My team is adding a Senior Microsoft Engineer to lead the design, configuration, and management of our Microsoft 365 environment.

This role will own our Microsoft platform end-to-end: M365, EntraID, Exchange, Intune, and Defender.

You’ll be one of the key team members who ensures our environment is secure, reliable, and compliant with SOC 2, ISO 27001, and NIST requirements.

You will help define how we shape our Microsoft 365 strategy, harden our environment, automate configuration, and modernize onboarding and offboarding.

You’ll have a voice in how we architect and evolve our entire Microsoft ecosystem.

We’d love to meet someone with:
▶️ 5+ years of enterprise Microsoft 365 experience
▶️Deep expertise in Intune, EntraID, Exchange Online, and tenant management
▶️Proven experience hardening environments to SOC 2, HIPAA, and NIST 800-53 standards

Never in my lifetime has a book on leading with integrity felt more necessary than it does right now.

Look around the American political landscape. It does not matter which channel you watch or which party you lean toward. The headlines are filled with the same themes I warn leaders about in The Integrity Edge:

Leaders bending truth to benefit their image. 
Leaders who chase power at the expense of their principles.
Leaders who use divisive language to make up for their lack of vision.
Leaders surrounded by people who nod and agree, not people who tell them the truth.
Leaders who treat their authority and influence as evidence of some superior entitlement... misunderstanding the very purpose of leadership.

Pride is on display everywhere.
Fear is weaponized.
Trust is absent. Ignored.
Accountability is someone else’s problem.
So many act like the ends justify the means. Win at any price.

When integrity becomes flexible, this is the eventual outcome.

In moments like this, it is tempting to shrug and say, “Well, that’s politics.” But that mindset is exactly how cultures drift. It’s how organizations slowly normalize behaviors they would have once rejected. It’s how leaders gradually compromise their way into becoming someone they never meant to be. 

It’s the death by a thousand small cuts. Integrity rarely disappears in a single moment. It degrades over time.

When leaders stop listening, stop telling the truth, stop taking responsibility, and stop serving the people they are entrusted to lead… distrust is the only logical outcome. 

We see it nationally. We feel it locally. We recognize it in our own companies.
This is why leading with integrity matters now more than ever.

Integrity is not naive.
It is not weak. It is not slow.
It is the most sustainable competitive advantage a leader can have.

Trust.
Honesty.
Humility.
Courage.
Consistency.
Service.

Those qualities are not outdated. They are not a hindrance or a handicap.  
They are the difference between leaders who rise and leaders who flounder under the weight of their own ego.

Whatever chaos the headlines show us, we get to choose the kind of leaders we become.

And choosing integrity, every time… especially when it is costly… is how we build something that lasts.

How you win matters. Choose integrity!

A simple leadership truth that seems more uncommon as each day passes...

Authority is transferable. Responsibility is not.

You can hand someone the authority to act.
You can empower them with decision-making.
You can trust them with influence, autonomy, and ownership.
However, the responsibility for the outcome stays with the leader.

A leader can share responsibility, but they can never delegate it. 
Not morally. Not culturally. Not in the eyes of their team.

This is why leaders who delegate well stay close enough to coach, guide, clarify expectations, and remove obstacles. They give people room to operate, but they don't abandon the work. 

And they for darn sure do not use delegation as a shield to avoid the fallout when things go sideways.

As a leader, when something happens on your watch, it is your responsibility to understand it, address it, and own the consequences. Even if your actions didn't directly create the negative outcome. The outcome is on you... good or bad. That's leadership.

When leaders grasp this distinction:
Teams stop fearing mistakes.
Accountability becomes cultural instead of conditional.
Trust grows because people know their leader will not abandon them in the rough times.

Authority is a tool. Responsibility is a burden.
Great leaders never confuse the two.

How you win matters. Choose integrity!

“Do as I say, not as I do” is the laziest, most backwards leadership approach of all.

Some leaders behave as if there ought to be two sets of rules…
One for the ruling class.
One for the peasants.

That mindset destroys trust faster than just about anything else.
It tells the team that the leader sees themselves as exempt.
It tells them that the leader expects sacrifice but won’t make any.
It tells them they must follow rules that the leader clearly doesn’t respect.

Great leaders reject that nonsense.

Leaders… lead.

They model the behaviors they expect from their teams.
They do the thing they ask others to do.
Especially the hard thing.
Especially the boring thing.
Especially the tedious thing.

If it’s important enough for your team to do, it’s important enough for you to do.

How you win matters. Choose integrity!
