- Aligned the strategy and goals throughout the strategic-, E2E- and operational levels with the introduction of OKRs and organisational Feedback Loops.
- Defined and implemented specific Agile frameworks for different contexts in Caixabank and scaling of the Agile organisation (among others: Portfolio Management, Tribes, Chapters, SAFe, Scrum, Kanban).
- Helped the business and stakeholders in the process of managing their demands and involving teams in decision-making, Agile Leadership development.
- Set up, and continuous improvement of tribes and product teams through experimentation with best practices; team facilitation, training and coaching of Agile Coaches, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and teams.

Most people misunderstand engineering seniority.
They think it’s about more code, harder problems, bigger systems...

It’s not.

The real difference between Junior, Mid-level, and Senior+ engineers is responsibility and impact.

Junior engineers are paid to learn.
They execute with guidance and ask questions early.

That’s not a weakness.
That’s the job.

Mid-level engineers are paid to own work.
They take features from idea to production and fix what breaks.

This is the hardest level to leave.
Because it feels like progress, but it’s often just comfort.

Senior engineers are paid to decide.
They make trade-offs.
They reduce risk.
They make the team faster, not just themselves.

Here’s the part no one likes hearing:
→ Progression isn’t about stress.
→ It’s about blast radius.

The more senior you are, the more people are affected by your decisions.

That’s why “just being good at code” stops being enough.

If you want to grow:
→ Take ownership before you’re asked
→ Care about outcomes, not tickets
→ Optimise for team impact, not personal speed

Titles follow behaviour.
Not the other way round.

8 load balancing algorithms you should know:


1️⃣ Round Robin:
It sends each new request to the next server in a rotating order.
↳ Useful when all servers have similar capabilities and you want to spread the load evenly.

2️⃣ Least Connections:
It directs traffic to the server with the fewest active connections.
↳ Useful when servers have different workloads, balancing them more efficiently.

3️⃣ Weighted Round Robin:
It gives more requests to servers with higher weights or capacities.
↳ Useful when some servers are more powerful and can handle more traffic.

4️⃣ Weighted Least Connections:
It considers both server capacity and current connections to assign requests.
↳ Useful when servers differ in performance, ensuring a fair distribution.

5️⃣ IP Hash:
It uses the client's IP address to decide which server will handle the request.
↳ Useful to keep a client connected to the same server, which is important for session consistency.

6️⃣ Least Response Time:
It sends requests to the server with the quickest response and fewest connections.
↳ Useful to reduce delays and improve the user experience.

7️⃣ Random:
It picks a server at random for each new request.
↳ Useful when you don't need to consider server load or differences in server capacity.

8️⃣ Least Bandwidth:
It directs traffic to the server using the least network bandwidth at the moment.
↳ Useful when managing network usage is important to prevent congestion.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
The most effective engineers I know ask the most questions.

Not because they’re stuck.
Because they’re efficient.

Early in my career, I thought asking questions made me look inexperienced.
So I stayed quiet.
Googled everything.
Struggled alone.
Spent hours solving problems someone else could’ve explained in five minutes.

It didn’t make me look smart.
It made me slow.

Then I worked with a senior developer who changed everything.

He’d constantly ask:
“Why are we doing it this way?”
“Is there a cleaner pattern?”
“Has this been solved before?”

They weren’t beginner questions.
They were leverage questions.

And everything around him moved faster.
Pull requests were sharper.
Architecture decisions were clearer.
Mistakes were smaller.

Because the feedback loop was tight.

Software development isn’t a solo sport.
It’s version control.
It’s code reviews.
It’s architecture debates.
It’s shared context.

The best teams don’t avoid friction.
They use it to sharpen decisions.

If you’re the smartest person in the room and never need help, one of two things is true:
→ You’re in the wrong room.
→ Or you’re not pushing yourself.

Asking for help isn’t a weakness.
It’s compression.
It compresses learning cycles.
It compresses mistakes.
It compresses time.

And time is the one thing engineers can’t refactor later.

Most people stay quiet to protect their ego.
The ones who grow fast protect their progress instead.
