My greatest joy in life is to see a women shine with confidence in both her personal and professional life. Learning to breathe again

When Declan took his last breath on that gym floor in January 2025, as I lay beside him, my breath left me too. For 11 months, I couldn't get air past my chest. It would just stop there, stuck, like my body was holding everything in.

This week in Norway, something shifted. Maybe it was the fresh mountain air at Venabu. Maybe it was out all day in the snow until my legs were jelly. Maybe it was the belly laughs with the 8 women who made this week unforgettable. Maybe it was all of it together.

But in yoga this week, I felt it, my breath finally reached my belly. I watched it expand fully for the first time in nearly a year. 

It's just breath, but it's everything. Another step through grief. Another step forward.

That feeling of taking in cold, clean air and feeling it move through your whole body, it's given me something back. Not the old life, but new life.

If you're somewhere in the middle of your own grief, holding your breath without even knowing it: I see you. And I hope you find your moment too, whatever that looks like for you.
