Absolutely NOT.

If I was a Head of Marketing at a $5M+ ARR SaaS, pushing my CEO into building a founder brand, I'd Slack them these 7 resources weekly (+1 bonus):

1) 95-5 rule

'at any given time, only about 5% of a company's potential customers are actively looking to buy, while the remaining 95% are not'.

Most SaaS companies build their GTM strategy around the 5%, shoving 'book a demo' ads down the throat of prospects who aren't looking to buy.

2) 'How b2b buyers buy' by Bain & Google

~80% of B2B buyers have a list of vendors in mind before doing any research (day 1 consideration set)
~90% eventually buy from a vendor from that list

The name of the game is being on that day 1 list. Not being on it means you have less than 1% chance of winning that deal.

3) 1-3 competitor founders who are doing it

Give them a ballpark estimate of how far ahead they are (competitor founder #1, #2, #3 vs YOU) across these metrics:

- LinkedIn follower count
- avg. post engagement
- ICP commenters
- reach estimate (100 engagements ≈ 5,000 impressions)

This emotional trigger usually works better than all the fancy scientific papers.

4) Case studies from top B2B companies

- Kacie (ex Sendoso): 120% larger deal sizes + 11% higher win rates when prospects followed their Director+ execs on LinkedIn
- Gal Aga (Aligned): LinkedIn drives 65% of Aligned’s leads
- Peep Laja (Wynter): self-reported attribution shows 80% of demo requests came through his own LinkedIn
- Gong: deals closed 22% faster when buyers felt like they 'knew' the seller
- ElevenLabs Labs: 1.7x higher deal sizes when their execs posted regularly or were followed by prospects, compared to their non-LinkedIn influenced deals

5) Competitor LinkedIn company pages benchmarks

LinkedIn allows you to track 9 competitor pages (go to Company page > Analytics > Competitor).

Add 2-3 major ones, and send the CEO monthly reports on new follower growth (company pages very rarely grow much on their own > their growth is very often a lagging indicator of founder/employee brand growth).

6) A weekly meme/video with Warren Buffet's quotes:

"Brands are moats" 
"A strong brand is really potent stuff."
"[The Moat] can be because...of its position in the consumer's mind...that it has this moat around it."

8) If 12 months pass and none of this works, send them an email titled 'I resign'. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Virio hiring a Head of CEO Content (pay: $450K–$1.5M / year) is a joke. And if you believed it for a second, the joke is on you. Here's 9 reasons why:

1) Within just 2 months, they announced 5 (very similar) marketing job openings:

- Head of Content Marketing ($150K – $250K OTE)
- Head of Content Marketing ($150K - $250K OTE)
- Head of Demand Generation ($170K - $205K OTE)
- Content Writer ($80K–$200K OTE)
- VP of Marketing

'We're hiring' posts always get a lot of engagement and they were gaming it. Then, Paypal's Head of CEO Content job went viral on LinkedIn and they... got inspired.

2) They cannot afford it

Virio is a 12 person company. Eric Lay, the founder, even said around Oct 10th that they 'even dealt with company cards maxing out on launch day'.

They may have raised some money, but based on everything we've seen, I don't believe it for a second that Eric and the team wouldn't shout about it non-stop.

3) Just weeks after posting the job, Eric announces: 'I'm starting a new position today as Head of CEO Content Virio'. Then continues to claim the role is still open.

4) Virio claims to have generated $50M in revenue for clients, but they've produced ZERO proof (case studies, testimonials)

5) Eric's track record is... questionable?

- Co-founder @ ryujinclo (LinkedIn page links to Instagram: 'Sorry, this page isn't available.')

- Founder Elventus (esports coaching, but LinkedIn page links to a construction services site... in Swedish)

6) A few people applied for the role, some said they got auto rejected, others like Morgan Von Druitt, MBA 🔱 reported this:

'I completed an assignment, they got free work out of me, they contacted my references and have since pitched my references. '

7) You simply don't have to pay $450K–$1.5M / year for this role. You can hire best in the game (Alec Paul, Finn Thormeier, me) for $5-10k/month, or a great inhouse marketer for a bit more

9) Lying on LinkedIn for the sake of a strong hook comes natural to Eric (2 LinkedIn posts, but there's a lot more):

Exhibit A: 'Excited to announce that… Our company is shifting to remote.'

The next line: 'That's what I would've done if I didn't want to win.'

Exhibit B: 'I refused to refund a client $110K. Even though we didn’t deliver the service.

The next line: '…is what I would’ve done, if I weren’t building for the long game.' (later also: Here’s the truth: I never even took the payment.')

If you've been building on shaky foundations, your LinkedIn reach got devastated in 2025.  Now, you can blame the algo, or admit that you've lost PMF.

Because organic reach decline on any social media platform is...

A feature, not a bug.

And just like with PMF, when you lose it, the only solution is to PIVOT.

If you're ready for one, here are a few levers you can pull to increase your reach:

1) Tactical (50-200% increase potential)

- write stronger hooks
- clean formatting (no huge blocks of text)
- no reposts, no hashtags, no tags (unless they'll engage)
- native content only (no links, event promo etc)
- try different mediums (text, text + image, video, etc)

2) Strategic (200-500%+ increase potential)

- Create every post for a cold audience
- Content is your targeting (mention your marketing persona, their jobs to be done, category entry points, etc)
- Market the problem, not just the solution (80/20)
- Increase your 'audience' TAM
- Make sure you pass the Turing test (it's the age of AI!)
- Build a network (like a genuine engagement pod)
- Be known for one (set of) thing(s)
- Stay within your Realm of Relevancy
- Stack with other efforts (product launches, events, etc)
- 'Everything is a launch' mentality, create true spectacles
- Create loops (e.g. live event > OG data > LinkedIn)
- Experiment hard until you find your Founder-message fit (the overlap of your expertise + audience interests + your product)
