You made this morning unforgettable, and you reminded me why I love building in this space.

There is a quiet moment every November when life slows down just enough for reflection. I never grew up celebrating Thanksgiving. Back home in India, I didn’t even know what it meant. But after moving to the US, watching my friends celebrate, watching sitcoms where families gathered around food and gratitude, I started understanding the deeper meaning behind it.

A moment to pause.
A moment to look around.
A moment to look back.

This year, gratitude feels a little different for me. A little heavier in the best possible way.

I feel grateful for a life where I get to wake up every day and do work I genuinely love. AI is chaotic and intense and fast. Yet it gives me energy. It gives me purpose. And I feel lucky to be part of this ecosystem during a time when everything is shifting.

I feel grateful for the people who hold me steady.
A mom who pushed me when the world expected her to play it safe. A mom who defied every norm to carve space for me to choose ambition without apology.

A husband who is involved in my life in the most beautiful way supportive is honestly an understatement. He is a true partner in every single thing I do. He listens to every idea, every frustration, every new plan I dream up and he backs me with a kind of belief that strengthens my own. Chinnu amma and Chinnu appa who patiently listen to my ten year entrepreneurial plans and cheer for me with the kind of warmth only family can give.

Mentors and colleagues who let me thrive creatively who challenge me in the right ways who make every room I walk into feel lighter and more possible.

I feel grateful for health. For a body I get to take care of. For the time I carve out to move, to eat well, to nurture myself. It took years to realize that taking care of your body is also taking care of your dreams.

And I feel grateful for the little girl I used to be the one who sat with a notebook and wrote her goals on every page the one who kept believing she would get there someday. If I could talk to her today, I would tell her that she is doing great and that her stubborn belief in herself was worth it.

Thanksgiving may not be something I grew up with, but it has become a reminder to pause and appreciate the rarest gift of all the good people around you. People who are genuinely supportive, genuinely positive, and genuinely rooting for you.

I am grateful for all of it.

If you are preparing for a data science or ML engineering interview, keep this cheat sheet handy.

Most interviews today expect you to be comfortable with modern AI toolkits. But understanding how models actually learn is not optional. It is a core skill. You will often be asked how you would solve a specific problem, and not every problem is a generative AI problem. That is why revisiting these foundational learning paradigms is still essential.

This visual breaks down the three core ways traditional ML models learn from data:

✦ Supervised learning focuses on learning from labeled data to make accurate predictions.
✦ Unsupervised learning uncovers hidden structure, clusters, or patterns when no labels are available.
✦ Reinforcement learning teaches an agent to interact with an environment and optimize long term reward.

So where do generative AI models fit in?

✦ For most large language models, the pre training phase uses self supervised learning. The model is trained on massive amounts of raw text and learns to predict missing or next tokens using the input itself as the supervision signal. There are no human created labels. 

✦ This is why self supervised learning is treated as a subset of unsupervised learning. After pre training, many models are fine tuned with supervised instruction data and sometimes with reinforcement learning from human feedback.

Before generative AI captured mainstream attention, we already had transformer based models like BERT and GPT 2 operating in this category. BERT used masked language modeling and next sentence prediction. GPT style models relied on next token prediction. These were early examples of self supervised generative modeling that laid the foundation for today’s LLMs.

If you are interviewing for any data or AI role, being able to explain these paradigms clearly will help you reason through real world scenarios and select the right approach. I will be sharing more interview focused resources soon.

The two tools that are absolutely necessary for any AI engineer to get started are LangChain and LangGraph.

If you’re new to the AI engineering space, here is a quick TLDR.

LangChain takes you beyond basic prompting and gives you the building blocks to turn models into real applications with structure, tooling, retrieval, and clean orchestration.

LangGraph is where you unlock agentic workflows. It lets you define states and transitions so your systems behave predictably instead of guessing through tasks.

Arvind Narayanamurthy and I are hosting a hands-on workshop on December 20 to help you learn both. It’s beginner to intermediate friendly and fully focused on practical engineering patterns you can use immediately.

If you’re an AI engineer trying to understand agentic systems, keep reading 👇

A single-agent system relies on one model to do everything: reasoning, planning, execution, and validation. It’s efficient for simple, sequential tasks but quickly breaks down as workflows grow more complex or interdependent.

A multi-agent system, on the other hand, distributes intelligence across specialized agents that collaborate. Each has its own role, memory, & context - and together, they solve problems that a single model can’t handle alone.

But here’s what most people miss: there’s no standard architecture.

A multi-agent system is like Lego blocks, you design it for your use case.

You can build:
→ a supervisor agent managing sub-agents
→ a hierarchical setup with layered control
→ or a hybrid model combining centralized planning and peer coordination
The challenge isn’t in building agents, it's in managing how they talk to each other.

Three reasons multi-agent systems often fail:

❌Memory fragments across agents.
Each agent keeps its own context. When one agent hands work to another, subtle details get lost or duplicated. Without a shared memory layer or context synchronization, agents start “forgetting” what the others already know.

❌Operational costs multiply.
What costs $0.10 for a single agent might cost $1 when ten agents coordinate. Every message, validation step, or context handoff adds latency, token cost, and complexity. At scale, coordination overhead often outweighs the benefit of specialization.

❌ Write conflicts cascade.
If multiple agents write to the same source of truth: a shared database, knowledge base, or document, their changes can collide. One agent updates a schema, another updates logic on top of the old version, and suddenly the system’s state fragments.

TL;DR: Not every workflow needs a multi-agent setup.

When tasks are independent, read-heavy, and parallelizable, multi-agent systems shine. But for sequential logic and tight dependencies, a single-agent pipeline is still faster, cheaper, and easier to maintain.

This year’s Snowflake BUILD reminded me why I love being at the intersection of data and AI.

There’s a quiet revolution happening, not just in models or infrastructure, but in how data and AI are starting to think together.

Snowflake is redefining what that connection looks like: turning data clouds into intelligence layers that can reason, act, and learn.

Here are my five takeaways from BUILD 2025:

1️⃣ AI is getting context-aware.
The launch of the Managed MCP Server was a clear step toward connecting reasoning with memory. It bridges agents, data, and external systems seamlessly, a sign that agentic AI is finally moving from concept to production.

2️⃣ Cortex AI SQL is where AI meets analytics.
Forget prompt-engineering; this is about asking real business questions in natural language and getting answers grounded in governed data. It’s basically- AI meeting everyday decision-making.

3️⃣ Cortex Agents show what “agentic” really means.
They’re not chatbots — they’re teammates. They can chain tasks, analyze results, and act across workflows, bringing true autonomy into enterprise systems.

4️⃣ The Gen2 Warehouses make AI-native infrastructure real.
Everything, right from compute to latency, is being rebuilt for intelligent applications. It’s the foundation of an AI-ready enterprise

5️⃣ The biggest shift is cultural.
Teams are no longer adding AI; they’re designing with it. Data, ML, and product are finally collaborating as one.

What stood out to me most was the clarity of purpose: The future of AI isn’t about replacing intelligence, it’s about amplifying it through data.

Even unstructured data, the 80 % of information hidden in PDFs, chats, and documents, is now first-class and accessible through simple AISQL queries. 
 
This feels like a turning point. 
The next era of AI won’t be defined by bigger models, but by deeper integration between data and reasoning. 
 
AI without data is just potential. 
Data without AI is just storage. 
Together, they become intelligence.

I started building with LangChain back in end of 2022 while at Google, when it was literally being built- so every other day there was a new update that I had to read their docs for. And LangChain today has been the quiet backbone of so many real LLM applications. 

Once you move beyond simple prompts and start building workflows, retrieval systems, or anything agentic, you start to see why this framework matters.

LangChain gives you a way to structure the entire lifecycle of an LLM driven system so you’re not juggling scattered scripts and brittle glue code.

✦ It standardizes how you work with chat models, messages, memory, and tools

✦ It gives you prompt templates and chains so your system behaves consistently

✦ It brings retrievers, vector stores, and document loaders into a clean workflow

✦ It sets the foundation for agentic execution, where models can reason and take actions

✦ And LangGraph is built on top of LangChain to help you design stateful, multi step, and multi agent workflows with much more control.

This Week in AI: November 30, 2025

Google has been on a roll. Gemini 2.5 Pro, Nano Banana, and now Gemini 3. Each launch is pushing their ecosystem forward in a meaningful way, not just on model performance but on how the whole product stack fits together.

I’ve been testing the Gemini 3 in the Gemini app and in Google Search via AI Mode and the shift is obvious. In the Gemini app, the model is now woven directly into your workflow. 

Workspace, Gmail, Search, everyday tasks - everything runs through a single intelligent layer instead of separate tools. 

It finally feels cohesive. In Google Search, you can now ask more complex questions and AI Mode will understand your intent and connect you with highly relevant content. Gemini 3 also unlocks new generative UI experiences, creating visual layouts and interactive simulations tailored to your query and on the fly.

In addition to bringing Gemini 3 to Google Search, Google has also recently launched new AI and agentic shopping features in AI Mode in Search. The new AI shopping flow is a smart step. You describe what you need and the model handles retrieval, comparison, availability, and even checkout. And because it’s built on top of the Shopping Graph with billions of real-time product signals, you can feel confident that you're seeing fresh information and a wide selection.

I also recently met with Robby Stein, VP of Product, Google Search, and got a full demo of some of the latest AI Mode features. We recorded a podcast where he breaks down how this all works under the hood, what’s coming next, and where the future of Search is headed. A lot of people ask me, what’s the roadmap to become an AI engineer?

It’s not just about finishing a few ML courses, it’s about mastering the fundamentals, applying them in real projects, and building the skills to ship AI systems into production.

Here’s a step-by-step path that works in 2025.

📓Step 0 – Build a Strong Technical Foundation
→ Learn Python deeply (AI’s primary language) plus working knowledge of C++, Java, or R.
→ Master data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
→ Strengthen math for AI: linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.

📌 Tip: Code along with tutorials and build small utilities like dataset parsers, algorithm implementations, or math simulations.


📗Step 1 – Learn ML & AI Fundamentals
→ Understand core ML concepts: supervised vs. unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering.
→ Explore deep learning: CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, NLP, generative AI.
→ Work hands-on with PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.

📌 Tip: Build a neural network from scratch using only NumPy to really understand how backpropagation works.


📘Step 2 – Apply Knowledge Through Projects
→ Start with small, scoped projects: image classification, NLP chatbots, recommendation engines.
→ Use public datasets from UCI, Kaggle, or Hugging Face Datasets.
→ Contribute to open-source AI projects or Kaggle competitions.

📌 Starter Ideas:
→ Sentiment analysis with real-time inference
→ Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) PDF summarizer
→ Price prediction model with explainable AI dashboards


📕Step 3 – Learn Data Engineering, MLOps & Deployment
→ Practice data preprocessing and visualization with pandas, NumPy, matplotlib.
→ Learn to deploy models on AWS Sagemaker, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure ML.
→ Master MLOps: CI/CD pipelines, retraining workflows, monitoring, model version control.
📌 Tip: Build an end-to-end pipeline - from raw data ingestion to a deployed model API - using Docker + FastAPI.


📙 Step 4 – Specialize in an AI Domain
→ Choose a focus: Computer Vision, NLP, Generative AI, Reinforcement Learning, or Robotics.
→ Read research papers, replicate results, and keep up with top AI conferences (NeurIPS, ICML).
📌 Tip: Maintain a “replication repo” where you implement recent papers in your chosen field.


📔Step 5 – Build a Portfolio & Network
→ Showcase your projects on GitHub with clear READMEs and deployment instructions.
→ Write technical blogs, create short videos, or speak at meetups about your projects.
→ Join AI communities (Slack, Discord, LinkedIn), attend hackathons, and network with peers.

If you’re starting today, pick one problem you care about, find a dataset, and commit to shipping a working MVP in 3 weeks. That’s how you start building momentum ❤️
