The hard part? The website is a Single Page Application. The issue is that Single Page Applications don't reload pages.

That means your standard pageview tags fire once.
Then nothing.

The fix includes 3 things to do:

1. Push virtual pageviews to dataLayer on route change
2. Use these pushes as triggers
3. Fire your GA4 config tag on that triggers, not just page load

Your dev needs to push an event every time the URL changes. Without it, GTM has nothing to listen for.

Most B2B founders skip this step, then wonder why their CAC math is broken.

I audit GTM containers in 45 minutes. Here's my exact checklist:

• Start with the Preview mode. Fire test events on your site. Watch what tags fire, what doesn't, and what fires multiple times.

• Check your GA4 config tag. One per container. If you see two, you're double-counting everything $if this is not an update one$.

• Look at Enhanced Conversions setup. Is it pulling email, phone, and name from the form? If not, your conversion data is weak.

• Scroll through your triggers. Are they clean? Or do you have 47 versions of "Form Submit" because no one deleted the old tests?

• Check your variables. Form IDs and CRM fields should all be mapped. If they're missing, your attribution is guessing.

• Open the Conversions report in GA4. Do the numbers match what your CRM says? If they're off by more than 10%, something's leaking.

• Finally, test your thank-you page. Ideally not to track thank-you pages, I wrote a post about it recently.

I've seen $50k/month budgets run on broken tracking. Don't be that founder.

1. Landing Page Performance
Which pages convert visitors to demos? Not sessions. Conversions.

2. Traffic Source ROI
What channels drive qualified pipeline? Google, LinkedIn, or organic? Track cost per demo, not just clicks.

3. Conversion Paths
How many touches before a demo books? This tells you if attribution is broken or if nurture needs work.

4. Form Completion Rate
Where do people drop off? Fix the form, not the traffic.

5. Returning Visitor Behavior
Are they coming back to book? Or bouncing? This signals intent quality.

Skip the vanity dashboard and track what ties to revenue: demos booked, SQLs generated, CAC vs CLV.

If a report doesn't answer "did this drive pipeline?" don't waste time on it.

Most advertisers ignore their Google Ads search terms report. They look for obvious waste and move on.

But the real value is understanding what's already working and where you're losing money without realizing it.

Here are 3 things to review every week:

1. When people see your ad but don't click
Your ad is showing up when someone searches, but they scroll right past it. Usually means one of two things: your headline doesn't match what they're actually looking for, or a competitor's ad is more appealing and sitting above yours.

2. The searches that bring you customers but only once
Sometimes someone types in a specific phrase, clicks your ad, and becomes a customer. But it only happens once because that search term is buried with hundreds of others. I pull it out, give it its own budget, and write ads specifically for it so it can bring customers consistently.

3. The wrong people clicking your ads
Let's say you sell premium software. Google might show your ad to someone searching for "free trial" or "cheapest option." You pay for the click, but they were never going to buy. I tighten your settings so you only pay for clicks from people actually ready to spend.

Most accounts I audit are wasting 15-30% of their ad spend on these three issues alone.

I stopped tracking thank you pages in 2024.

Best tracking decision I ever made.

Here's why URL-based conversions are dead:

Thank you pages break. All the time.

Someone changes the URL structure. A dev updates the site. A form plugin redirects differently. Your conversion tracking dies and you don't know for weeks.

Event-based tracking is bulletproof.

Fire a conversion event when the form submits. Not when a page loads. You're tracking the actual action.

Here's what I use now:

1. GTM event listeners OR custom codes on form submissions
2. Enhanced Conversions to pass lead data
3. Server-side events via CAPI when needed

The result? Clean attribution. No ghost conversions. No missed leads because someone hit back or closed the tab before the thank you page loaded.

I've seen clients lose 15-20% of conversions because thank you pages didn't fire. That's not a tracking gap. That's a business problem.

If you're still relying on URL-based goals, you're flying blind.

Switch to event tracking. Your attribution will thank you.

What's your current conversion tracking setup?

Broad match in 2026 can scale or sink you.

The difference? Three guardrails.

I've managed budgets from $20k to $1M per month. Broad match works when you have the right conditions. Without them, it burns cash on irrelevant searches.

Here's when broad match works:

1. You have conversion data: 50+ conversions per month minimum
2. Smart bidding is live: Target CPA, Target ROAS
3. Negative keyword discipline: Weekly n-gram pruning and tight exclusions

Without all three, you're funding Google's discovery budget, not yours.

When to protect exact match instead:

• Low conversion volume (under 30 per month)
• High-intent keywords with clear buyer signals
• Tight budgets where every click counts
• New accounts without historical data

I allocate 70-20-10 across scale-test-explore. Broad match lives in the 20-10 zone until it proves itself. Exact match protects the 70.

Broad match for discovery. Exact match for control.

The mistake? Flipping broad match on without the data or discipline to guide it.

Your Meta CPM jumped 40% overnight. You panic. Blame the algorithm.

But here's what actually happened:

Meta CPM spikes come from 3 places:

1. Auction pressure (you can't control)
2. Creative fatigue (you can)
3. Audience saturation (you can)

I've managed budgets from $5k to $50k monthly. The pattern repeats.

When CPM climbs, most advertisers freeze. Wrong move.

Here's what I do instead:

1) Refresh creative every 2 weeks. Not tweaks. New angles.

2) Kill losers fast with weekly rules.

3) Expand cold audiences before saturation hits. Don't wait for frequency to spike above 4.

4) Rotate offers. Same product, different hook. Price anchor vs social proof vs urgency.

5) Layer retargeting with tight windows. 7-day engagers convert better than 30-day.

The goal isn't cheap CPMs. It's profitable CAC within your LTV window.
If your CPM doubled but your CAC stayed flat, you're fine. If CAC broke your unit economics, kill it.

Track cost per demo, not cost per click.

Am citit recent un fragment din cartea „Psihologia banilor” de Morgan Housel care m-a pus pe gânduri.

La o petrecere organizată de un miliardar, scriitorul Kurt Vonnegut i-a spus prietenului său, Joseph Heller — autorul romanului „Catch-22” — că gazda petrecerii, un investitor foarte bogat, câștigă într-o singură zi mai mult decât a câștigat Heller din toată cartea lui.

Răspunsul lui Heller a fost simplu:
„Da, dar eu am ceva ce el nu va avea niciodată. Eu știu că îmi este suficient.”

Fraza asta spune mult.

În business suntem mereu în cursă. Mai multă creștere. Mai multe rezultate. Mai multe cifre. Și este normal — antreprenoriatul înseamnă ambiție.

Dar există o diferență între dorința de a construi și senzația că nu este niciodată suficient.

Cred că adevărata maturitate financiară nu înseamnă doar să faci mai mult, ci să știi la un moment dat ce înseamnă „destul” pentru tine.

Pentru mine, creșterea trebuie să fie sănătoasă și echilibrată. Nu doar mare.

Voi cum definiți „suficient” în viața și în businessul vostru?

Eu învăț cel mai mult în viață prin exemple.
Și am un exemplu foarte clar despre cum mi-aș dori să îmbătrânesc.

Este vorba despre Șalva Amonashvili, care are 95 de ani.

Recent a avut o problemă serioasă cu inima. A mers în Georgia pentru o operație deschisă. După ce medicii au făcut incizia, au realizat că nu aveau dimensiunea corectă a valvei și au fost nevoiți să îl închidă fără să finalizeze intervenția.

Familia l-a transportat apoi într-o altă țară, unde operația a fost făcută cu succes.

Ceea ce m-a impresionat cel mai mult nu a fost doar faptul că a trecut prin această experiență la 95 de ani. La câteva săptămâni după operație, era deja într-un alt oraș, ținând un training în fața unei săli pline de oameni.

La un moment dat, cineva l-a întrebat:
„De ce continuați să faceți asta?”

Răspunsul lui a fost foarte simplu:
„Misiunea vindecă.”

De fiecare dată când mergem la Bușteni îl văd înconjurat de copii. Este activ, pozitiv și are o claritate a gândirii pe care rar o întâlnești.

Când îl văd, îmi dau seama că acesta este modelul de bătrânețe pe care mi-l doresc. Nu îmi doresc să ies la pensie în sensul clasic. Îmi doresc o viață activă până la final, în care să continui să creez, să învăț și să dau mai departe.

Cred că felul în care îmbătrânim depinde foarte mult de sensul pe care îl avem în viață.

Sunt curios: voi cum vă imaginați propria bătrânețe?

Se spune că Alexandru Macedon dormea cu „Iliada” sub pernă.

Nu era doar o carte pentru el. O citea constant și se raporta la ea. Își măsura caracterul, ambiția și curajul după Achille și ceilalți eroi din acea poveste. Pentru el era un model interior.

Astăzi, de cele mai multe ori, adormim cu telefonul în mână. Multă informație, mult zgomot, multă comparație și foarte puțină profunzime. Iar apoi ne întrebăm de ce ne este greu să ne concentrăm, de ce nu avem claritate sau direcție.

Din experiența mea, problema nu este lipsa disciplinei. Nici lipsa oportunităților. Problema reală este hrana mentală.

Ce citești, ce urmărești, ce asculți, ce admiri — toate acestea îți construiesc standardele interioare.

Pentru mine, reperele sunt Biblia, cărțile lui Dostoievski, Antonie de Suroj, Robin Sharma, Paulo Coelho și Oleg Gadetsky. Nu pentru că sunt populare, ci pentru că mă obligă să gândesc mai profund. Mă întorc la ele de fiecare dată când simt că mă pierd în agitație sau când trebuie să iau decizii importante.

Dacă vrei putere, caută surse care te dezvoltă.
Dacă vrei claritate, elimină zgomotul.

Nu este despre modă sau trenduri. Este despre standardele pe care ți le setezi în interior.

Întrebarea simplă este aceasta: ce a stat sub „perna” ta aseară?
Pentru că exact asta te formează în fiecare zi. Și, în timp, exact asta vei deveni.

În perioada Postului Mare observ mereu același lucru: foarte repede discuția ajunge la mâncare. Ce este permis, ce nu este permis, dacă este voie cu ulei sau fără ulei, dacă peștele se consideră sau nu „abatere”.

Și, de fiecare dată, îmi dau seama cât de ușor putem reduce postul la o simplă listă de reguli alimentare.

Pentru mine, postul nu este în primul rând despre farfurie. Este despre interior.

Este despre gânduri: cât de repede judec și cât de des încerc, de fapt, să înțeleg.
Este despre cuvinte: dacă ceea ce spun ridică pe cineva sau, dimpotrivă, rănește.
Este despre fapte: dacă trec nepăsător pe lângă o nevoie sau aleg să ajut.

Și, poate cel mai dificil, este despre felul în care mă port cu cei apropiați atunci când sunt obosit, grăbit sau tensionat.

Încerc să țin postul și anul acesta. Dar am realizat că provocarea cea mai mare nu este meniul zilnic. Adevărata provocare este felul în care reacționez, tonul pe care îl folosesc și starea de spirit pe care o aduc în relațiile cu ceilalți.
Poți respecta toate regulile alimentare și, în același timp, să fii plin de iritare sau resentimente.

Și poți greși uneori în ceea ce privește mâncarea, dar să înveți zilnic să fii puțin mai răbdător, mai onest și mai atent la oameni.

Pentru mine, postul este un timp bun să încetinesc și să fac puțină ordine în interior. Să mă uit sincer la mine și să încerc să mai fac un pas spre omul care îmi doresc să devin.

Sunt curios cum trăiți voi această perioadă.
Vedeți postul mai mult ca pe o disciplină alimentară sau ca pe un exercițiu interior?

10 întrebări pe care merită să ți le pui ca să înțelegi dacă ești pe drumul potrivit

Uneori câteva întrebări simple te pot ajuta să vezi mai clar unde te afli și încotro mergi.

1. Dacă mi-ar mai rămâne doar un an de trăit, ce aș face?
Aș rămâne lângă aceiași oameni?
M-aș ocupa de aceleași lucruri?
Dacă răspunsul este „da”, e un semn bun.

2. Când a fost ultima dată când am făcut ceva pentru prima oară?
Un drum nou, un sport diferit, o experiență care mă scoate din rutină.
Când totul devine prea previzibil, înseamnă că ne-am oprit din creștere.

3. Unde voi fi peste cinci ani dacă continui exact așa cum sunt acum?
Îmi place direcția în care merg?

4. Cred cu adevărat în ceea ce spun?
Sau doar repet lucruri care „sună bine”?
Când a fost ultima dată când am spus ceva cu adevărat din inimă?

5. Ce vor spune oamenii despre mine într-o zi?
Nu mi-ar plăcea să fiu ținut minte doar ca „un bun profesionist” sau „un om care a făcut bani”.

6. Are cu adevărat nevoie cineva de ceea ce fac eu?
Nu un „client” abstract, ci un om real.
Ce schimbare îi aduce ceea ce fac?

7. Care este prețul inacțiunii mele?
Prețul acțiunii îl vedem imediat.
Dar inacțiunea costă, de obicei, mai mult — doar că nota vine mai târziu.

8. Trăiesc cu adevărat sau doar mă pregătesc să trăiesc?
Viața trece în timp ce noi facem planuri pentru ea.

9. Ce lecție tot repet în viața mea?
Dacă aceeași situație apare din nou și din nou, probabil încă nu am învățat ce trebuia.

10. Dacă aș ști sigur că voi reuși, ce aș face chiar mâine?
Fiecare dintre noi are un vis pe care îl amână pentru „mai târziu”.
Dar dacă acel „mai târziu” nu vine?

Uneori câteva întrebări incomode pot face mai mult decât multe răspunsuri.

„Indicele Buffett” – raportul dintre capitalizarea pieței bursiere și PIB. În prezent, acest indicator este în jur de 210%, în timp ce Warren Buffett spunea că un nivel sănătos ar fi mai aproape de 90%.

Interpretarea este simplă: atunci când procentul este foarte ridicat, piața poate fi supraevaluată. Când este mai jos, pot exista oportunități.

Se vorbește tot mai mult despre faptul că Europa ar fi, în acest moment, mai atractivă ca evaluare decât SUA, unde piața pare mai scumpă.

Nu sunt consultant financiar, dar ca antreprenor mă interesează cum gândim strategia pe termen lung. Pentru mine, diversificarea și echilibrarea riscurilor rămân principii de bază. Nu cred în decizii emoționale și nici în concentrarea pe o singură piață doar pentru că „a mers bine până acum”.

Cred că întrebarea corectă nu este unde punem tot, ci cum împărțim inteligent.
