None of the above happens without thinking a lot about leadership, both of my direct reports and cross functional colleagues while caring a lot about the intersection of data and creativity.

10 months of growth. Then January hit: A bad month, a trip to Africa, the worst flu of my life, and other headwinds all at once.

We were. Not because we saw January coming, but because we'd been running the 70/30 rule:

70% of effort on what's working, 30% on preparing for when it stops.

By the time the rough patch hit, we already had experiments running in new channels. 

A product initiative in development. And meetings with senior leadership from three months prior mapping out exactly this scenario.

Most teams don't prepare for the bad months, because they don't believe it will come. Then it does. And they scramble.

𝗜 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟭𝟬 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗜 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿. It connects my calendars, emails, Slack, iMessages, and to-dos into morning previews and end-of-day summaries, then dumps everything into Apple Notes and pings me when it's ready.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗻 "𝘃𝗶𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴":

It's not actually accessible yet. Between configuring data sources, building AI logic for email parsing, selecting models, and wrestling with security protocols, this took serious technical chops. The "anyone can build" narrative is premature. Most people would hit a wall in the first hour.

𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗡, the process became dangerously addictive. I kept tweaking, refining, going back for one more iteration. At some point I realized I was more in love with building than with what I was building. 

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗽𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗶𝘁 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴.

Developers aren't going anywhere. If anything, this widened the gap. Good developers can now ship at 3x speed. Great developers are becoming superhuman. But the barrier to entry? Still high.

What I learned building my "personal AI":

Security was my forcing function. With AI agents proliferating, I wanted a controlled way to share context between tools (and with myself) without spraying sensitive data everywhere. This became my secure handoff layer.

The humbling part? 90% of the value came from basic automation with no AI required. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗜 𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. 𝗜'𝗺 𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲.

Now I'm rethinking the interface. Right now it leans too heavily on manual Apple Notes input. In the next few weeks, I'll likely build a proper UI to replace that bottleneck and see if this thing actually scales beyond my specific workflow.

They play the Known Well Game.

And it’s simpler than you think:


1) Comments

They build a list of the right accounts... people they want to be known well to (ICPs, influencers with their buyers).

They show up every day, pay attention to posting times, and leave insightful comments.

These look like mini-posts, because their aim is to make impact and become known to the right people.

2) They have an indoctrination content ladder

They don’t create for mass appeal.

They understand what’s required to take their specific ICP from skeptic to ready-to-buy ... and they focus on that ruthlessly.

These posts might get less than 10 likes… but the DMs are on fire.

3) They have an outbound motion that feels like inbound

They may not get the turbo reach of big accounts, but dialled-in content lets LinkedIn bring the right people to them.

They leverage profile views, engagement, and followers to start conversations with members of their small but mighty Known Well audience.

Using AI tools, they automate the top of this conversation and only jump in when people are interested and responding.

That’s how you get 10 people to wire you $100k.

That’s the game I want to play.

Build deep trust with people you can truly help.

Everything else on LinkedIn is noise.

There’s a new breed of agency founder emerging in 2026.

They don’t chase likes.
They don’t live in the DMs.
They don’t grind comments.

P.S I took these photos on my 4th holiday of last year with my Colombiana. It was the 3rd time I went to the Carribean. And it was only made possible by having a agency with the right systems to replace me as the bottle neck. You can do it too.

Yesterday I had a call with two guys who’ve built outbound DM workflows for some of the biggest 7-figure agencies and 7-figure creators.

What they said to me made my blood go cold about client acquisition on LinkedIn.

Here’s what happened:

Me: “What have your other clients been seeing on LinkedIn? I’ve seen a drop-off in inbound leads. If we didn’t do warm outbound, we would be broke tomorrow.”

Consultant: “We’ve definitely seen clients getting less engagement across the board, and that’s meant less intent to contact from posts.”

Me: “**** I know it feels tough out there right now. We’re booking calls, but it really feels like the bar has gone way up… In your opinion, do you think it’s all going to ZERO?!”

Consultant: “Not at all. We’ve seen teams equipped with the right processes and systems booking 1–2 meetings every day.”

He paused for a moment and followed up with:

“The bar is set so low on how to progress prospect conversations, it’s never been easier to stand out.”

Here’s what I took from that convo:

There is one hell of an opportunity right now on LinkedIn for agencies who approach and invest real time and focus into their LinkedIn warm outbound.

If you’re willing to figure it out yourself or leverage an expert backed by the right technology, you can gain an insane advantage.

Because here’s the truth…

Your competition still thinks a no-context “pitch slap” message on connect is lead gen.

My advice?

Go deep on creating your founder-led brand with actual insight that’s unique to you. 

Don’t rip your posts straight from AI. 

Use it to scale your ideas and edit the output. Don’t lose the human.

The inevitable outcome of becoming an actual creator is that it’s going to bring you niche authority over time so the algorithm puts your content in front of buyers.

Truly understand the talk tracks that lead to buyers responding, answering, and moving to calls from your LinkedIn profile.

Have a human element responding in your DMs. Founder preferred, but once the process is dialled, a setter can handle it.

You just ned to have meaningful conversations with your customers.

My client Joya Dass fired us after we doubled her business.

Then rehired us to build her in-house Atticus Predictable LinkedIn Sales system.

→ Women’s Leadership Lab went from $150,000 to $300,000
→ Agency spend dropped from $4,000 a month to $400 a month
→ Her LinkedIn system now drives $510,000 in qualified pipeline every month

What you do not see:

We blew up campaigns that stopped working.
We rebuilt whole flows from scratch.
We had dead weeks where nothing landed.

Joya did not blame the system.
She co-created the result.

That is what my best clients understand.

You are not buying magic.

You are building a machine together.
