I spent 20+ years in startup and corporate roles – learning behaviours and mindsets to lead myself and my teams effectively. I discovered leading can be both fun and results-driven.

I experimented with my career and my life: 
- I took many roles - engg. manager, strategist, ops guy, and then partnerships and sales 
- I worked and lived in different parts of the world - Middle East, USA, South East Asia.

I made life pivots. I dealt with the fear of bringing my income down to zero (twice!) before rebuilding it to higher levels.

I started leading in 2004 (at Wipro), and realised that inspiring and motivating others requires self-awareness and continuous personal development.

At BCG, I learned the foundations of business and leadership.

At HP, PayPal and Visa, I managed, influenced, and motivated without reporting line authority. I survived and thrived in matrixed organisations. I learned how to align, inspire, and clarify. 

At R3, I dug deep to explore myself. I discovered how to support leaders who were topic experts and more experienced than me. I learned how to tap into their intrinsic motivation to enable results we cared for.

These experiences led me to be a coach. I decided to spend the second half of my life actively serving others. I am on constantly learning, feeling challenged, and serving. I share my learnings on LinkedIn regularly.

Direct report to the CEO, with responsibilities spanning sales, strategy, marketing, operations and the P&L; also had a dotted line reporting structure over HR, BU controllership, and sourcing. I managed $1.3 billion in annual revenue (#1 BU in sales for the group), fostered relationships with 14,000 active customers, led a team of 800 employees, and navigated the complexities of operating with 5 brands and 5 frontend systems. Largest distributor for travel products in Brazil (airline tickets, hotel, car rental, etc) 

Spearheaded post-pandemic COVID-19 recovery efforts: restructured leadership, redesigned sales and marketing strategy, introduced a new cross-sell model by leveraging product specialists, and overhauled the customer support operations

Achieved remarkable results amidst challenging environment: +47% YoY increase in total sales, improved customer satisfaction by 60 pts (NPS), successful market launches of new technologies for customers

Business Unit Director - B2B

Delta Air Lines

I oversaw various aspects of Brazil's operations management, including sales and alliances, with P&L responsibilities. I coordinated with matrix teams in revenue management, network planning, operations, HR, and consumer marketing.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I provided strong leadership to the local team, guiding them through the crisis until operations returned to normal.

Led negotiations for the first Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) deal between Delta and a corporate customer in Latin America.

Volunteered for the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) program at the Global Sales organization, where I represented the Latin perspective at a global level and served as a DE&I ambassador in the region.

Country Manager Brazil

Responsible for the sales management in the Brazilian market. Overhauled local sales strategy to ensure a more resource-efficient and customer-centric approach, which included introducing a new channel strategy, reorganizing sales processes and portfolios, refining commercial terms, and redesigning trade marketing tools.

Successfully led seamless coordination between local and global sales teams while effectively managing Delta's strategic corporate accounts in Brazil. Leveraged the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) for more effecting sales operation. 

As a result of the improvement in customer satisfaction, Delta was honored by the Brazilian Corporate Agencies Association (ABRACORP) as the 'best airline for North American Markets' in 2019.

General Manager, Brazil Sales

In charge of spearheading business development efforts, including cross-functional team leadership responsibilities focused on driving sales growth in Brazil. These initiatives encompassed business planning, sales operations, budgeting, forecasting, and more. This involved harnessing analytical and problem solving skills to develop strategic cross-selling strategies with local partners, ultimately expanding our market share. 

Additionally, I successfully executed a new agency and corporate contracting strategy in collaboration with Delta, GOL, and AirFrance/KLM. This project had a positive impact on over 150 corporate customers,  25+ agencies, and involved coordinating a team of more than 100 sales professionals.

Revisited the marketing strategy with focus on strengthening support for the global field sales teams, particularly in the realm of business-to-business (B2B) relationship building. 

Engaged in the company's Zero-Based Budget team as a cost package owner, and achieved cost savings of 10%.

In a leadership role with four direct reports, I was responsible for overseeing strategy and business development activities within the Pulp Business Unit. This encompassed a broad spectrum of functions, including strategic planning, revenue forecasting, business planning, budgeting, industry analysis, problem solving, and more. Actively contributed to the comprehensive go-to-market plan for Suzano's new pulp mill output, which represented a significant 75% increase, thru a comprehensive analysis of customer needs, technical specifications, competitive landscape, and logistics opportunities.

Developed pricing forecasting models, for short and long term, to optimize the Pulp BU's pricing strategy.
