I spent 6 months learning how to prompt AI properly

Here’s the simple system that finally worked:

Start with examples
→ Show AI a sample so it understands the style
→ Clear examples guide every answer it makes

Set a role
→ Tell AI who to act as before it replies
→ “Be my teacher and explain it simply”

Add context
→ Give notes, facts, or small details first
→ The more it knows, the better it helps you

Set the format
→ Ask for lists, steps, or tables upfront
→ This makes the output clean and easy to read

Ask for steps
→ Step-by-step thinking removes confusion
→ AI explains the whole path, not just the end

Use self-check
→ Ask AI to review its answer and fix errors
→ Second versions are almost always stronger

Improve the prompt
→ Let AI rewrite your prompt to make it clearer
→ Better prompts lead to much better results
