# Experience as Senior Wellness Counsellor at IIT Delhi

From February 1st, 2024, I worked as a Senior Wellness Counsellor with Disha Kiran at IIT Delhi. I provided one-on-one counselling to B Tech, MS(R), MSc, and PhD students.

During this full-time project, I gained insight into students' stress and anxiety levels, relationship issues, motivation problems, OCD, Bipolar, Confidence and effective communication and adjustment issues. The experience helped me understand the various challenges faced by students in high-pressure academic environments. 

As a counsellor, I had the opportunity to support students in managing their stress and addressing their concerns. This project highlighted the importance of mental health support in academic settings.

Overall, it was a valuable experience that enhanced my understanding of student wellness in top-tier educational institutions.

At Katha, my role required me to train primary teachers from government and MCD schools, and our in-house teachers too. I was also responsible for developing educational web content for primary age groups. I gained expertise in Story Pedagogy, the art of teaching new concepts through storytelling. I also conducted workshops on issues pertaining to guidance and counselling and psychological problems observed among school children.
