TeleICU program manager. Accomplishments: Collaboratively Launched TeleICU monitoring to the first two non-St.Luke's community partners, leadership restructuring including hiring, training, mentoring for new nursing supervisor roles. Supporting implementation of mSL (EPIC EMR) go-live and its technical integration into the TeleICU software and clinical workflow. Additionally Served as Interim Operations Manager for the system shared service, Transfer Center.

Operations Director for eICU program(114 monitored ICU beds), collaboration with 5 hospitals, system councils, and site leadership teams to incorporate proactive virtual monitoring into their ICU care model.
Acting Sepsis coordinator for all sites utilizing  eRN team as real time support for Code Sepsis. Involved live and retrospective data collection on Sepsis bundle compliance, and data driven presentations/transparency of "opportunities for improvement"  to influence improved compliance. Program resulted in marked reduction in mortality and decreased progression to shock.

"Electronic" Critical Care RN. Remote monitoring and bedside virtual support using Philips eCM platform and advanced clinical judgement and proactive critical thinking to improve patient outcomes. Monitored up to 50 ICU patients across 5 hospital. Worked directly with eMD Intensivists by notifying of early deterioration, status changes, and communicating  orders and plan of care changes to bedside care team.

Hey, I’m Steve, theGoodWordGuy,
Several years ago, I was at the height of my career and was living my dream life. I had 6 small children, married a wonderful southern girl and owned and operated a very successful restaurant. Then I heard the worst words of my life, “You have cancer.” I found myself in a battle with Stage 2 Colon Cancer at the age of 41.

JOURNALING WAS TALKING TO MYSELF AND I LIKED IT.
After beating cancer the first time, I started journaling my life’s trauma that I was living at the time. So this website is comprised of all the journaling I did when I was sick and in a life panic. Much of what I journaled was just me trying to make sense of my life to myself. If you have been through a serious life trauma you know what I mean…

My journaling includes some early life history, years of spiritual desolation, a self healing plan I wrote for myself and the answer to my never ending quest in life, “What is the meaning of my life” which I successfully answered.

LIFE HAPPENS AND IT SURE DID TO ME…
God says in His good book that He will not give a man more than he can endure. In my case, I think I got the extras from a few other souls.

“Fighting cancer, chemotherapy, chemotherapy poisoning, my father’s death, my cousins death, my best friends tragic death, complete personal and corporate financial loss , enduring depression and social anxiety, fighting two sleep disorders; all this happening in 18 months was almost unbearable.”

As I continued to journal, I recorded all the crazy events that occurred in such a short period in my upside down life. After this series of life traumas started the beginning of my Soft Skilled Living Wellness Workshop© that I wrote to heal my mind, body and soul. Please enjoy...
