Allan Adler is a world-class Ecosystems advisor, consultant and change agent supporting individuals, managers and executives to understand and incorporate partnership best practices in service to our businesses, our partnerships, and our planet.   He is the creator of the GoToEco framework that guide XaaS CEOs and C-Suite to unlock the potential of Ecosystem and transform businesses for good by leveraging ecosystem orchestration best practices. 

As Managing Partner at Digital Bridge Partners, Allan is our Chief Ecosystem Officer and drives thought leadership to help clients drive ecosystem differentiation and accelerate their ecosystem flywheel. Allan is proud to be an Executive Member of Partnership Leaders. 

Previously, Allan founded and ran (as CEO) MSI Consulting Group; a 100-person sales and marketing strategy firm focused on the high-tech where he became a leading sales and marketing strategist and visionary. Allan also worked as a consultant with The Boston Consulting Group and received his MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business where he was honored as a Baker Scholar. Allan is also a CPA and serves on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards.

Gamiel has a unique passion for helping drive corporate innovation and grow Mayfield’s early-stage portfolio. He runs the business development function for Mayfield and focuses specifically on accelerating product-market fit and early customer adoption for Mayfield’s investments.

He and his team have built a global network of CXOs, called the Mayfield Innovation Network, made up of CIOs, CTOs, CISOs and business leaders from across all industries, who need access to new ideas to compete in their own markets. This is a highly engaged global network whose members join CXO Insight forums, CXO of the Future Podcasts, and provide CXO Priorities in formal reports.

Gamiel brings more than 25 years of operational and venture capital experience to the Mayfield team. He previously served as Chief Strategy Officer for SOASTA (acquired by Akamai) and was responsible for ongoing operational improvements in sales, marketing, channels, plus strategic partnerships, corporate development, and investment support. Gamiel was also a partner at Sierra Ventures, responsible for leading the Sierra CIO Summit attended by over 150 Global CIOs for eight years. He has also held executive leadership roles at IBM, Oracle, BEA (acquired by Oracle), Appcelerator (acquired by Axway), and Cassatt (acquired by CA).

Gamiel is a California native, father of 3, and husband of more than 30 years. He loves to give back as a volunteer, with a focus on education. He is currently leading an effort as chair of the Career Services Advisory Council at Cal Poly.

The focus is moving to:

This matches what I’m seeing in practice. AI often starts in IT because that’s where the tools, data access, and risk controls sit. But real traction happens only when business teams take ownership of specific outcomes—cost, growth, speed, or customer experience.

The important shift isn’t about taking AI away from IT. It’s about IT enabling it: setting the platform, guardrails, and standards so teams can move faster without creating risk.

As budgets move closer to the business in 2026, the organizations that do this well will be the ones turning pilots into measurable results.

AI funding may start in IT budgets today, but the next phase of enterprise adoption is pushing funding closer to the business units that own the outcomes.
 
Here’s what our research signals: 
➡️ 57% of AI initiatives are initially funded through IT. 
➡️ As LOB-driven projects prove value, budgets are shifting toward decentralized, business-unit ownership. 
➡️ IT has evolved into an enterprise enabler, providing a secure and scalable platform for AI to thrive across every department.
 
From an investor standpoint, this shift represents the early stages of a major transformation in enterprise strategy and a bullish cycle of AI-driven spend.

2025 was an incredible year for our team, which is why I'm excited to share this Year in Review with you all. 

From expanding the Mayfield AI Garage to our Founder Insights and Weekend Edition newsletter, last year highlighted what we are most passionate about: people. Proud of what everyone accomplished in 2025 and excited to see what's in store for 2026.

Inception & Early-Stage Investor, Entrepreneur and Company Builder

2025 was a builder’s year, and 2026 will be even bigger. 

At Mayfield, we had 2 category-defining exits and 15+ new founder relationships to our growing portfolio of startups that are building the future of AI. 

Here are five lessons from 2025:

1. Don’t build features. Build the category. 
HashiCorp ($7.7B to IBM) and Securiti ($1.725B to Veeam) defined categories that are mission-critical for enterprises: cloud automation and AI data security, privacy, and governance.

2. The best investments are in people. 
We backed Securiti’s Rehan Jalil three times over 18 years, and Securiti is his third successful company building journey. Mayfield’s best investments aren’t in companies, they’re in people. 

3. Community accelerates everything. Build the ecosystem.
We expanded the Mayfield AI Garage to University of California, Berkeley, SaaStr.ai, and TiE because great founders need more than capital. They need mentor capital, community, feedback loops, and access to the people who've built before.

4. Collaborative Intelligence is our north star. 
Through our Founder Insights and Weekend Edition newsletter, we explored how AI amplifies human capabilities rather than replaces them.

Our partnerships with The Farmlink Project, illumyn Impact, Stanford Mayfield Fellows in collaboration with Stanford Technology Ventures Program (STVP), and Neythri.org remind us that venture capital can create value and impact beyond returns.
