I tripled my income last year.
And still ended the year with this sneaky, unshakable thought:

“I didn’t do enough.”

I had set big, exciting goals: 

→ Fill my group program WealthElevation
→ 10k+ followers on LinkedIn 
→ A six-figure business

And while some of it happened, some didn't.

So naturally… my brain did what brains do. 

It hyper-focused on the gaps.

The should’ve’s.  
The not-quite-yet’s.  
The why-am-I-not-there-yet’s.

You know what's ironic about it?

I literally coach my clients on this.

"Your income doesn’t determine your worth.  

Hitting or missing your goals doesn't say anything about you as a person.

And yet, there I was... doing the very thing I teach others not to do.

At 21, I walked away from the life I was "supposed" to live.

That one decision shaped the life I’ve been building ever since.

And this time next week, I'm going back to where it all began.

The last time I was there, I was 5 months pregnant (📸) 

Now I’m taking my daughter to show her my home away from home 🥹

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know this: 

Cape Town was home for almost 7 years 

In 2014, I graduated from university in Germany and knew: 

I can't stay here. 

The weather 
The lifestyle 
The people (sorry!) 

It wasn't for me.

I got the pull for a different life.

One with more adventure, sunshine, and a lot more uncertainty.

So at 21, I deregistered from Germany, sold all my belongings, said bye to friends and family, and moved 13.474km south (alone).

It wasn’t smooth.

I had no real plan.

Started in a call centre earning 500€ a month.

I felt lonely, scared, and completely out of place more than once. 

Going back home would have been easier a lot of the time. 

But I kept going.

Fast forward to now, I can look back and say:
 
I’ve been true to myself.  
I’ve never let fear get in the way of my dreams.  
I’ve built a life that feels deeply aligned.
 
Expat life can be hard, and it comes with a cost (more on that soon).
 
But if I had to choose again?
 
I’d still choose uncertainty over comfort... every single time.

24 hours. One heart attack.
Stress level: 110. But… We made it.

24 hours of solo travel with my 2.5-year-old daughter started great.

After the first 3 hours, I messaged her dad:
“We have an amazing daughter. She's the best travel buddy ever.”

20 minutes later:
“I take it back. She nearly stole Swiss chocolate from duty free.”

And the chaos began.

What followed:

→ Repeatetly running away at the crowded airport because “mum chasing me” is apparently the best game ever

→ Me realising I owe a formal apology to every parent I ever judged for using a kid leash (I get it now. I truly do.)

→ Leaving me standing alone in front of border control while she sprinted off like she had places to be

→ Boarding the plane like a live-action obstacle course: her running, me chasing, luggage everywhere, dignity nowhere

And just when I thought we were done…

She opened the car door on the highway.

Yes, I forgot the child lock.
No, this will never happen again.
Yes, my soul left my body for a moment.

Not my proudest moment but I had to close the door while driving… anyone who’s been to Cape Town knows: You don’t stop on the side of the highway.

To say it was an eventful 24 hours is an understatement.

No investing content today.
Just a glimpse into the PERSONAL side of my personal brand (and life chaos at its finest)

Very happy to be back in the mother city, even if our entrance was rather dramatic.

Motherhood builds resilience in ways no business or leadership book ever could 🫠

PS: Dealing with market volatility is nothing compared to dealing with a toddler on the loose

It’s January 6th. And I haven’t set my New Year's intentions yet. (And I’ve decided that that’s okay)

The year started fast.

The Christmas break wasn’t a reset... it was the flu, family things, and very little mental space.

Add a toddler to the mix and suddenly the idea that everyone should have crystal-clear intentions by January 1st feels… 

Disconnected from real life.

For some, January 5th is the first full day back at work. 

For most working moms, it's the first day back without toddler responsibilities. 

The first day to have some alone time to actually think. 

So while my LinkedIn feed is flooded with New Year’s intentions and resolutions (love that for all of you)

I’m choosing a different energy for 2026… 

No forcing.
No rushing.
No pressure to "reinvent" myself.

Intentions don’t lose their power just because they’re set later in the month.

And momentum built slowly tends to last longer anyway.

So, if you’re also still finding your footing this year, please know that you’re not late.

You’re human.

It's years ago, but I still remember it like it was yesterday.

I was at an event in Cape Town.
Another networking evening I almost skipped.
But something inside me told me I had to go.

The woman on stage started talking about investing...
But not in the way I’d heard before.

No complicated charts. 
No intimidating jargon.
Just clarity. 
Simplicity. 

She showed us the power of compound interest. 
How your money, when invested wisely, could grow quietly in the background.

Not just in theory. In real life.

And then she said two words, that completely changed the game for me:

Index Funds.

She explained them so simply:

And in that moment, I felt it.

Here‘s the thing with overthinking. 

It doesn’t get better the more you think - lol.

What you need to do is just take action. 

A tiny action in the right direction. 

I don’t usually post on weekends since I value my time off and want to be present with my family. 

It‘s become a secret rule that I don’t have to show up on weekends. 

But I joined a 30-day challenge… to post every day.

This morning I started to feel the pressure.

What to post about. 
Something of value. 
How not to fall off track.

I quickly realised I started to fall into overthinking and perfectionism.

One of the reasons why I‘ve struggled with consistency on here.

But you know what? 

Maybe sometimes you don’t need the perfect post.

Right now this challenge is just about showing up consistently. About building a habit.

So here I am enjoying the Saturday sunset by the beach and showing up.

true story: i was outbounded by a tibetan buddhist lama due to my linkedin presence

it was super flattering, but i had committed to starting becoming the bridge with jack just a few weeks prior so i turned down the opportunity

(still pretty cool to think that in another timeline i could have been working with a great spiritual leader, sharing a practice that i have studied in and has directly benefited my life!)
