Hi, I’m Angela!👋🏻 I’ve been a writer for as long as I could hold a pencil. I’m happiest when I’m building relationships, empowering others, or cuddling with my dog, Elle Jae. I’ve explored 33 countries so far and am always planning my next adventure.✈️

My LinkedIn journey began in 2022 when I was looking for a career change. In just 6 months, I grew an organic following of 15,000, and within 3 years I had built a community of 50,000. My personal brand opened countless doors and ultimately gave me the confidence to leave corporate life and launch my own business in the summer of 2025.🥳

I started my career in education, teaching for 8 years and even helping establish an international school in the Netherlands, where I lived for 2 years. From there, I pivoted into tech, spending 3 years in various B2B SaaS marketing roles before taking the leap into entrepreneurship.

Now I help founders, executives, and small business owners turn LinkedIn into a growth engine by building authority, thought leadership, and visibility to scale their businesses.📈

That matters to me.

I have zero interest in scaling for the sake of it or building a team because that's what entrepreneurs are "supposed" to do.

I'm not building an empire. I'm building a life that I actually WANT to live.

To me, that’s what success and “making it” are all about.

A few weeks ago, I thought I’d be lucky to make $75,000 in my first year of business.💰

But I ran the numbers again today, and realized that I may very well hit 6 figures if things keep going the way they have been.🥹

And that possibility just blows my mind.
It’s absolutely wiiiiild to me.

Especially as someone who left teaching with a master’s degree and 8 years’ experience earning $65K.

Who knew I could start my own business, work from home, and make a WHOLE LOT more?

✅ Fewer hours worked. No children talking back to you. No commute. More sleep.

When I switched careers, I broke into tech and increased my salary by 85%.

I then took a pay cut at my most recent director-level role, making $90K/year and working well over 50 hours a week. I was leading a team of 4.

I cried more than a couple of times in that role.

Now, I report to myself. Have no team to lead. Work when I want to work. No crying. 

…and most likely more money? UNREAL.🤯

I’ll run the numbers again in a few weeks, but just knowing this is possible is game-changing for me.

Because when I launched my own business less than 6 months ago, I had no idea how it would work out.

I wasn’t sure if it would work. If I could make real money. If I could scale it.

I told myself I’d give it 6 months and if it was failing, I’d call it quits and search for a W2 job.

Instead, I’m exceeding my own expectations. And I hit the 6-month mark tomorrow!

If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this post, it’s this: have wild expectations.

Personal branding shouldn’t be treated like a nice-to-have. Because being good at what you do is no longer enough.🤷🏻‍♀️

In 2026, if you want to build trust, differentiate, and drive real growth, your personal brand isn’t optional. It’s a must-have.

The data is super clear:
✅ 74% of Americans are more likely to trust someone with an established personal brand ✅ 73% trust thought leadership more than traditional marketing ✅ Companies with visible founders see 25% more revenue growth

Trust is built by people. Not logos.
I talk about this alllll the time.

You need to build a relationship with your audience. You need to position yourself as the expert in your space.

Yet so many founders and executives I talk to are quiet online. Silent, even.

They’re smart. They’ve built legitimate businesses.
They have real insights and expertise.
 But they don’t talk about it. Instead, they just pay for Facebook ads.🫠

You don’t need to become an influencer or full-time content creator.

But you DO need to become clear.

Clear on what you offer.
Clear on what you believe. Clear on what you stand for. Clear on the conversations you want to lead.

LinkedIn is all about building trust at scale, and in a way that reflects the leader you already are. The person you are.

When done strategically, LinkedIn becomes:
📈 A lead engine 🧱 A credibility builder 🧲 A magnet for partnerships, clients, speaking gigs, and top talent

This is the work I do every single day with founders, executives, and teams.

Visibility is credibility.

Your story matters. And your story can drive real results.

But it’s up to you to tell it.📣

Since launching my business 6 months ago, I’ve had 3 people interrupt me to give me “advice.”🙄

Actually, since launching my business 6 months ago, I’ve had 3 men interrupt me to mansplain.

Whoops — what I meant to say is that since launching my business 6 months ago, I’ve had 3 men I’d never in a million years buy from mansplain how I should “sell” my offerings.

Unsolicited. While in mid-sentence. And in a condescending manner.

It baffled me each time. And then I asked myself, “Why would I ever take business advice from someone I’d never buy from?”

I didn’t like their sales strategy. I didn’t like their demeanor. I didn’t like the way they spoke or carried themselves. Honestly, I didn’t trust or like them.

And I don’t want to be like that.

My priority is building relationships and being myself. That’s it.

I will always be honest, transparent, and kind. I’m not going to push an upsell or recommend something I don’t genuinely believe benefits you.

I want people to work with me because they trust me.

Because they believe in me. Because they respect me. Because they feel heard.

Yes, I’ll lay out all your options and answer your questions. 
No, I won’t recite an elevator pitch or regurgitate the same script I gave the last prospect.

That’s just not who I am. And it’s not how I operate.

Have you ever heard the saying, “I’ve never been disliked by someone I’d want to trade places with”?

It’s the same concept here. Don’t take business advice from someone you wouldn’t want to do business with.🤷🏻‍♀️

And maybe… stop interrupting women.

I generated over 2,000,000 impressions and reached 735,000 people in 2025.

I didn't post every single day. I didn't post at the same exact time each day.

I posted when stories and ideas popped into my head. I posted if I thought it would resonate with my audience. I only posted if I felt I was adding value in some way.

Some weeks, I wouldn't post at all. Some weeks, I'd post once or twice. Other weeks, I'd post a lot.

It depends on what comes to my mind and what feels natural. But I know it doesn't come easy or feel natural to everyone.

There's pressure to follow all the "rules": post daily, optimize your timing, stick to a content calendar, batch your content weeks in advance.

But quality beats quantity every time.
And sustainable beats burnout.

If posting every day works for you, great. If it doesn't, that's fine too. Find what does.

This is the approach I take with my own content, and it's the same philosophy I bring when helping my clients find their voice on LinkedIn.

At the end of the day, your best content comes from showing up as yourself. Anything on top of that is just a bonus.🎉

6 months ago, I launched my own business.
On August 25, 2025.🗓️

And I’m a big believer in building in public.
So here goes nothing!👇

4 years ago, I was just getting started on LinkedIn. I had less than 500 connections, an outdated profile, and NO IDEA what I was doing.😅

But I was determined to leave teaching and start a new career. So I did. 

I built my personal brand from scratch and it completely changed my life:
→ Grew to 15K followers organically in 6 months (54K+ in 4 years)
→ Landed 3 full-time job offers within 100 days of quitting teaching
→ Secured freelance work, podcast features, speaking gigs, and paid brand partnerships

Now, I’m running my own business with all inbound clients:
✔️ 7 speaking engagements
✔️ $33,000 in revenue
✔️ 3 live brand deals
✔️ 18 clients

If you would’ve told me a year ago that I’d be an entrepreneur, I would’ve said “nah.”

Last week, I paid someone to do something I probably could’ve done myself.😅

My taxes.

Normally, I just file them myself using TurboTax. Easy.

But 2025 was a little different.

I worked a W2 job for the first 7 months of the year… and then launched my own business at the end of August.

So I figured it was worth getting some professional help this time around. I’d hate to mess something up and then get audited.🫠

Sure, I probably could have still filed them myself. But I’m really glad I didn’t.

Because the CPA didn’t just file my taxes.

We talked about small business finances and best practices. He answered a lot of questions I didn’t even know I should be asking yet.

And that alone made it worth the investment.

Sometimes you’re not paying for someone to do something you can’t do. You’re paying for their experience, perspective, and guidance.

So this week I’m making a couple of big moves:
• Changing my tax status from sole proprietorship to S-Corp (woooo!🥳) • Moving off spreadsheets and onto actual accounting software (guess I’m a real business owner now)

2026 is my first full year in business.🤩

And while it’s a little scary living in the unknown and not knowing exactly how much revenue you’ll make…

It’s also REALLY exciting.

I want to see just how far I can take this.👀

Entrepreneurs: what’s one thing you finally outsourced that you wish you had done sooner?

Here’s something I don’t see anyone talk about on LinkedIn.

But I know I’m not alone in this:

The fear of your company doing well.

Not because you don’t want to be successful. Not because you don’t want the clients. Not because you don’t want the freedom.

You want all of those things, so much. You really want to grow your business. You’re excited when you land a new client.

But, deep down, you’re scared of failure. You’re scared of something (or everything) going wrong. You’re scared you may in fact be an imposter (you’re not). 

So you procrastinate and put things off. You may even be tempted to self-sabotage before success ever gets the chance to prove you wrong.

You hold back. You underprice your services. You tell yourself you're "not ready yet" even though you absolutely are.

Because if you don't really try, you can't really fail.

But that fear doesn't go away when you hit your first milestone. Or your tenth. It just shapeshifts.

As an entrepreneur, you'll always feel a certain level of fear or uncertainty. The question is whether you'll let fear make your decisions.

Your business deserves better than to be held hostage by "what if."

And so do you!

Starting is the hardest part. Then, I hope you give yourself permission to actually succeed.

The clients are out there.
The opportunities are waiting.
And you're more ready than you think.🙌

I’ve been running my own business for 6 months now, and I’ve just realized something.🫠

I’ve been deep in the weeds.
In the trenches.

Not in a noticeable, dramatic way. But in a quiet, sneaky way.

The kind where I’m:
📈 Keeping track of leads in a spreadsheet
✍️ Writing every single follow-up email manually
🛞 Re-creating the same processes over and over again

I was a teacher for 8 years. A B2B marketer for 3 years.

So I believe in data. I believe in personalization. I believe in working smarter.

And yet… as a solopreneur, I somehow found myself doing everything the hard way again.😅

When you’re running your own business, execution creeps in fast. You blink and suddenly you’re buried in endless tabs and spreadsheets (SOS).

You’re busy, but not always moving the needle. Sometimes it feels like you’re just playing catch-up.

That’s what being “in the weeds” has looked like for me.
So I’ve decided it’s time to get out of them.👀

I recently started exploring ActiveCampaign, and what immediately caught my attention was the idea of automating the automation.

Instead of constantly writing emails and tracking leads manually, the platform helps do A LOT of that work for you. 

The Active Intelligence feature builds campaigns, automations, or segments for you. No need to start from scratch.

It’s still early days for me. I’m still building and learning.

But for the first time since launching my company, I can see a path where I spend less time buried in minute tasks and more time thinking strategically about growth.

•	Directed the “Feed the Hungry” program, a weekly on-campus service opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to prepare and deliver lunches to a partnering human services agency in Santa Monica, CA (The People Concern) for individuals experiencing homelessness, and/or food/housing insecurity.
•	Hire, supervise, and mentor staff of 1-3 work study students.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) funds a number of internships for Catholics in the United States to gain experience working with and on behalf of the poor. These internships occur in around thirty CCHD diocesan offices in the United States, as well as in the CCHD office of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) and the office of the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) in Washington, DC.

CCHD internships combine practical work in carrying out the mandate of CCHD at the local level, opportunities to develop relationships with community leaders, reflection on Catholic social teaching, and opportunities for sharing the experience with other CCHD interns.
