"I finally registered my company. Yaayyy." 
This is what I told my husband when my certifications came through. 

His reaction - Really! That's nice. Relax it's just a soleproprietorship. 

Me: Silent. 

Me: Still... who else has a company registered on their name in the family and can proudly say I own it? 

Him: Hmm true. 

This was 2.5 years ago. And those lines still sting. 

Sometimes even people closest to you will not be able to relate to what you have achieved. And it's okay. 

You know the work you have put in to get there. 
How much you put on the sidelines to keep that focus. 
And how many sleepless nights you have had taking that decision. 

The best way to answer these objections or speculations: 
▪️Let your work speak for you. 
▪️You have to learn to ignore or else they will consume you. 

Don't get me wrong - I love my partner but sometimes not everything you do will align with them either. 

It's the same with LinkedIn. 
Not everyone will cheer you for showing up. 
They don't have to. 

You just need to convince yourself to show up. 
That's it. 

Some will mock you 
Some will ignore you 
But you know what you have to say is worthwhile.

The Founder fallacy that silences 90% of Great Leaders. 

Most B2B founders don’t lack insight.
They lack permission to believe their insight matters.

Last week, a client said to me:
“𝘞𝘩𝘰 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 𝘮𝘺 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘶𝘱 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯?”

I’ve heard this over 100 times from CEOs, Presidents, and senior leaders - across industries that command millions in revenue and thousands of employees.

Here’s the irony:

The people who think their words don't matter…
are usually the ones people listen to the most.

In 5+ years of building executive brands, I’ve learned this pattern:
1. Founders underestimate the value of their day-to-day decisions.
2. Their teams overestimate their clarity.
3. Their market never hears their thinking - only their product.
4. Their silence creates communication gaps that cost them trust, talent, and pipeline.

That’s the part most leaders don’t realise:

But very few have the language to turn it into content that builds influence.

I am a mom of 2 so the concept of work-life balance is thrown out of the window. 

Because one or the other part of my life always needs my attention. 

4 yrs ago, when I was picking up pace as a solopreneur, my hours were erratic. Some days required me to work 15+ hours a day.

Those words. Those very words are the ONLY reason I have kept going.🥹

The belief my kid showed in me reaffirmed that I was doing something right. 

So if you are talking about work-life balance. 
It doesn't exist at the beginning. 
It is a luxury you can see later in life. Maybe. 

If you are solopreneur, freelancer, entrepreneur and pretty much everyone doing their own thing - I feel you🩷.

Why Templates Fail for 8/10 Founders - And What Actually Works! 

In the last four months, I tested 55+ viral templates:
hooks, formats, CTA structures, everything.

None of them moved the needle.

Here’s why - and it’s especially true for founders, CEOs, and Presidents:

𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭.

Templates optimise for:
- virality
- aesthetics
- shareability

But founder brands need something completely different:
✔️ trust
✔ clarity
✔ consistency
✔ authority
✔ original thinking

A template can give you structure.
It cannot give you 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞.

After writing for founders for 5+ years, here’s the real reason templates fail:

1. Your thinking → isn’t template-shaped.
Founders speak in philosophies, decisions, trade-offs - not listicles.

2. Templates remove your distinctiveness.
Your worldview is the asset. A format shouldn’t flatten it.

3. Leaders must sound like leaders.
- Not creators.
- Not marketers.
- Not Canva slides.

4. Templates suppress nuance.
A founder’s best content comes from lived experience, not format constraints.

A simple 3-part system I use with clients:

2. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞
Why does this matter to your industry 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘸?

3. 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐎𝐕
What is your non-negotiable belief that others won’t say out loud?

When you combine those three, you no longer need templates.

You’re not chasing virality.
You’re building reputation.

So next time you download a “viral template pack,” remember:
- You don’t need the format.
- You need the thinking behind the format.

↳ Replying to all comments on their posts. 
↳ Connecting with leaders over DMs.

Thumbrule: 
↳ Every post underwent an approval process. 
↳ Every story was their own and not generic. 
↳ Weekly calls to strategise topics and discuss POVs.

All this took time, process, and systems. 

What you see on the screen is just half the battle. 
The rest of it happens behind the scenes. 

Personal brands are not built by winging it. 
They are built with strategy and intent.

There’s been a lot of conversation lately about 𝘣𝘪𝘢𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘓𝘪𝘯𝘬𝘦𝘥𝘐𝘯.
And honestly - it’s an interesting one.

Because what we often call bias is sometimes just… behaviour reflected back at us.

Recently, I commented on a post by Richard van der Blom, and it reminded me of something important.

I’m also part of Alicia Teltz’s community, and the myths she breaks down about the LinkedIn ecosystem are eye-opening. 

It almost feels like getting a near-backend view of how the platform operates - not perfectly, not definitively, but close enough to understand the mechanics behind visibility.

Here’s the truth many don’t like hearing:
𝐍𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝𝐈𝐧 𝐚𝐥𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐦. 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐬.

But can certain actions influence it?
𝐀𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐲.

LinkedIn works on relevancy.

Your feed is not random. It reflects the topics, conversations, and PEOPLE you tell the platform you care about.

So if I’m consistently engaging with women leaders, founders, or creators in my space, LinkedIn assumes that’s a priority for me - and it will show me more of that content.

Not because it’s biased against others, but because it’s biased towards 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥.

LinkedIn also doesn’t dump everything onto your feed at once - it drip-feeds content to test whether you engage or scroll. 

Every reaction, comment, dwell time, and follow is a data point.

And here’s where we sometimes get it wrong:
1. We assume our experience is the universal experience.
2. LinkedIn doesn’t work on universal rules - it works on personal patterns.

Everyone has an opinion on "how LinkedIn works," and honestly? It’s fine. 
We all learn differently and experiment differently.

But what doesn’t work is shutting down someone else’s viewpoint just because it doesn’t match ours.

Because at the core, there are two things most of us agree on:
👉 Engagement begets engagement.
👉 Specificity drives stronger signals than randomness.

If your content, comments, and network activity are scattered, the platform doesn’t know what to optimise for. But if you're intentional and consistent - LinkedIn eventually responds.

Not overnight. Not magically. 
But gradually - through visibility, relevance, and momentum.

So before we blame the system, sometimes it’s worth asking:
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐦 𝐈 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠?

You are defined by the company you keep. Not everyone needs your attention. Not everyone needs your space. 

Whether it's 20 good people or 5, everyone influences the journey you are on. 

Choose your people carefully. 

You dont need more energy drainers, you need more energy savers. 

PS: I have consciously lessened my interaction with a few in my life because their energy is draining mine. 

How many people have you let go in the last year?

Everyone's chasing likes.

But likes don't pay your bills.

I see founders celebrating 10K likes on a post.
And mine asking why ain't I getting them?

Then I ask: "How many DMs did you get?"

Silence.

Here's the truth most won't tell you:

Viral posts feel good. Real conversations build businesses.

The Interaction Framework for Founders:

1. 𝐄𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭
Ask something specific. "What's your take?" gets nothing. "Which strategy worked for you: A or B?" starts conversations.

2. 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫
LinkedIn's algorithm rewards early engagement. 
More replies = more reach. 
More reach = more qualified leads in your DMs.

3. 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐝
Hot takes get likes. Frameworks get saved and shared. 
Frameworks also get people reaching out to learn more.

4. 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬
Stop counting likes. 
Start counting: meaningful comments, profile views from your ICP, and inbound messages.

5. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬
Don't wrap everything in a bow. Leave room for debate. Invite people to add their perspective.

The shift:
Likes = dopamine hit
Interactions = business relationships

You don't need 10K likes.
You need 10 conversations with the right people.

That's how you turn LinkedIn into a revenue channel.
