"What do you do if post impressions were low"

Here's what I don't do:
- Think the post sucks 
- Think I'm shadow banned 
- Think low impressions are a bad thing 

Post impressions are a function of 5 things 

In order of importance
- Idea
- Written hook
- Image
- Content
- Formatting 

I will work all the way back up the pyramid 

And ask myself: 

Did the idea deserve those impressions?

And here's where it gets subjective...

A post about a client case studies deserves low impressions.

You're not entertaining or educating without self interest...

So why should LinkedIn push it? 

So yeah if you got 'low' impressions then it was fully deserved.

Nothing is wrong or broken. 

But hey if your goal is to get high impressions 

Then just write a high impression idea post 

- Hiring 
- Rage bait 
- Personal journey
- How much money you make 
- Something to trigger people  

I promise you it's that easy

But then you're going to realize, very quickly - that impressions alone are NOT your goal. 

They never were and never are.

Their offer may be shit, but that's not the real problem

The real problem was my due diligence

Even shitter!

So here's how I fixed it:

1- Ask them what the exact outcome will be
2- Ask them how long it will take them to get you there
3- Ask them the MAXIMUM it will cost you to get you there

Then

4- Ask them to introduce you to 3 people who got there
5- And three people who did NOT

Then

6- Ask them what conditions are needed to get you there i.e. What they want/need from you

And finally

7- Ask them what happens if these conditions are met...AND the outcome is NOT achieved

If ALL answers are favourable, they are worth the "punt"

And asking the one question most people would rather avoid 
"Why am I the problem here?" 

Most people would rather fly to Peruthan sit in their own bullshit 

Because the inward journey? 
That's the one that actually hurts

So where do you start?

Three questions that cost nothing and require no passport

1. Who have I been avoiding a hard conversation with?
2. What pattern do I keep repeating and pretending I don't see?
3. Where am I blaming circumstances for something I control?

Sit with those longer than any ceremony

That's the real retreat

What clients?

Don't change your offer

You don't have the problem of too much demand
You have the problem of no demand

So this idea that you might lose a client
because you say the wrong thing…

Forget it

You can't lose a client that doesn't exist

Most people are protecting a hypothetical customer

A person who isn't in their inbox
Isn't on a sales call
Isn't buying anything
Isn't real

They're holding onto an offer that nobody is responding to
because they're afraid to adjust it

Stubbornness doesn't pay the bills
Feedback does

And right now the market is giving you feedback

You don't need to convince them
You don't need to motivate them
You don't need to sell them on why it matters

They already know

Your job isn't persuasion
Your job is alignment
You connect with the vision

Then you help them get there

That's the difference between pushing someone…
and partnering with someone

The first one is exhausting
The second one is powerful

The person helping you only has value if they know something you don't

Otherwise it's just two confused people agreeing with each other

That's not progress
