💜  Marketing is centred around people. Being a good marketeer is all around understanding consumer psychology and what makes different people tick. 
💜 It's easy to think that senior people have all the answers (spoiler they don't) but hearing about the journey they have been on, the mistakes they have made and what they have learnt is inspiring.

On this ep we sat down with Sharon Roessen, COO at Terrapinn. 
I really enjoyed this episode, I don't want to be annoying and tell you everything you are going to hear but things I found super interesting about her career/life/journey:

Last week I was asked why I believe that consultancy is the future model in paid media (and why this part of our offeringcontinues to flourish). 

The answer is…it enables ambitious brands to adapt in line with an ever changing market place, business needs and the speed of AI.

⭐️ It’s minimal commitment for brands. 

⭐️ You can reduce your overheads by not having a large monthly retainer.

⭐️ Access to specialist strategy and senior resource without a FTE investment. 

⭐️ You are investing in fresh, independent perspectives without having to go through a tender process on a regular basis. 

⭐️ You can shape your support package to your individual business needs (and adapt it in line with rapid change).

⭐️ You can harness the power of AI, make FTE or FT agency savings and still access the strategic skills you need to drive the machine. 

This was born from a need I had when I was working client side, I didn’t want to employ more FTEs (as we couldn’t justify the investment) but I wanted strategic support and insights. An agency who offered that wasn’t available….

As we move into a world where automation becomes key (name a board that isn’t talking about harnessing AI to reduce headcount/drive efficiencies etc etc) the need for fractional support is going to become more important (and will make business sense).

12 months ago, we asked for more charities to step forward so that everyone in the team could have a charity partner.

Since then we have...
💜  Hosted our first inperson event for all of our charity partners
💜 Managed over 10 new charity clients
💜 Held 3 fundraising months for 3 different charities (Teens Unite Fighting Cancer included). 
💜 Been part of various charity initiatives such as the Teens Unite away day. 

It is great to be able to make a tiny difference through paid media (as well as encourage consumption!). It is also lovely to work in true partnership with brands that want to be partners!

This has significantly strengthened our online search presence, helping us reach more people, connect with the right audiences, and ensure our message has the greatest possible impact.

It was a pleasure to welcome Martha Dalton from the House of Performance team to our offices this week for a collaborative working session. Together, we reviewed the latest insights and set a clear strategy to build on this momentum.

But their support doesn’t stop there. The House of Performance team consistently go above and beyond - from acting as mentors during our recent residential stay - inspiring and empowering the young people we support, to getting involved in fundraising initiatives. From office bake sales to taking part in our Santa Dash Run last Christmas, their commitment shines through in everything they do.

If you have a small budget - can Google Ads work for you?

I used to love Google, because it was centred around quality rather than quantity (of cash). Twenty years ago, it didn't matter whether you were ASOS or a tshirt maker, you both had the same opportunity to appear successfully on the SERP. 

In 2026, I don't think it's the same. Algorithms mean QUANTITY of data is the key to unlocking effectiveness and driving sales. A small player (unless super niche or localised) struggles to drive the same performance because of rising CPC's and algorithmic bidding. 

I still enjoy PPC, and I think capitalising on intent is fantastic.
I just think the playing field is less level than it was historically 🤓
