By age 30, I was a Managing Director: running 7-figure programs, shaping company culture, giving keynotes to 650+ people, and partnering with brands like Google, Subaru, and PayPal… but I was failing everywhere else in my life.

Today, I help ambitious women in leadership who look “successful” on paper but secretly feel like they’re drowning. Women who want time back, teams that actually step up, and a life that doesn’t get the leftovers.

I work with women from Manager to SVP. Here’s what they’re actually achieving:

- An 86% raise over 3 years
- 5+ weeks of unplugged PTO while running 7-figure projects

Now, I help women leaders do the same, without waiting for burnout or a breakdown to force the change.

You CAN have a career that *feels* as good as it looks on paper.

It started with a harmless question at a conference: 

“Do you have kids?” 

“No, we don't,” I responded. 

He didn’t pause or blink and responded with: 
“Oh... well, you’re trying to have kids then.” 

Not a question. A statement. 
My response: "No, not right now."

Then came his follow-up: 
“Oh, because it’s hard for you. Are you doing IVF?” 

My brain short-circuited.
Not just because he asked, but because of what he assumed: 

• That my life without children was broken. 
• That womanhood requires proof of trying. 
• That the only “acceptable” answer for not having kids is that something's wrong. 

We’ve built a world where childlessness requires: 
• an explanation 
• a diagnosis 
• a tragic backstory 
• an apology 

I’ve watched brilliant women leaders shrink in these moments. Overshare to avoid judgment. 
Justify their existence. 

Kids are wonderful. Full stop. 
AND not having kids doesn’t make you incomplete. 

You don’t owe anyone a storyline that makes your life palatable to them. Your choices are valid without justification.

I’m grateful I quit my Managing Director role this year.
 
Not because corporate is bad.  

Because leadership requires knowing when a role is no longer aligned with the impact you’re here to make.
  
As a Managing Director, I finally hit the version of success I’d been working toward:

• Spoke up in SLT meetings & led org-wide changes
• Took real vacations (5+ weeks!) with zero work
• Led at a high level without sacrificing myself
• Built a team that could operate without me
• Protected time with my husband & friends

I proved you can be a great leader 𝘢𝘯𝘥 have a life. But my role shifted into something that no longer played to my strengths or the outcomes I wanted to drive.
 
The same career that stretched me, developed me, and shaped me… also taught me how to recognize when a chapter is complete.
 
And now, I get to help other women make career decisions rooted in alignment + ambition, not fear or exhaustion.

You don’t have to leave corporate to be happy.

I shared the stage with Accenture's Global Chief Diversity Officer. 

But the best moment happened in the bathroom.

A woman VP cornered me: "You're so good at that. How?"

Here's what I told her:

My CEO gave me two weeks' notice to moderate this panel.

Two years earlier? I would've either:
• Said no (and regretted it)
• Said yes, panicked, & overprepared

This time I did something different. I said:

"Yes, but I need you to help craft the session. Two weeks isn't enough time for me to set the panel up for success while also finishing final prep for the full 650-person conference, my keynotes, etc."

• I actually made demands.
• Set terms.
• Asked for what I needed.

The VP's eyes widened. "You can DO that?"

Here's what I've learned after working with hundreds of women leaders:

The ones who get promoted aren't the ones who say yes to everything.

They're the ones who negotiate HOW they say yes.

Every woman who's made this shift tells me the same thing: their bosses started seeing them differently. Not as doers, but as leaders.

We're all stuck between "no" and "yes, but I'll die trying."

There's a third option we never talk about:
"Yes, AND here's what I need to succeed."

We think confidence is about doing it all ourselves.
It's actually knowing when to ask for support.

They negotiate the terms.

You need ONE swap that sticks.

1. Pick your biggest morning sin.
2. Replace it with the "instead" action.
3. Do it tomorrow. Keep doing it.

No cold plunges or 27-step routines you'll abandon by Tuesday.

Just one small rebellion against the reactive cycle that's stealing your energy.

A reactive morning guarantees a reactive day.
And reactivity is where burnout breeds.

Holy sh*t, writing a book is the most vulnerable thing I've ever done.


Part of me is giddily excited. 
The other part wants to hide under my desk.

There are stories I've never told publicly: 

• The diagnosis I never shared with my team
• Seriously questionable leadership practices
• Earth-shattering news I didn't take a day off for
• The time I ugly cried in the SLC airport after a work trip

And plenty of ones I have:

• Being told I was a figment of my husband's imagination
• The "you can't get married on a blackout date" story
• Being gaslit at work by respected leaders
• Putting therapy on my work calendar

This book is honest, messy, and real. 

Because that's what actually helps people.
And in many ways, it's become a healing journey for me.

The stories we're scared to tell are the ones that set us + others free.

Who's ready for the unfiltered version?

Most women in leadership can run massive budgets but can't stick to a morning routine.
 
We're out here:  
• Leading teams across 2-3 time zones  
• Presenting without breaking a sweat  
• Building strategies that transform entire orgs
 
But also:  
• Eating cereal for dinner (again)  
• Working out “tomorrow” for the 47th day straight  
• Giving our families our "leftovers"
 
I’ve worked with dozens of women Directors + VPs:
 
They can build a complex financial model.  
But can’t remember to drink water before noon.
 
They never miss a deadline.
But haven't taken a real lunch break in months.
 
💡We treat our laptops better than we treat ourselves.
And nobody bats an eye.

Being brilliant at work and terrible at basic self-care isn’t a personality trait. It’s what happens when we’ve been taught that taking care of everyone else IS the job.
 
Your morning isn’t the problem; the expectations crushing it are.
 
You matter more than your Q4 targets.
