I was incredibly nervous for today but can’t believe the atmosphere! 

We’re in full swing! Our female founders event started at 10 and the buzz is amazing 

I’ve had so many introductions and support in getting this particular event going 

I’d like to thank everyone who’s introduced and recommended some of the people I’ve met, even if they’re not attending today 

Getting to this point, pre event, has been full of learnings and education 

We are not a boys club. I want a business with no segregation. In a strange way I’m disappointed we’ve had to put today on but I know it’ll make us better in the future 


We’ll continue to work on it, learning and changing and the conversations I’ve had over the last 6 months will help that  

I’m hoping everyone can see the effort that comes moving forward and we’ll be taking today’s feedback, as we do with every event, into a session to deliver more events that cater to women and deeper mixed event attendees

We talked about 2025 goals here a couple of weeks ago

I asked if anyone wrote them down in Jan because I did - but had only just refound the list and it hadn’t been top of mind 

From a business perspective I had obviously totally shut off from the consultancy we closed in July as it didn’t even make the list 

RE the events and memberships? 

Didn’t even discuss memberships, was meant to be 2026 

I spoke about wanting 1000 partnerships and 2000 referrals between the business attending the events - my mindset wasn’t on number of events, it was on outcome for attendees 

I have no idea where we are to that number, I lost count in July around the same time my focus was memberships 

A goal I always had was a 10km in less than 40 minutes and that was top of mind at the start of the year

I wanted the outcome but wasn’t willing to put in the hard work to do it, I entered 2025 with a 10k PB of 44.05 

I now know that is a huge amount of time to knock off but I had tried 2/3 times and failed miserably, not even getting past my 44minute time 

Yesterday I did it. I have trained for months towards a specific goal, been sensible in my planning, gained experience along the way (other 10k races) and got the job done 

It was easily the hardest fitness event I have done, no ease up, no rest, no pausing 

Think I grew a little bit yesterday and certainly gained some more ‘confidence receipts’ (taken from Max Hoppy) 

Yeaterday a wise man said to me to leave the analysis and reviews for a few days, let your mind settle 

✅ sharing because we all want things but have to fail to learn what it will take to get them

Watching my wife do her second marathon in 8 months and knock 45 minutes off her time was one of the best experiences I’ve had 

Completing her first marathon in April after never running before this year was my favourite but this, in Valencia, was up there 

What the marathon training blocks have done for her is exactly what I often talk about 

< blocks of resilience 
< blocks of confidence 

Everything in her life has become easier because of her sporting 2025 

100% my inspiration but it’s not just Emma

There is no-one I’ve met who’s a worse person for sticking to a fitness regime

Wow!!!! Yesterday was insane - feedback today even better 

We held our first Female Leader event yesterday 

(that phrase female leader is new, feedback from yesterday already actioned) 

And because I was a) so nervous b) the build up had been so long (and hard) c) there were so many highs and lows with this event, the high I have right now feels super sweet 

Detailed and bespoke female leader questionnaires have gone off to those that joined us yesterday and I'll be getting in touch with all those I met over the last few months to invite them to the next one (we have a date pencilled in already, waiting for confirmation from yesterdays guests before I nail the date down)

A huge decision for me in 2025 was going to see a psychologist

March - July I was questioning everything I was doing and everything other people were doing 

So I sought out a psychologist who had experience working with business owners and people juggling lots of balls 

My brief was simple, get back to my old self.  With the house renovation, closing down one business, launching another - which was massively £ loss making but the feedback was eye opening - evolving family and friend relationships, letting go of clients, the team, etc I was questioning why people were not giving me what I needed - I felt unsupported and had found myself acting very different where I would usually be calm 

So I fixed it.  I focused on my mindset 

As part of an evolving membership package for 2026, ONTO (Dave Callan) and Function are joining forces to hit the mind part of our 'mind, body and business' combination brief our membership promises to deliver 

Whilst Dave isn't providing the same service I went looking for, I want all members firing on top form, focusing on what could be holding them back and I hope this small step can unlock huge outcomes

So, new to 2026, as a Function member, you have a 1hr performance session designed to focus on presence and progress

Yes it’s different. Yes there isn’t anything else like it. But the real reason is simple;

Longevity. We do our little bit towards that by focusing on the founder first, business second 

That’s how I started for myself. Wanted to get fitter and it’s developed into a focus on my longevity, the long game 

I became comfortable in looking at my health, fitness and wellness like a business, aka it doesn’t happen overnight 

We aren’t a fitness membership, we don’t force people to every event, it’s not a lose out situation, we want to help them prioritise their diaries with stuff that is going to make them feel better scientifically, not chemically 

One of the most rewarding parts of the memberships for me is when I see members more active. They are being influenced by their peers (other business owners who are active) 

Funnily enough, their business is still running, often better 

Their confidence increases, they look fitter, they think faster 

We’ve got members travelling to different countries to do events together

Not drinking holidays cloaked as a golf trip 

Not the business trip they feel more tired from when they’re home 

Real brain stimulating, challenging and rewarding trips 

And nothing we do ‘gets in the way’ of anything but attending the office because we don’t drag people away from families. We drag them away from the office, in the mornings, mid week. 

I’ve been focused on my longevity for 2 years 

I’m younger than when I started. It’s a marker, not a look at the future. My choices now determine my ending 

I’ve proven time and time again that focusing on your health whilst running a business is possible, easy even 

You just need to say yes to prioritising it 

Everyone around you will thank you when you do and your growth will take you and others in an exciting new direction 

We launched memberships in September and currently sit at 15 active members with 3 more due to start in the next 2 months, we’d love some introductions to people you feel could benefit from focusing on themselves more via peer group and wellbeing activities

It would have been so easy for me to sign up for Manchester marathon after being in the most insane wave of marathon fever in Valencia, but I know I don't want to (at the moment)
