Opened up a cafe in Old Manali, BYOV- Bring Your Own Vibe 

When I was a kid, My grandfather told me story of  “A Frog in the Boiling water” 

If you put up a frog in water and start heating it. The frog starts to adjust it’s temperature and doesn’t take a jump to get out. The more you heat, more it adjusts. Then comes a time where the frog couldn’t go any further and plans to take a jump. But by then, all of its energy is dissipated and it couldn’t take the jump. 

As a result it dies. 


Similar was the case with me. When I was a salaried employee. 
I wished myself a lot of travel, opening up a cafe, spending time with my family, having a slow morning tea and wandering without a destination. 


Covid gave me that realisation that nothing stays permanent and delaying actions is just adjusting to the boiling water. I observed how everyone has a startup idea, wants to travel, wants to live their dreams but are still drinking it out in the nights and again starting with Monday Blues. 


To be honest, it felt very comfortable to get a monthly salary and why not because the education I got deserved the money. As per the Indian middle class rules. 

I went to Manali, during work from home stint. Travelled around entire Himachal, Russia, Dubai and Ladakh. 

Each for minimum one month. 

It gave me sense of what life could look like it I took that leap of faith well before the water gets hotter enough to kill me. 

With no concrete plan. I quit the job. 

Started with trading and opened up my cafe. 

Both of them suffered losses for the initial period of 6-8 months. But I built the nerves that I could do more and the dopamine of a monthly fixed income doesn’t affect me much. 

Since then till today. I’ve taken a lot of jumps before the water gets hotter. It has paid me in terms of defining my personality. Challenging myself every now and then. 

The life isn’t pretty predictable in these shoes but it’s pretty exploitable everyday. And I like it this way. 

Feels content to have walked the TODO list and it’s time to create a new one.
