Helped mentor a class of 30 students in the cohort below me as they took the first of two research courses in my graduate program- hosting review sessions, and meeting with individuals and groups to discuss research concepts and their research studies.
Led a group of 4 peers over the course of one year in creating a research study exploring the sensory preferences of undergraduate students and their impact on GPA. Our manuscript is currently under review for publication, and in April of 2022 we presented a poster based on our work at the American Occupational Therapy Association's annual conference. 
Mentored a group of 4 students as they completed a research study investigating the normative data about sensory preferences of college students and their relationship with individual mindfulness. This manuscript is currently under review for publication.

Heres my story. 

In February of 2022, I decided to learn data analytics for fun. I created a Tik Tok account, and started documenting my journey to learn this new hobby (@anniesanalytics). 

Very soon, I realized that every day I was waking up and just wanting to write SQL, build visualizations, learn Python.... Work with data! So, I decided that once I finished graduate school (in Healthcare) in July, I was going to become a data analyst. 

Along the way, I have shared here and on Tik Tok everything I can about what it's like to learn data analytics, and how you can do it for free or at least very cheaply. I've shared about the ups and downs of job searching. I've even shared about how I have built a portfolio, and set myself up as a real analyst.

● Mentored a technical employee who utilized Power BI to create a dashboard that allowed IT leaders to visualize and analyze data from security event logs on 76 IT systems and databases.
● Facilitated the development of MS Excel pivot charts that provided insights to team leaders enabling them to focus resources and remediate over 1,200 high-risk software vulnerabilities on 23,000 devices.
● Oversaw the development and implementation of a continuous monitoring program that verified application and network compliance with cybersecurity technical implementation guidelines monthly, ensuring the system compliance percentage remained above 80%.

Deputy Chief of Staff, Communications Systems & Cybersecurity

● Guided the development of performance metrics that measured productivity of the organization with 70% of employees working remotely during the COVID pandemic, resulting in Senior Executive approval for the continued use of telework after restrictions were lifted.
● Identified and presented a critical funding shortfall required to transition 1,600 network circuits to a new service provider; obtained Senior Executive approval for the additional funding to complete the project, resulting in savings of $18 million annually.
● Reviewed and prioritized the organization’s budget requirements ensuring that the annual IT budget of $200 million supported the operations and maintenance of all mission critical infrastructure and systems.
● Led the analysis of the section’s key functions and personnel structure to identify areas that could be consolidated, resulting in a 10% reduction of military personnel.

● Cleaned, manipulated, visualized, and analyzed raw data using spreadsheet software (i.e. Google Sheets), SQL (i.e. MySQL), and BI data visualization tool (i.e. Tableau).  
● Conducted an exploratory data analysis (EDA) to provide key stakeholders with data-based evidence of user success characteristics to make the business case for additional funding.
● Created DDL and DML SQL queries from formal and ad hoc data requests to draw insights and make data-driven recommendations to support company growth. 
● Built a Tableau Story with interactive dashboards and dashboard objects to report insights from the comparative analysis completed in Tableau Desktop to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

● Identified $250,000 in excess procurement funding and obtained Senior Executive approval to utilize it to procure a new IT system that would provide reliable support for detention operations.
● Evaluated requirements and led the implementation of new technologies and IT capabilities such as video teleconferencing, WiFi, and cellular hotspots that enabled collaboration and ensured continuous detention operations under COVID-19 restrictions.
● Analyzed the section’s key functions and personnel structure to identify areas where functions could be consolidated, resulting in a 25% reduction of personnel.
● Provided oversight for a $1.5 million server/data storage infrastructure modernization project that increased storage capacity from 200 to 1.500 TB and enabled off site back-ups of critical data and records

● Identified $500,000 in unused procurement funding and facilitated their transfer to a high priority CIO project that modernized the warfighting network used by U.S. Forces Korea 
● Partnered with Army CIO budget analysts to draft coordinated responses to Congressional inquiries into funding for Army Enterprise Software Licenses and Enterprise IT services.
