This week I had the pleasure of attending the Women of SaaS Berlin New Year's Reception hosted at EY alongside some of the most inspiring women in the SaaS ecosystem! 🚀 

We tackled a question that's on everyone's mind: Is AI spelling the end of implementation partners, or the beginning of something new? The panel with voices from EY, Snowflake, and DeepL brought sharp, honest perspectives that sparked so many questions and insights. 

However it was the conversations between the conversations that stayed with me most. The energy in that room was a reminder of why community matters... especially in an industry moving as fast as ours.

When AI Takes Over – The End of Implementation Partners? 😱 

That was the question we explored at the Women of SaaS Berlin New Year’s Reception.

As AI accelerates deployments, the tension is real: will implementation partners lose relevance?

During the panel, Hanna Paulssen from Snowflake highlighted that having FDEs (Field Deployment Engineers) in-house is a major advantage because of their deep platform expertise and ability to execute deployments effectively 🚀 

And then Shri Varsha from DeepL offered a metaphor that really stuck with the room.

FDEs are like surgeons. They come in and perform the operation. They bring the deep technical precision needed to make the deployment work 💪 

But implementation partners? They are the physiotherapists 💡 

They stay after the surgery. 
They help the organization adapt. 
They drive adoption, behavior change, and long-term value realization 📈 

AI may make the surgery faster. It may even automate parts of it. 
But recovery and sustained impact still require human partnership.

The takeaway was clear: partners are not disappearing. Their center of gravity is shifting.
