The algorithm isn't fkd.

Your outdated strategy is - fix it now 👇

EVERYONE is 'suffering' due to the algorithm.

But the key problem is that it's changed - but you haven't.

Since February 2025, this is what you've seen on average:

Reach has dropped 𝟰𝟳%
Engagement has dropped 𝟯𝟵%
Follower growth has dropped 𝟰𝟮%.

So you have two options here:
1. Cry about it and give up.
2. Be an adult and move WITH the algorithm


Here are three ways to get the most out of it.

1️⃣ Understand what content to create
  ↳ Articles (!) have made a HUGE comeback (+𝟰𝟳.𝟵𝟮% 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵; +𝟰𝟰.𝟴𝟯% engagement!)
  ↳ Carousels are also back (𝟲.𝟵𝟮% more reach; 𝟰𝟲.𝟳𝟯% engagement!)
  ↳ Text+Image remains stable (reach +𝟰.𝟯𝟱%, engagement +𝟭𝟱.𝟱𝟮%.)
  ↳ Video continues its slump (reach -𝟯𝟱.𝟱𝟳%, engagement -𝟮𝟯.𝟭𝟯%)

🔥 My recommendation:
  ↳ Experiment with Articles (caters for your longer-form fans, builds more trust - CTA at end (could also repurpose a newsletter or post which previously performed well).
  
  ↳ Carousels should be part of your weekly strategy anyway. Have a soft nudge to offer something extra (playbook, video, checklist, etc etc) to further deepen calls booked ratio
  
  ↳ Text+image+INSIGHTS - lazy content won't fly. 

  ↳ Keep videos short, story-led and with INSIGHTS. Strong copy is very important. 

Just because the algo is killing video, DOESN'T mean your audience suddenly hates it (Louis Butterfield continues to lead the way).



2️⃣ Understand how the algorithm is REALLY working.
  ↳ Saves and reposts are your secret weapons 
 → Infographics and cheatsheets for TOFU, Carousels for MOFU.
 → Carousels lead with 𝟯𝟮.𝟰% of reposts and 𝟮𝟵.𝟮% 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗮𝘃𝗲𝘀.

  ↳ This algorithm no longer prioritises BS 'value' that ChatGPT can spit out
(I've been saying this for how long?! 😉)
 → It wants insightful, experiential, educational content (storytelling perfect for this).
 → If you're get getting '7 generic tips on X' from ChatGPT, it's why you're losing.



3️⃣ Understand the basic rules
  ↳ Daily posting can see audience fatigue drop by -𝟰𝟱%
 → 2-3 posts/week -𝟮𝟴% drop.
  🔥 My recommendation: 3-4 times a week - you still want to be top of mind for your audience.

↳ Set MEANINGFUL commenting blocks (on the right posts)
 →  Doing it 3-4 times a day in 10 minute sessions gets better results
  
🔥 My recommendation: 
  ↳ 60% prospects' posts and 40% fellow experts in your niche (goldmines for new followers).

This type of post gets you GROWTH

(the hardest thing to get on LinkedIn now)

You've seen it:

Fluffy, nonsense, cut-and-paste-from-chatgpt nonsense.

It clutters up your LinkedIn feed like garbage collection day.

The problem is, so much of it is generated with the intention to grow.

"Post generic shit and people will follow you!".

It's the advice the gurus give...
And it's wrong.

Top of Funnel (TOFU) content is KEY to growing your account...

But you need it to be with the right people.

This structure of TOFU post I'm sharing with you is what my clients use to ensure they still grow every week...

Without fading into the abyss like everyone else.

There are 5 key components to a successful TOFU posts that

a) gets noticed
b) positions you as your audience's expert
c) grows your account.

1️⃣ Identity Hook > Tip Hook
→ Lead with two short, emotive lines that sound like them, not you.
↳ Write 2 eight-word lines that expose a truth they quietly feel today. No jargon. Make it “that’s me.”

2️⃣ Mirror Their Inner Voice
→ Open with a one-sentence “before snapshot” that shows a lived moment.
↳ Write one sentence you could have said last year: “I opened my CRM already behind…”. Keep it human and concrete.

3️⃣ Name the Visible Symptom
→ Describe what they do, not why they do it.
↳ In one line, label an action pattern readers already notice: “I logged tasks everywhere and missed follow-ups weekly.” Gentle tone only.

4️⃣ Flip the Frame
→ Reveal the real lever in one punchy line.
↳ Replace the convenient excuse with the true cause: “Not pipeline issues; I lacked a daily priority system.” Make it yours. No clichés.

5️⃣ Tiny Practice, Tiny Win
→ Offer a 5-minute action with a simple template or cue.
↳ While the kettle boils, send 2 follow-up notes using a one-line prompt that offers a clear next step. Promise a quick, doable win.

Add some proof of how it has benefited you.
Show has it worked.

The key is getting people to SAVE your content - as this also gives you more reach.

The aim is NEVER to sell.
It's to inform, educate and build trust.

And it beats the same Oprah quote being used 63 times a year 😏

How to Create Stronger TOFU Content

LinkedIn can be toxic for solopreneurs -

And you might be part of the problem.

I find myself doomscrolling from time to time on here.

Seeing mad claims about booking 278 calls a month,
Whilst their engagement seems to go through the roof.

Mine?

Mine's dropped - like the vast majority of people's.

I'm not booking 278 calls a month.
(12-20 is just fine, thankyouverymuch).

3-4 new clients a month, and I'm at maximum capacity.

And hundreds of likes and comments - no interest.
(delve deeper and you'll mostly see it's the same people with the same AI extension leaving the same comments).

Not the LinkedIn I personally want.

So take a step back and ask yourself:

If you're booking 278 calls a week (which you're not), how many are qualified potential buyers...
And how many are time-wasters?

If you're booking 10 new clients a week,
Are you really charging enough?

And are the people showing up on your content your ICP... 
Or randoms who will never buy from you?

Being intentional doesn't mean intentionally fixating on the wrong things.

And then blindly copying others' bold claims to try and stand out.

Stop looking at random numbers on social media as measures of success.
And stop comparing yourself, asking why you're not on that 'level' yet.

Look to your Stripe account instead.

Many people here are thriving, yet are made to feel like failures.

Focus on what you can control,
And look up to those who can help you become what you want to be.
(spoiler alert.. Any 10X your [insert pain here] claims should be red flags).

There is a lot of smoke, 
and even more mirrors 
and even more bullshit in content.

Pick your poison wisely.

You're being lied to about success.

It's NOT High impressions + engagement 🙅‍♀️

It's the story as old as the social media hills:

If you can accumulate THOUSANDS of followers
(connect to 100-200 people a week)

And get LOADS of likes
(which take a fraction of a second to leave)

You are a social media success
(spoiler alert: you're not).

Collecting followers like Pokémon means you can't get to know them all meaningfully...
So stop with the 200 new connections a week 🤦‍♂️

I fell into the trap, especially at the beginning.

The dopamine of the likes coming in
(nowadays it's the AI comments...)

And equating it to social media 'working' for me.

It makes you feel - and 'look' successful.

Yet I was still broke.

So your gurus sell it (and engagement pods) as the solution to all your problems.

But here's what they're teaching you:
To create templated, fluffy bullshit 
(with 10 generic ChatGPT-generated bullet points).

And here's what it gets you:
Nodding heads and likes...

But not what REAL success is: new clients.

So let's be adults about this.

Yes, of course, engagement has its part to play.

But if everyone agrees with you because you're posting that Oprah Winfrey quote which everyone loves
(love you Oprah)

Then everyone sees her as the expert.

Not you.

It was when I learned that your content should attract the right people -
And repel the wrong (wrong fit, wrong niche, wrong type) that it all began to change.

People want to know YOUR insights - not ChatGPT's 'value'
(I've been saying for a long time Value is Dead for this reason).

To be a success you need to be booking calls every day.
To book calls every day, you need content which speaks to your niche:

And positions YOU as their expert.

So stop getting caught in to Social Media Success Trap:

Likes don't = success 
Success = new clients.

4️⃣ Connection Requests Aren’t a Numbers Game

↳ Only add people in your niche. Send 10-15 quality requests/day and open with a light, relevant question.

5️⃣ You’re Not Their Friend - You’re the Fix
→ Being “nice” doesn’t close clients. Being the expert does.
↳ Audit your last 10 convos. Cut the friendly fluff. Lead with clarity and outcomes.

You don’t need a bigger audience.
You need to be their expert - not their best friend.

5 Ways Community doesn't really work (and how to monetize 

One thing I wish I had known years ago:

You NEED to fk up to progress.

Progress isn't linear.
Success isn't linear.
Life isn't linear.

So stop thinking it is.

When I was a high school teacher, I had 4 rules:

When I speak, you're quiet.
When you speak, I'm quiet.
When others speak, we're quiet.

And... Make mistakes.

The final part is what I teach my clients to this day.

Since school, we were taught that failure was bad.
After that, society drills the same bullshit into us.

Whereas science knows the brain needs failure.
It needs to learn resilience.
It needs to understand where it went wrong...

To learn how to make it right.

A failure is only a failure if we fail to learn from it.

And the same when we fk something up.
It's fine.
It happens.
Stop beating yourself up.
And get on with it.

Had I known this, I wouldn't have spent so long in school feeling dumb.
And had I understood this when I went into business, I would have learned so much faster.

So, give yourself permission.

Most things broken can be repaired...

Even our egos 😉

You're posting content every day.

But here's why your calendar is empty.

You're speaking to pain points your audience doesn't recognise yet.

Only 3% of your audience has a "bleeding neck problem" they're desperate to fix NOW.

Another 7% are pain-aware but will "get to it later."

That means 90% of the people seeing your content aren't pain-aware at all.

They're symptom-aware.

And if you're not speaking to symptoms, they scroll past.

You say: "You need better positioning"
They think: "I guess? I don't know what that means."

But,
You say: "Your DMs go quiet the moment you mention your work"
They think: "HOLY SHIT. That's exactly what happens."

Same problem.

When you have no DM Strategy,

You don't book calls. Here's why 👇

SCAN routes the conversation so you stop sounding like a pitcher and start sounding like their expert. 

We use:
FEELS when they’re symptom-aware.
BLEED when the pain is named and urgent. 

Why it matters: most people aren’t pain-aware.
They respond to symptoms.

Around 3% of your audience and prospects have a problem they need fixed NOW.
Around 7% are aware of a problem but will "figure it out" themselves or delay.

That leaves 90% knowing what the symptom FEELS like...
But unaware of the BLEED into a problem they need to fix.

Where you need it: from comments into DMs with SCAN,
Pivot mid-thread with FEELS or move fast with BLEED,
Close cleanly with CALL. 

When you know if they are painpoint or symptom aware, you need different strategies.

This is why most DM conversations go dead, with no call at the end.

But fail every time selling themselves.

"I helped Bob grow $30m in revenue..."
"I helped them cut churn by 72%"
"I helped this company triple their revenue"

Yet when they come to show this on LinkedIn...
Nothing.

They like to be behind the scenes.
They don't like the guru play of listing big '10X' results as they don't want to come across as dicks.

So, instead?

They'll post the generic nonsense.

💀 The 42 AI tools.
💀 The productivity hacks.
💀 The anything-but-me-or-my-work-as-I-don't-want-to-boast content.

And the maddest thing?

They are all natural storytellers.
They just need a frame to make their clients the hero.

I worked last week with a new client, Jason.

Shoutout to him - another brilliant expert who loves helping others...
But doesn't want to come across as a dick in showcasing it.

So I asked him to tell me about some of his clients' successes (not HIS successes)
(as they are actually the same thing).

He helped them understand that their greatest asset was their churned clients and how to ask the right questions to ensure they didn't churn their current clients the same way in 6 months' time.

Their result?
72% less churn.

SO we turned this into a story using my SHOWTIME Storytelling structure:

𝗦 - Spark (Hook): Counterintuitive opener or question that grabs attention.
𝗛 - Habitat (Scene): One concrete where/when/who to ground the story.
𝗢 - Obstacle (Tension): The belief, mistake, or constraint plus stakes.
𝗪 - Why we were wrong (Unlearn): The belief flip; the new rule.
𝗧 - Tactics (Steps): The 1–3 moves others can copy today.
𝗜 - Impact (Result): What changed; number or unmistakable outcome.
𝗠 - Moral (Lesson): One sentence that names the point.
𝗘 - Engage (Call): A clear next step (comment keyword or book a call).

Suddenly, he knew how to turn his stories into content that didn't make him sound like a dic... Yeah, you get the idea 😉

He's already on his way to drafting 5 story posts which are guaranteed to educate his audience and generate leads, without feeling like he's sold his LinkedIn soul.

You see, EVERYBODY has stories within them.
Most just don't know how to tell them about themselves.

That's where frameworks (not damn templates!) come in.
