Helped mentor a class of 30 students in the cohort below me as they took the first of two research courses in my graduate program- hosting review sessions, and meeting with individuals and groups to discuss research concepts and their research studies.
Led a group of 4 peers over the course of one year in creating a research study exploring the sensory preferences of undergraduate students and their impact on GPA. Our manuscript is currently under review for publication, and in April of 2022 we presented a poster based on our work at the American Occupational Therapy Association's annual conference. 
Mentored a group of 4 students as they completed a research study investigating the normative data about sensory preferences of college students and their relationship with individual mindfulness. This manuscript is currently under review for publication.

Heres my story. 

In February of 2022, I decided to learn data analytics for fun. I created a Tik Tok account, and started documenting my journey to learn this new hobby (@anniesanalytics). 

Very soon, I realized that every day I was waking up and just wanting to write SQL, build visualizations, learn Python.... Work with data! So, I decided that once I finished graduate school (in Healthcare) in July, I was going to become a data analyst. 

Along the way, I have shared here and on Tik Tok everything I can about what it's like to learn data analytics, and how you can do it for free or at least very cheaply. I've shared about the ups and downs of job searching. I've even shared about how I have built a portfolio, and set myself up as a real analyst.

Health-tech company specializing in AI-centered cancer care provision
• Created, tested and maintained PowerBI Dashboards for clients
• Created ad-hoc analyses for VieCure’s internal team
• Designed a patient billing model to analyze VieCure’s estimated revenue
• Cooperated across 3 departments to establish different pricing tiers
• Queried VieCure’s 17k-row database for patient billing estimates and aggregated the data in MS SQL Server
• Prepared a Patient Billing dashboard in PowerBI with current and projected revenue estimates

•	Collected and organized data about East African education institutions, from which the organization established professional connections with 5 high schools and universities in East Africa, which created 4 new college scholarships for African students.
•	Used Excel to perform 12k-row database management duties.

Lead Data Intern

Princeton University

•	Designed a year-long independent research project exploring the effects of trauma exposure on the mental health of American inner-city dwellers using the Fragile Families dataset.
•	Performed data cleaning and exploration on 20 years’ worth of data in Excel and later performed statistical analysis and data visualization in R.
•	Produced an exhaustive 75-page research paper on data-driven hypotheses to encourage resilience by disrupting the link between trauma exposure and traumatization among vulnerable populations.
•	Received A-grade for quality of thesis.

Quantitative Research Project: "Mental Health and Resilience"

I am a data storyteller passionate about the intersection of data analytics and the social sciences. I have a BA in Quantiative Sociology from Princeton University and an M.S in Data Science from the University of Denver. Each degree allowed me to respectively hone my soft and technical skills, making me an ideal bridge between the two worlds. My hope is to combine my background in quantitative social research with my data science skills to become a technically-proficient yet human-centered data professional.
