The Gummy Project

Supporting endangered species, one gummy at a time.

The Gummy Project is a purpose-driven brand that sells low sugar, plant based gummies. For every bag sold, we donate to support endangered keystone species. After launching in Canada, we expanded into the US and became available for purchase at Safeway, Sobeys, Whole Foods, Flair Airlines, Fairmont Hotels, Four Seasons, Wynn/Encore Hotels in Las Vegas, and my personal favourite - at Winnipeg Jets games. 

All the while, working to support The Bee Conservancy in New York and Ocearch, a global organization working to bring our oceans back to a place of health and abundance.

At Vejii, we believe that by making vegan products more accessible to all, we can enable humanity to take better care of themselves and the planet.

The goal was to create the "Vegan Amazon." A one-stop online shop for everything vegan, from food and grocery to cleaning products, pet supplies - even wine! The company went public within one year, growing from the US into Canada and the UK, before ultimately being acquired :)

Think Shift

Responsible for acquiring new clients and growing YOY revenue growth, I took a 15-year old company from $3.5M (annually) to $14M (annually) in just three years, by creating an innovative content and inbound marketing program, that included marketing and sales automation platforms.

We grew the business from Canadian clients in the US, Europe and Middle East during this time and I had the honour to lead strategic planning workshops in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Israel, Switzerland and the United States.

Over the past 23 years, Anthony has built six companies, published two books, spoken at events around the world, worked with executive leaders in 17 countries and been recognized with 11 international marketing awards.

Although a 23-year agency veteran, Anthony's unique perspective was born and bred in the 9+ years spent client-side, living in Europe and working with some of the best agencies in the world (Ogilvy, BBDO and more).

During this time, Anthony researched, evaluated and was pitched to by hundreds of agencies - making him an expert in what clients truly look for and care about when selecting an agency.

As a testament to this, in 2011, Anthony was brought on by the Canadian government to help redefine their RFP process for Canadian Crown Corporations.

In 2013, Anthony 'defected' back to the agency side, where he used his 'inside information' to grow a small agency from $3.5M to $14M in just three years; growing the client base from North America into Europe and the Middle East.

To date, Anthony has closed over $43M in agency new business and financing.

As a tenacious entrepreneur, Anthony has also built his own consulting practice and co-founded two ecommerce companies - exiting both successfully after taking each of them public (CSE) within 12 months.

I worked with the Director of Content to establish writing guidelines for VidCruiter to create consistency and establish a clear tone and voice for the brand. In this role, I produced high-quality content pages to help position VidCruiter as a leader in interviewing, and rank for several key terms on the Google SERP. I delivered well-researched, informative articles that were packed with valuable tips, insights and examples for the target audience. I also edited submissions from external writers and wrote a 60+ page whitepaper about structured interviewing, blog posts, and several case studies.

At Think Shift, I wrote every kind of ad copy you could think of, plus a few kinds you probably didn't think of (Spotify playlist descriptions and Christmas cards!). I collaborated with other members of the creative team and accounts to develop and present concepts to clients and execute campaigns.

I taught The Community Gym's unique rhythm-based boxing class. I explained the fundamentals of technique, created a welcoming and exciting atmosphere, showed participants how to put on wraps and curated new playlists.

I managed all external and internal facility bookings at the RRC Princess Street campus, worked with clients, and coordinated with other departments (marketing, president’s office, food services, maintenance) daily.

I planned, executed and promoted a monthly event for local Bumble users and oversaw the Winnipeg city reps. I also oversaw the local influencer strategy, pitched stories to the media and acted as a brand representative for earned coverage.

I worked directly with clients and saw projects through from strategy to execution. I developed influencer outreach, PR and partnership strategies, pitched stories to media, and conducted brand, website and social media audits. I also managed client social media accounts and delivered monthly reports.

A major component of this role was writing press releases, social media posts, brand journalism articles, website copy, blog posts and more.

Account Manager

AdEasy Inc.

In this role, I built and maintained relationships with clients in addition to writing. I researched, wrote, planned and presented digital marketing campaigns to clients, then produced all the written content for the campaigns and managed 10+ social media accounts for six clients. 

This role also involved creating targeted social media ads, monitoring their performance, and managing monthly digital advertising budgets.

Culture Days | Fête de la culture

This job was equal parts events and marketing. 

On the events side, I developed and maintained Culture Days contact databases, conducted outreach, liaised with activity organizers and venues, and worked with the curator on logistics for the three major installations this year. 

On the marketing side, I wrote press releases, articles, blog posts, social media copy and more, proofread print materials, and used Adobe InDesign and Photoshop to create graphics. I managed the Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for both Culture Days Manitoba and Nuit Blanche Winnipeg leading up to the event and during the event. I also updated the Culture Days Manitoba website and worked with a web designer to develop the Nuit Blanche Winnipeg website and the program guide for the event.

Marketing and Communications Coordinator

I'm a writer. I always ask questions and do research before my fingers hit the keyboard. You can throw anything at me and I'll do my best to catch it and make it easy to understand (transportation? agriculture? technology? law? I've done it all). I believe the best writing includes storytelling and empathy. Inclusion is non-negotiable.
