That single question became:

(Your lead magnet should make the next step obvious.)

4. Would I actually use this myself if I found it?
(If you wouldn't, why would they?)

5. Does it give them a quick win that makes them think "if the free stuff is this good, the paid stuff must be incredible"?
(This is what turns cold leads into buyers.)

6. Is the format easy to consume?
(A 47-page PDF isn't a gift, it's homework.)

7. Does my CTA encourage real engagement – likes, comments, shares – not just "comment interested"?
(LinkedIn rewards genuine engagement. Game the algorithm and you'll get throttled.)

If you can't answer yes to at least 5 of these, your lead magnet isn't ready.

And here's the thing most people miss:

The post itself matters more than the magnet.

Your post needs to describe the problem so well that people think:
"Holy shit, this person gets exactly what I'm dealing with."

Then the lead magnet becomes the obvious next step.

We're not doing anything revolutionary here.
Just paying attention to what actually converts instead of what looks good in a screenshot.

5. Could a human have written this better?

• Time spent on unqualified calls down 70%

Here's what I've learned about optimizing AI prompts based on real conversion data:

This week I did something that felt completely backwards.

Instead of doubling down on marketing, I went heads-down on product.

Here's what happened:

Last week, we added Twitter, Threads, and Bluesky to Posthero.
This week? I built the sync feature – one LinkedIn post now goes to 4 platforms in a few clicks.

And honestly? I feel guilty about it.

I've been posting on LinkedIn consistently for 18 months.

In the last year, LinkedIn has literally paid my bills.

The platform works. But most people are doing it wrong.

Here's what's actually working right now before the algorithm shifts again:

1. Proof without process is dead.

Dropping numbers means nothing anymore. You need to show the result AND explain how you got there. The combination drives reach and real inbound interest.

2. Story-driven posts still crush everything.

Everyone's posting frameworks and bullet lists. Almost nobody is sharing compact, relatable human moments. A quick win, a mistake you made, a turning point - these generate real engagement because they feel real.

3. Conversation starters build early momentum fast.

Bold questions or clear stances that invite response gather early comments. Those early comments lift distribution. Simple but powerful.

4. Keep links out of your main post.

Text posts, carousels and native videos outperform link posts by a massive margin. If you must share a link, build value in the post first or drop the link in the comments instead. (you can still add links to the post body if do it smart - i.e. update the post in a few hours)

5. Dwell time matters more than you think.

If someone reads your entire post, swipes through your carousel, or watches most of your video, the algorithm pushes your content further. Make people stop scrolling.

6. Topic authority compounds over time.

Posting consistently around the same subject helps LinkedIn classify you as a reliable voice. If you talk about growth, content, or marketing, consistency compounds your distribution.

7. Cross-niche engagement expands your reach.

Engaging consistently in 2 to 3 adjacent fields expands your reach into those networks. It gives your posts more first-hour engagement from audiences outside your core following.

8. Repost your winners.

Most people never saw your post the first time. Repost your top performers after 2 to 4 weeks with a new hook. Your best content deserves more circulation.

9. Deep comment threads get pushed harder.

Posts that create replies to replies are being rewarded. Deeper comment threads are now a clear visibility signal. Ask follow-up questions. Pull people into the conversation.

My posting routine:

I post 5 times per week, every week.

Each post follows a simple pattern: strong hook, tight paragraphs, clear takeaway, question at the end.

I never skip a week. Consistency affects reach more than most people realize.

Formats crushing it right now:

Text posts with a sharp hook, 1 to 2 line paragraphs, 3 to 5 takeaways, and a question at the end.

Proof breakdowns where you share a result, then break down exactly how it happened in 3 to 4 clear steps.

That's it.

Powered by yet another cup of coffee… Shipped a feature I’ve been thinking about for weeks.

It's called Reflections.

And honestly? It feels small. But I think it might be the most important thing we've built into Posthero recently.

Here's the problem I kept seeing:

Here's what I think about AI and writing in 2025:

The main human skill isn't writing anymore.
It's thinking.

Your job is to:
• Capture ideas worth sharing
• Find interesting angles nobody sees
• Set the story line that connects
• Use AI to speed up the writing process

But most people do the opposite.

They ask AI: "Write me a LinkedIn post about productivity"
Then they copy-paste whatever comes out.
Zero thinking. Zero personality. Zero you.

The right way?

You think → AI writes → You edit

Not the other way around.

I use AI to create my content.
But the idea? That's 100% mine.
The angle? That's 100% mine.
The message? That's 100% mine.

AI just helps me get it out faster.

Think of AI as your writing assistant.
Not your brain replacement.

Your thoughts are the product.
AI is just the production line.

So yes... use AI to write faster.
But never let AI do your thinking.

That's the one skill that will always be yours.

Filmmakers have a secret weapon for dreamy shots.

You know what?

I’m obsessed with foggy weather.

We had some misty days again: Pure magic.

Misty conditions add mystery.
It isolates the subject.

Most people look at sharp images.
Overly sharp images don't look natural to the human eye.
That's why filmmakers make images softer.

How? By using mist filters. 
They soften the image. 
They boost the light sources. 
They add that subtle glow you normally only get on foggy days.

They create that cinematic glow.

How to do a running shot without a crew? (BTS vs. Final Shot)

Normally, this kind of shot is done from a tracking vehicle with a small team.

Here’s how I pulled it off solo:
-A gimbal for stabilization
-In-camera + post stabilization
-A running technique that minimizes bounce

After a few takes, we got the shot.
Not perfect in one go, but perfect enough in the edit.

It's cool to see that technology keeps evolving.

What used to take a full crew, you can now do alone.

How was your weekend? I spent my Friday night on a free shoot.

We just wrapped a passion project: 
No client. No constraints. No rules.

Just a team of creatives making something we believe in.

Why? Because it gives you space to experiment.

To test new formats, different storytelling and visual styles.

Creating something that would normally be considered “too risky” for a commercial production.

Working with talented people like this is not only inspiring.
It's the best way to grow as a creative professional.

All the learnings become the foundation for future projects.

I spent 32 hours on this video project. Was it worth it?

Here's a breakdown:

From a performance standpoint, 5,000 views across the platforms, it’s not my top performer.

And yet, I consider it a success.

This project wasn’t driven by metrics.
It started from inspiration.

It started with a song I had on repeat during a film session outside.
The repetition makes it almost meditative.

After the first edit, the video felt a little too minimal.

I wrote a voice-over, recorded it, and… ultimately chose not to use it.

It disrupted the quiet and stillness.

Since posting, I’ve received kind and thoughtful messages. That feedback means more to me than the view count ever could.

Because in video production and in creative work, it’s not always about views.

It’s about intention.
About aligning every creative choice to the story you want to tell.
About learning, exploring, and enjoying the process.

Was it worth 32 hours?

Absolutely.

Over the past month, I’ve had the chance to collaborate on some fun projects. 

It's fun to work on diverse projects like brand films, social ads, or talking head videos.

But what drives me most is helping clients reach their goals through creative video marketing. 

Seeing that the work has led to measurable results, like higher conversion rates, is incredibly rewarding.

Constraints push creativity.

Filmmaking is problem-solving:

Some shots require a crew and proper gear.

But sometimes you just don’t have the resources.

So you get creative with what you do have.

I wanted to create a dolly shot from my fermenting project.

So I used my skateboard as a camera dolly. 

But there was a problem: the floor was too bumpy.

So I took a door from my closet and used it as a smooth surface.

And that’s exactly what I do with my paid projects.

Finding smart solutions and maximizing results.

This week's view from the office.

Locations matter more than you think:

I am filming a project for one of my early-day clients, Dakbloemenweide

It's amazing to see how we both grew in the past years.

And now they are realizing this large green rooftop in the business heart of Rotterdam.

A beautiful scenery for the project video, showing their expertise and product.

Locations can make or break a film. In this case, it shapes the video. 

Can't wait to start editing.

Video used to dominate LinkedIn.

Right now? Not so much:

Take these two examples from my feed:
1. A simple text post with 1 comment → 6K+ impressions
2. A cinematic video with 35 comments → 1.5K impressions

Usually, engagement means more reach, but the reach of video is down across the board.

Reach isn’t everything.

Video consistently gets more meaningful interactions; it builds connection, trust, and emotion in a way text never will.

That’s why the best strategy is a mix:
→ Static posts for reach
→ Video for connection
