Nozomi Infotech was created in 2007 in Tokyo after realizing a need for a state-of-the-art Front-Middle-Back Office Software Product for Asian Financial Markets. This innovative idea led to Nozomi Warriors Software Product for Equities, Derivatives, FX, and Commodities.

He is an Indian Origin Person living in Japan for 30 Years. 

Even while working in a High Tech Industry, Mahesh is a Grass root volunteer for School, Temple and Community,

He is fluent in Business Japanese language and has done Business with very very local Japanese Businesses.

Mahesh Deshpande also has a strong willingness to give back to Society, At Nozomi Infotech, 500 students mostly from poor backgrounds were taught the Japanese language in India free of cost.

Mahesh did not go to school until 3rd grade. But later, he scored 100 out of 100 marks in Maths in his 12th-grade class and did his Graduation and Post Graduation in Engineering from a reputed institution in India.

Mahesh’s life is part of a research case study for the Entrepreneurship Course at the International University of Japan (IUJ) and also in other universities in Europe and elsewhere.


Prior to Nozomi Infotech, Mahesh Deshpande was the CTO for Asia at French Investment Bank Credit Agricole in Tokyo. He and His Team developed a Complex Software Platform for Electronic Trading of 20% Nikkei Futures for 10 years in Tokyo.

Mr. Deshpande's previous professional appointment was with Tata Unisys Ltd, in Mumbai.

Mr. Deshpande attended Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) in India.

30 Years in Japan’s Markets

Almost three decades ago, I arrived in Japan with curiosity about markets and a desire to learn.

What followed was a journey through Japan’s brokerage industry — observing market cycles, technological changes, and the discipline required to survive in financial markets.

Along the way I had the privilege of working with remarkable colleagues and learning from the unique culture of Japanese business.


Over the next few weeks, I plan to share a few short lessons from my 30-year journey in Japan’s markets.

Grateful for the people who have been part of this path.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been having multiple conversations around GCCs (Global Capability Centers).

Most discussions today are centered around US, UK, and Europe.

But I believe Japan is the next big opportunity that’s being quietly overlooked.

Having spent 30+ years here, a few things stand out:

• Japanese companies are under increasing pressure to optimize costs and globalize operations
• There is growing openness to leveraging India for talent and scale
• Yet, execution remains a challenge due to language, trust, and structural barriers

After nearly 30 years working in Japan’s brokerage and financial market technology ecosystem, I have been reflecting on the next major transformation in our industry.

Financial markets are entering a new phase where AI will become core infrastructure for brokers, trading desks, and exchanges.

From trade surveillance and compliance to risk monitoring and client analytics, the potential for AI to improve efficiency, transparency, and market intelligence is enormous.

Having worked closely with institutions connected to markets such as the Tokyo Commodity Exchange and the broader exchange ecosystem in Japan, I believe there is a significant opportunity to build AI-driven infrastructure tailored for the brokerage industry.

I have started exploring the idea of developing a next-generation platform bringing AI capabilities to brokers and trading firms in Japan.

At this stage, I am primarily interested in industry conversations and insights.
