As COO of Howard LLP, I led firm-wide strategy and operations during a time of transformation and growth. My role spanned executive leadership, department oversight, and firm integration efforts that positioned the company for its eventual acquisition.

Key contributions included:

🔹 Introduced Lean Six Sigma firm-wide — a game-changing move that significantly improved efficiency, accountability, and cross-functional communication
🔹 Played a key leadership role in merger planning and integration execution
🔹 Mentored emerging leaders and helped scale service delivery infrastructure

This role cemented my belief that operational clarity and leadership development go hand in hand — a philosophy I continue to apply in my current advisory and COO work.

Chief Operating Officer

Howard LLP (Merged with The Bonadio Group 11/1/23)

As CIO of Howard LLP, I led the firm’s technology strategy and infrastructure through a period of digital transformation and external service expansion.

In addition to supporting our internal operations, our IT team also provided technology services to external clients — requiring us to deliver at a higher standard of responsiveness, reliability, and innovation.

Under my leadership, the firm experienced zero technology downtime during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic — a direct result of years of proactive investment in systems, automation, and cloud-based tools.

A pivotal insight emerged during our first Lean Six Sigma project: we didn’t need more technology — we needed to use what we had more effectively. That realization changed how I viewed operational excellence and became the foundation for how I now approach systems, process, and leadership.

This role was a springboard into executive operations, first as Director of Operations and then ultimately as Chief Operating Officer.

Chief Information Officer

Howard, LLP

Oversee HR, administrative, IT, Accounting Services, and marketing teams, focusing on restructuring departments, recruiting and hiring new talent, and enhancing operational excellence. Ideate new service line ideas, such as Lean Six Sigma training and coaching. 
•	Leveraged project management skills combined with IT expertise to transform tax processes; 
        selected vendor to educate team on Lean Six Sigma methodology to streamline repetitive 
        compliance work and increase efficiency, resulting in 3 certified professionals. 
•	Selected to transform accounting services to reduce costs and increase client value; analyzed 
        processes and technologies to create new foundation.

Director of Operations & Strategic Services

Promoted to lead team of 2 in IT activities, including virtualization, infrastructure upgrades, and disaster recovery. Provided internal education that cultivated mindset changes across organization, changing perception of IT department from cost center to revenue-generating operational partner. 
•	Grew client base from 1 to 25 monthly recurring clients; shifted how recurring revenue was utilized 
        to improve margins by meeting minimum license requirements and selling to clients in order to 
        control internal costs. 
•	Initiated and expanded business partnerships, increasing billable hours by 149% since beginning of 
        tenure with average of 13.5% year-over-year growth.

Director Of Information Technology

Challenged low-budget mentality across organization, replacing outdated systems and repairing broken systems to transform IT function. Drove continuous improvements across program development, operational resolution, situational analysis, and technical assessment functions. 
•	Achieved many successes throughout transformation, including active response time to within 2 
        hours, client cost decrease by 35–50%, growth from 7% to 18%, and 99% uptime.

Common Knowledge Research Services provided sample, survey and custom panel building services to marketing research companies in the United States and global community. 
My role included designing the system architecture, hardware selection, software procurement, configuring and installing systems, as well as project management and process improvement
I took an interdisciplinary approach to making sure technical needs were translated into logical, step-by-step processes—in effect, producing efficient and effective results. This involved collaborating with the project manager and the engineering team and taking the lead to translate between the two.
