In the EHS&T role, I have developed the safety programs, policies and procedures on three mine sites in Africa. This has involved operations management, auditing and incident management, as well as the delivery of training for all staff.

•	Managing contractors and sub-contractors, including resourcing, training registers and legislative requirements.

A major part of the role involves conducting incident/accident investigations and reporting. As part of the role, I have also been working closely with the team who are restructuring the workforce, to support staff with the transition and any additional training required.

As HSE Superintendent for Dayan, I was responsible for oversight of the HSE system, including auditing and compliance monitoring, risk assessment and mitigation, learning and development for staff, team performance and safety budget tracking.

•	HSE lead for Dayan, based at Oyu Tolgoi Mine in Mongolia.
•	Coaching and mentoring a national workforce of 1,100 team members to transfer mining and safety skills, knowledge and experience.

Confederation College

While employed by Confederation College I was one of only a handful of Instructors selected to travel to Northern Ontario First Nations communities to deliver the Mining Essentials program.

The Mining Essentials program was developed in concert with the Assembly of First Nations and the Mining Industry of Human Resources Council (MiHR) and was the only work readiness training program for Aboriginal people in Canada at the time.

I am a results-focused HSE specialist with a verifiable record of investigating, documenting, and rectifying site incidents. 

My career has enabled me to lead large safety and training programs in high-risk environments on complex underground and surface mining sites around the world. This has given me the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people and tailor training materials to different learning styles and experience levels. My experience, ability and qualifications as a training instructor and supervisor allow me the confidence and agility to take-on any job relating to mining and heavy industry, working with diverse people and in a range of site conditions. I am known as a highly skilled and innovative Health and Safety Superintendent, with extensive experience across HSE program development, auditing and compliance; through to HSE training and assessment. 

With work experience across Canada, Mongolia, Tanzania, Egypt and Ghana, I have an excellent understanding of the complex HSE regulations in many countries of the world and have run training programs in a range of cultural settings and contexts. My experience has included both underground and surface mining, with specialist skills developed in Mine Rescue training and coordination. I have worked in diverse mining operations, including gold, copper, zinc, tungsten, uranium and coal.

Many of the environments where I have worked and trained personnel have been remote locations, operating in extreme conditions, particularly extreme temperatures. For that reason, another area of specialization for my training programs includes mental and physical health of staff when working in remote locations.
